The covers are“held” in place by aluminum. Um, arms. There are also aluminum flourishes at the top and bottom of the chandeliers. There are six arms. Nice, and each holds six amethyst glass drops. These appear to be original. There is an additional drop in the center(these seem to be replacements) The pipe stems are covered in cloth cord. I also love how the arms sweep down and up. The chandeliers are an impressive 21-inches wide. They are 33-1/2-inches long(to the bottom of the cloth tassel) And 26-3/4-inches minus the tassel. If you need the fixtures shorter, I can reduce the length of the pipe stem a few inches. If you need them longer please contact me. I lusted after this exquisite pair for a long time. It was a thrill to at last purchase them. They are so very beautiful; I love just simply staring at them. Wholly restored and with new wiring. Impressive chandeliers I’ve ever offered, and abounds with amazing details: 1) The finial! Wow! Instead of the standard glass sphere. This chandelier has an intricate glass spear! Wow! 2) The five glass S-shaped arms have notches cut into the glass. 3) There are five additional arms which leap into the air. These hold a glass(not plastic! ring. The ring in turn holds double strands which swag out to the other arms. Elegant. Stunning! 4) The candle covers are not plastic. Nor cardboard. They are glass! Yes. Glass! I’ve never seen this before! 5) The glass bobeches(the disks under the candle covers) are unique. These are normally bowl-shaped but the bobeches here are more plate-like. And each has lovely details cut into the glass. 6) The candles sit in glass cups. And these, too, have lovely details cut into the glass. 7) Above the intricate glass stem is a large bobeche. The chandelier is clearly modeled after an Argand lamp. From Wikipedia: The Argand lamp was new to Thomas Jefferson in Paris in 1784. Which according to him gave off"a light equal to six or eight candles. These new lamps. While more complex and costly than the previous primitive oil lamps, were first adopted by the well-to-do but soon spread to the middle classes and eventually the less well-off as well. Argand lamps were manufactured in a great variety of decorative forms and quickly became popular in America. This fixture is. Obviously, a delightfully faux Argand lamp chandelier. The chain is original. As is the ceiling canopy. The exposed wire is cloth-covered like the original. I would say the the chandelier. At 17-1/2-inches wide. Is medium in scale. To me. Up for auction is an antique brass light fixture. Ceiling mount with a pull chain. I'm guessing it's brass. It is not magnetic. Looks like brass. Has a cloth cord. Black piece between the cord and fixture is plastic or bakelite. It uses a standard size bulb. I don't know if it works. I have no way of testing it. The pull chain does click when pulled. It's in good used condition. No cracks. Chips, or breaks. Brass shows wear, scuffs, marks, paint marks. It might be able to be cleaned/polished. I haven't tried, I'll leave that to the experts. I think it has character the way it is now. Cloth wrap on the cord has fraying but I don't see any bare wire exposed. The wire inside the cloth wrap seems to be cloth wrapped and not torn or frayed. A 1930's Art Deco architectural salvage Ceiling Light Fixture, complete w/ hanging switch plug. The is is an entire self contained electrical system for a room with only a ceiling drop; complete with switch and electrical outlet. In the early days of electricity. From about 1880 to 1930 and later for some, the houses were not wired for electricity. This is an entire circuit for a room with one ceiling light drop. Included is the ceiling light and glass, but also included is the original braided cord(2 feet or so) and original light and power switch that hangs from the ceiling fixture. With the one power source you could run a room from this spot. Dimensions- fixture hangs 10 inches long from ... moreceiling to bottom of glass. Glass is 7 1/2 inches in diameter; fit ring diameter for glass 4 1/8 inches; Ceiling plate 5 7/8 inch diameter; Mounting hole spacing 5 1/4 inches. The electrical components are all in excellent shape. Currently wired and working for photos. We have opened up the socket/switch mechanism so you can see how clean and excellent it is. With a little staining on the ceramic light socket. You can see how excellent the parts are within the original light socket. This is is excellent for an era correct installation in a historic home. Vintage Metal Chandelier Decorative Hanging Lamp Ceiling Light Fixture
