I did wire the sconce in and it works– however– the socket on the left is very loose and definitely needs some work or replacement. The wiring looks like it was replaced at one time. The amber bulbs shown in the photos are what was in the sconces when we got it. However, they are NOT INCLUDED in the purchase and will not be shipped with the sconce. They are designed with a branch with seen leaves each making up the bobeche below the candle holder and leaves and flowing scroll work. The finish on the sconces is more of a bronze tone than gold, a previous owner may have applied a surface finish to them or they just might need a good cleaning, however the photos of the back of the sconces show what is most likely the original gold leaf finish. Each sconce has the marking"VM" or possibly"VCM" in the bowl and the numbers"6-1" There is no damage that I could see to either. They are approximately 12" long and 10" high. The bowls that holds the oil lamp or candle have a diameter of 5" at the top and just over 3.5" on the bottom. The bowls have a height of just over 2" Neither sconce includes mounting hardware. This auction is for a pair of antique solid brass candle wall sconces. That hold 3 candles each. Each candle is placed in the"bud" of a stylized open flower. And each candle holder is threaded and can be unscrewed. The middle holder on each sconce is slightly askew, which was part of the original manufacture. Each sconce is quite solid, and no part can be easily bent. Each is 17" high and 14" wide, and extends 4" from the wall. In the close-up photo of the back, the screws holding the arms can be seen, as well as the metal hook from which each hangs. My late husband bought these wall sconces at a Vermont antique shop in the mid-1940's. They were authenticated at that time as having been made in the early 1900's. He used them at one time. So there is some candle residue from use years ago. However, they have ... morebeen unused and packed in a carton for the last 45 years. Neither has ever been polished, and both retain their patina. This pair of sconces was very recently appraised for $450-$600, by the fine arts director at an auction house. Gorgeous set of brass wall sconces. Circa late 1800's to early 1900's. These were acquired at an estate sale where they were represented as"Italian" they do look similar to Bradley& Hubbard, although they are not marked as such. Ornate design with Della Robbia style urn to the top with a fish or dolphin to each side facing in opposite directions. Scrolling design to the frame section of each. With two arms for candles. Each bobeche has 6 crystal pendants. These are quite spectacular assembled and hung! Mirrors are not bevelled and have felt covering to the back to protect the mirror and your walls! Sconces measure about 21" in length by 10 1/4" in width. inclusive of the arms) Each sconce assembled with the crystals weighs a tad over 5 pounds. The metal appears to be either bronze or brass. They have ornate openwork with a brass plate attached to the back that has a reddish, crackled, finish on the front(it shows through the openwork on the back of the sconce, see photo) The finish appears to be original and so do the cardboard candle covers(the covers have a lot of wear) They both have an on/off switch that appears to be working(it clicks when you turn it) Each sconce measures approximately 12 1/4" high x 9 1/4" across(end of arm, to end of arm) x about 4 7/8" across the back plate that mounts to the wall. I believe these are cast iron as they weakly attract a magnet. All the hardware is present with the exception of one of the little turn on-off buttons on the backside of one of the candlestick tubes. pair antique gold hand wrought iron wall mount electric ornate sconces fixture
This is a stunning pair of antique handmade gold wrought iron electric wall sconces. they are extremely ornate and done with an abundance of intricate detailing. It is completely made from lots of hand bent and welded pieces of iron and have a lovely gold finish. each sconce holds two candelabra style bulbs with nice iron chimney tops. the lids are mounted to hinges in the back and lock on the front. They open to be able to change the bulb, refer to last picture. they are all wired and in good condition. each measures 14 1/2 inches long by 12 1/2 inches wide and sits 7 inches from the wall. both in good condition. They have a little white paint on the back but hidden when hung.
