Another of my"absolute auctions" 99 cent start& no dreaded reserve. BARN FRESH" from Alabama(really) I did evicted the spiders(and other critters) However(comma) these have not been cleaned. Not rewired, not tested. nice and dusty with all the"original" dirt, spider webs, roach poop& patina included! These are real"Adam's Family" or the Munster's) decor. VERY COOL. Herman Munster would be proud to own these! Lots of 80- 90 year old original paint left on these fellows(see photos) No notable damage to the main support structure on these nice lamps(you will need to find a good mounting bolt for the center hole(see photos) The main structure is a cast metal. It is not cast iron as the metal is not magnetic. The"tin" bobeches(wax catchers) are bent/banged-up a bit. easily corrected ... moreby the proud new owner. The sockets are dirty. But may be OK once cleaned up. I would highly recommend rewiring these lamps. I usually do this before listing lamps/electrical items, however, I'm getting a bit lazy lately. Both sconces are marked on the backside"Pat. Applied For" Both old switches are there. they click when turned. But are untested electrically. I know. the word"untested" on Ebay usually means broken. The nickel finish is in good condition but shows minor tarnishing. The patent date on the back side is March 3, 1925(photo 10) The wiring is modern, and they have very unique rotary switches in the form of an acorn. The switches work correctly. The paper candles are original and I was torn between replacing them or painting them, but decided to leave them as is and the new owner can decide whether to replace them or paint them to match their own décor. The sconces have been tested(photo 12) and work correctly. Bulbs are not included. The sconces are 13-1/2" high to the top of the candles. 4-3/8" wide, and they project 3-3/4" ... morefrom the wall(wall plate to front of shade) They use a candelabra style bulb. The candles are 5" long but only 4" is exposed, the rest being hidden by the candle holders. They weigh 3-1/2 lbs each. These near 100 year old matching pair of Art Deco Wall Sconces are a stunning examples of Art Deco. With their tiered glass shaded sconces and stylized design. They are in remarkably well preserved condition for their age. The original glass shades are light golden amber with a satin finish and diffuse light beautifully. They are in very good condition. Except for a few minor chips, flaking and roughness, which cannot be seen when displayed. Most of these can be seen in the photos, few can not as they are so small. Do look closely at the photographs and bid accordingly as we do not offer returns. The cast metal backplates are made of unidentified metal. They need rewiring as the socket. Antique 1920's Lovely Pair of Edwardian Wall Sconces (ANT-300)
Lovely pair of Circa 1920 wall sconces. Original antique sconces with original Art Glass antique shades. These sconces have a lovely Edwardian pewter look and a great design that is so typical of the Edwardian style. The original antique shades are also so very nice. They are an ivory color with clear applied art glass touches to each side. Tall shades and the design on the art glass shades seems to match the shapes found in the metal backplate. A nice combination indeed. The metal. Of the backplates, is cast metal with a lovely pewter finish. Ready to go.nothing needs to be done except add the light bulbs of your choice. We would recommend our LED candelabrum bulbs, 35C-E26 if you wish ambient light rather than full room power. The ambiance of these bulbs is warm and they draw so little electricity(1.6 watts) that we have known folks that ... moreleave them on 24/7. The bulbs do have an expected life of 25,000- 30,000 hours. However.if a stronger light is desired.we suggest a tubular S-10 bulb which is the same kind of tubular bulb often used in desk lamps. It gives a balanced light for this longer shade. These sconces have been completely re-wired in our UL shop with new sockets and all new wire. We have also replaced the rotary switches. Made by Leviton in the 20’s.and were still made up to ONE year ago. So these switches, by Leviton are becoming even more antique as we note this. Offered for sale A MAGNIFICENT PAIR OF MAISON BAGUES CANDLE SCONES CIRCA 1920-1930. These wonderful sconces. Attributed to the French Bagues maker are finished in an aged silver leaf, the frames are beaded, the basket form is beaded with two candle arms. They are hung with wonderful antique crystals in amber, amethyst and clear in the forms of pears with crystal leaves, crystal balls, French pedagogue shapes, stars, flowers, crystal leaves and faceted drops. All in all an amazing fantasy of crystal and wonderful shapes. The scones measure 16" tall x 12 1/4 wide x 6 1/2 deep, and are a true left and right pair. They are now unwired and hang from a loop of silver and crystal beaded tops. If you would prefer them to be wired, I can furnish them wired as well. Matching pair of 4 early sconces. They will need to be rewired. These came out of a multi million dollar early 1920's home. I have had them in storage for years thinking one day I would have the correct home to add them too. I have decided to sell. They are heavy, the size is in the pictures, The cups are clearly Silver, the base appears to be Silver, I am not certain for I am NOT a metal expert, they are certainly extremely high quality and very old. The metal appears to be either bronze or brass. They have ornate openwork with a brass plate attached to the back that has a reddish, crackled, finish on the front(it shows through the openwork on the back of the sconce, see photo) The finish