This is a vintage metal chandelier hanging light fixture that measures 13" tall and 16" wide. I'm not sure what type of metal this is but it has a nice weight to it(5 1/2" lbs) It should have 39 hanging prisims but I did not get them when I purchased this item at a property auction. You could replace these or use the light as is. This light holds 5 bulbs and I used 40 watt candleabra bulbs in it. It has the wiring already run and was working when it was hanging. There is a small blemish near the neck of the fixture(see photo) it looks like about a 1/2" section of the ceramic was damaged. It measures approximately 28 1/4" long(from canopy to bottom of shade) The green part of the fixture is 16" itself. And the is about 13" wide. The opening of the hole is 8 3/4" Also included in the auction are 3 additional chain links, which would add about 5" of length. There is plenty of extra wire for the links if you choose to add them. Here is a really uniquely designed Antique Hanging Ceiling Light Fixture. Definitely one of my favorites! This fixture is from 30's or 40's and is a cream color with chrome accents. It hangs from a ceiling medallion and also has a cream rod between. Measures approx. 15" in diameter and 13" to the top of the rod. There is an additional 15" to the top of the ceiling plate. You can add more or less chain as desired. Still has the cloth wire so it will need to be rewired. It looks like a fairly simple fixture to rewire. You will find tiny chips along the interior of the glass(doesn't show once placed inside) You will also find a few spots of paint that has rubbed off along the edge. Not too bad for such an old fixture in original condition. Antique Ceiling Hanging Light Fixture Chandelier 5-Bulb Electric Brass Metal
For your restoration pleasure. Here is a lovely antique ceiling fixture. Mixed metal construction, the socket covers, bottom body, and ceiling rose are brass, the arms are probably pot metal, and the upper body part is steel. It measures about 18" across at the sockets, hangs down approximately 16" from the ceiling to the end of the finial. All five sockets include the shade screws and the individual switches are intact and seem to work properly. The lamp will of course need to be rewired. And it has developed a fair amount of oxidation, tarnish, and finish loss. Other than that, the fixture is in remarkably solid condition, should restore to a show piece or could be enjoyed as found if you appreciate a shabby, original look. These are a matching Pair of Antique Hanging Lights or Chandeliers with matching cased glass orange shades. They are in very good condition. There is some paint on the ceiling mounts that need to be cleaned off. There are no chips or cracks to the shades but there is a spot that has been ground down on the rim around the fitter on one shade. It is hardly noticeable and undetected when put into the ring. The shades are cased with orange and white faded colors on the outside and white on the inside. The shades are 4"long x 5"wide. The light hangs down 18" to the socket and 24" to the bottom of the shade.

This is a really beautiful antique light fixture. It is a hanging ceiling mount chandelier type fixture for restoration. I think it is 1930's and has an art deco look to it. There is a clear glass shaft with really thick glass. looks much thicker then normal glass shafts. It holds 4 standard bulbs. The glass arm measures 12.5 inches long. Overall 34.5" inches long. The frosted pink shade is 14" in diameter with a feather design around center of shade. This fixture is a double light socket. Light also has a clear glass center column and clear glass top bowl. The frosted pink shade has 2 small chips on inside edge of shade(shown in picture#11) I left the dirt in those 2 chips so they would be easier to see. However they really don't show once cleaned. I tested this fixture and have a few pictures to show it while lit. It really has a nice glow. I did notice though the wires up in the chain have a couple spots where the cloth coating on the old wires has deteriorated. So this light will probably need rewired. This is a truly beautiful stained glass light fixture. It has wonderful green. Pink, and yellow colors. The shade measures about 18 inches in diameter and has a depth of about 12 inches. The chain is large and has been left with its vintage petina- looks great. The ceiling canopy has a vintage brass patina as well. The glass is all there and is from the 1920's era. There are a few of the pieces with cracks/chips. But, has great presence and displays exceptionally well. The socket housing is vintage and in great condition.
