Hi up for sale is lot of 4 antique cast metal wall sconces. There are 2 with two arms and 2 with one arm. They have a shield like motif. The double armed ones are 9 1/2" tall at the center part. And about 9 1/2" across. They stick out 3 1/4" the paper socket covers that look like candles are 5" tall, they have some wear. The single ones are 9 1/2" tall and 4 1/2" across. All have turn switches toward the bottoms, all have the hangers that the finials go through the centers, one is already attached in the pic. They are in good shape, have some finish wear. Marked Riddle Co Design Made in USA I can't authenticate this but the previous owner told me they came out of the John Deere House in Moline IL. The fourth sconce is torched shaped, and topped with flowers, measureing 8 inches high by 7 inches across from light bulb to light bulb.

Four restored. Matching, early 20th century brass interior wall sconces. Backplates are decorated with stepped rings around the perimeter. Simple tubular brass arms terminate with an keyless antique sockets. Sockets have been rewired with UL approved 18/2 wire and new cardboard insulators. Each socket utilizes antique UNO style marked 2 1/4" shade holders marked USA around the perimeter. Etched glass shades feature a clear greek key design around the perimeter. One shade does have two small chips on the bottom opening, see image 8. One of the four shades also has a purple tint to it. It is subtle, but worth mentioning. It is the shade on the far left in images 1, 5, 6, and 7. Two of the sconces to have some splits in the perimeter of the canopy. They are on the part of the fixture that is common with the wall. This is a Large Scale Pair of Vintage Italian Tole Acanthus Leaf Wall Sconces. Each sconce is approximately 28 1/4" tall by 22 1/4" at its widest. There is a Made In Italy metal tag. And the sconces have holes in the end of the leaves to apply crystals if the buyer so wishes. The finish on the sconces is more of a bronze tone than gold, a previous owner may have applied a surface finish to them or they just might need a good cleaning, however the photos of the back of the sconces show what is most likely the original gold leaf finish. The shades are correct period prismatic leaded Holophanes marked E7. This shadeholder style was used 1905 through the teens. The last picture shows this sconce in a 1912 Peters catalog with a different shade choice-Peters did not market Holophanes. A few of the Holophanes have flea bites on the ribs no worse than the one by my thumb in the last picture. These items are old and used but in good recondition so do not expect new. These sconces were designed to fit over a sink or vanity. This wall lamp has been washed, paint and most dings removed, and waxed. The canopy bell is 5 inches in diameter and will cover a standard outlet box. The wall sconces ... morestick out about 9 inches, they are about 171/2"wide and 11" top to bottom. Here is what I think are 4 very old vintage decorative parts from a wall light or lamp? The one still has some of the old wiring in it. One is missing the ring thing. I can see some gold color through the dirt? Does not look like dirt but they need cleaned. The one with the wire has some damage where looks scraped and that is where I can see the gold. I did not clean up because I did not want to ruin them. These have to be part of an old light since the one has the wiring. But I really don't know. I got a huge lot of cast I have been listing and have some still to list. Check it all out on my other sales. I have no idea what some of these are for. They are here for sale. Set of 4 Antique Slip Shade Sconces - Art Deco Nouveau -Architectural Wall Light
Available here is a set of four slip shade sconces. The amber colored shades feature a floral design and leaf pattern on the three visible sides. The depth of the moulded glass displays very nicely when the sconces are lit. The glass shades sit within the metal fixture around the socket. I can find no damage to the shades. The metal sconces also feature a floral design that compliments the shades very well. I am not sure of the base metal. But these sconces have a bronze finish. There is some foreign paint around the metal fixtures, I have not tried to remove it. They do have new sockets with up-to-date wiring. Any wiring seen in the photos would be hidden when installed properly. I used the electrical wires to picture the working sconces. These sconces were made by the Lightolier company in New York between 1920 and 1930. These are high end designer sconces and becoming very hard to find on the retail market. The shades are opalescent glass with hand painted designs. All of the shades are signed Lightolier around the fitter rim as you can see. 3 of the designs match and one is different however it is still the same model of sconce and they were originally purchased this way(it may have been for a separate room in the home) Please note. One of the shades is chipped as you can see in the last picture. Available here is a set of four sconces. These sconces were probably produced in the 50s or 60s and feature a classic mid-century modern design. They were made by the Progress Manufacturing Co. The original tags are still intact on the back of the sconces. The slip shades rest inside the metal fixture. The curved glass shades have linear lines leading up to a white and gold checkered design on the top. Two of the shades have very small chips on the back lip of the shade. Please see pictures as the chips are very small and aren't noticeable when hung. The fixtures are made of brass and retain the original rotary switches. The wiring on all of these are good and the sconces work as they should. The metal fixtures are in very good condition. These even have the original mounting plates to help with the installation. A pair of vintage French style sconces showing exceptionally ornate backplates with flowers and cut out leaf designs. Solid brass with an attractive antique bronze patina. Dressed with large French cut crystals around the bobeches. Underside of arms and on the strands, the sconces are complete with 3 layers of crystal strands draping between the arms. Large matching sconces made by Mottheau& Fils of Paris, known of Maison Mottheau, circa 1890-1910s. Each measures 33" tall, 21" wide and 12" deep(79 by 53 by 30 cm) They feature steel and gilt metal frames and five candle arms, and new crystal beads, flower heads and faceted oval crystals, plus new rock crystal pendants. Condition is very good. There is some obvious oxidation and wear to the gilt surfaces, consistent with age. They have modern sockets and candle covers, but are in need of new wiring. Mottheau was a leading bronzier operating in Paris from the last quarter of the nineteenth century and into the early twentieth century.