appears to be original and so do the cardboard candle covers(the covers have a lot of wear) They both have an on/off switch that appears to be working(it clicks when you turn it) Each sconce measures approximately 12 1/4" high x 9 1/4" across(end of arm, to end of arm) x about 4 7/8" across the back plate that mounts to the wall. Antique bronze Dutch sconces 3 arm with Royal crown design 1920s Up for offer today a unique pair of Dutch sconces. These sconces date back to the mid 1920’s and are made out of solid bronze. Not copper. The only flaw I see on these sconces is a opening on top of one of the arms. This is not a broken part. This happened when these were made. As bronze is heated up to a melting temperature. In the mold these were made. There was just not enough bronze at that part. If these were made today, these sconces would end up in an outlet store. You can compare it like that. Once you hang these sconces, it’s for you to know. Can’t see it once these are hung. Height is 10” width is 12 ½” and depth is 10” These sconces have the European wiring and will need to be rewired to work in the USA. These also have the old wood sockets. A splendid pair of antique porcelain single-arm sconces. Dating from the 1920’s and especially nice for use in a bathroom. The sconces feature sleek geometric back plates, extending forward to hold lovely, rectangle-shaped porcelain bobeches; They have an interesting crackled finish that varies slightly from sconce to sconce. These wall lamps are in excellent condition; they have been professionally rewired for modern installation. The sconces measure 8-1/8” tall, 4-1/8" wide and extend approx. 4-1/4” from the wall. Set of 4- Lightolier NYC- Designer 1920's Antique Art Deco Slip Shade Sconces This listing is for a set of 4 slip shade sconces. These sconces were made by the Lightolier company in New York between 1920 and 1930. These are high end designer sconces and becoming very hard to find on the retail market. The shades are opalescent glass with hand painted designs. All of the shades are signed Lightolier around the fitter rim as you can see. 3 of the designs match and one is different however it is still the same model of sconce and they were originally purchased this way(it may have been for a separate room in the home) Please note. One of the shades is chipped as you can see in the last picture. This chip is on the inside edge so you can not see it at all when the sconces are mounted on the wall because the light bulb completely covers it. ... moreAll of the other lamp shades are free from any chips or cracks. And you can also find replacements online. The sconces are made of cast white metal so they are heavy and will never rust. There is some minor chips in the paint of the fixtures. VINTAGE 1920'S WILLIAMSON BEARDSLEE 081 ART DECO SLIP SHADE WALL SCONCES
Here is a pair of nice 1920's Williamson Beardslee 1920's art deco slip shade wall sconces. Model# 081. Great condition with the original glass shades. Original manufacturer's stickers still in the back on both sconces. Slip shades in good condition also. One chipped in the back on the part that slides into the lamp, so chip is not visible when attached to the lamp. Other shade has a minimal chip right on the top rim. Maybe 1/8 inch in size, only visible when looking up close and from the top. Wiring is the original cloth wiring and while it is probably working. Rewiring is recommended, which should be easy with these since they have a standard socket. Nice pair of art deco sconces. Will be shipped securely packed and fully insured. 2 Bronze Art Deco Slip Shade Sconces by Midwest Lighting Company 1920's - 1930's
This is a beautiful pair of 2 art deco cast bronze sconces which I believe were manufactured by Midwest Lighting Co. circa 1920-30. They have a very nice warm coppery gold color to them. The sconces are slip shade in design but I do not have the shades themselves. The sconces have an abstract floral pattern to their design. Each sconce measures about 10 1/2" tall. And each is about 5 1/2" wide. The sconces are bronze and are quite heavy- about 1 1/2 pounds each. There is a bit of paint on the sides of each sconce. But this can be easily removed with fine steel wool. I removed some from one sconce and polished it up a bit and it came out very well. The sconces will need to be rewired and will need brackets to mount them to the wall. Art Deco period hammered light fixture with 5 light holders. Chain and canopy. There are also 2 matching wall sconces. They look like a cross between bronze and copper. They are far more beautiful than the pictures show. All rewired and ready to be hung. These are out of a grand home in Indiana. The chandelier measures 18" across the bottom. The body is 21" long and when you include the chain and canopy the drop is 39" It is much more attractive than the pictures show. There are no breaks, cracks or damage that I can find. An exceptional pair of solid bronze double light sconces. Original polychrome remains on undersides of bobeches and on 7 other areas of each sconce. colours of gold. Red and blue at the top and deep red and blue on the frames. The detailed cutout design contrasts with the solid shield backplates and lower fleur-de-lis. Two 1920's Antique CRESCENT BRASS MFG. CO. Solid Brass WALL SCONCES, No 023
A pair of heavy brass wall sconces marked CRESCENT B M CO PAT'D NO 023. Probably from the 1020's. They are approx. 11 3/4" long and 8 1/2" across. And 4 1/4" deep. At one time they had a gold colored finish, a lot of it is now gone. The candle holders still contain the paper candle holder in them. I did not clean these sconces, they are as found.
