All new modern sockets and wiring but with high quality brass casting and design. This is a large fixture and the pictures may not convey the scale. It measures 63" tall x 33" wide. It is perfect for a Victorian entryway or stairway. You would need tall ceilings for this one. Check out the pictures. The detail is beautiful. Cast Griffins and torches are right out of the 1800's. This fixture is not marked but in excellent condition. The 5 brass arms have gas key turns and nice solid brass shade holders in a period style. Shades are hand tooled glass. The design on each shades is of flowers and trees repeating around the base. The shades are French and marked"CVV Vienna and Made in France" They have a wonderful blue tint at the ruffle rimmed top. Each measures 8 1/4" wide x 5 1/2" tall. Perfect scale for this size chandelier. Antique Vintage Light Fixture Gas And Electric Hanging Fixture No Shades
Here is a great old gas/electric combo fixture. And all of the gas plumbing appears to be intact. The finish is worn over the entire piece, all components except for the gas plumbing are brass. The gas valves move freely, though there is no wiring at the moment. One of the sockets is frozen, so the pull chain doesn't move. A complete rewire is needed anyway, so all of the issues can be addressed at that time. There are no shades included. And there are 2 fitter screws that are missing. The fitter size is 2 1/4" for the electric, and 1 1/2" for the gas shades. The finial appears to be a replacement(see pics) There is a nipple at the end for mounting/gas connect. Adjustable Base. Uses standard light bulb or floodlight type. Brass name plate on the base. Large in size- 13" in diameter. The fixture can be mounted flat. Upside down or on either the left or right sideways. A very unusual and hard-to-find light fixture made by Westinghouse Electric& Mfg Co prior to 1945. I know this as the floodlight has a brass plate on the base with the Westinghouse name. Style number and watts. Westinghouse changed it's name in 1945. The style number is 786740-B. Watts are 150-200. Another unusual thing about this light has a thick glass cover or lens. The lens is attached with an expanding ring that ... moreencircles the outer edge of the fixture shade and lens. I put a standard 50 watt bulb and an electrical plug and everything works great. A larger bulb or even a flood light bulb can be used depending on what the end use of the fixture is to be. The base has a wingnut adjustment so that the angel of the light can be set as desired. There are a couple of spots where the enamel finish is missing and the glass lens is chipped on one edge(see pic) The electrical cord is 7-8 ft in length and the plug is brand new. The lens is marked'W' and is the fixture for Westinghouse. My lengthy research failed to find another exactly like this one. The center of the glass lens is like bubble. It's not a break or a crack. This auction is for an antique Welbach gas light fixture. I belive all the parts are intact except for the original glass globe. The piece measures about 8 inches in length from top to bottom. The bottom(where the light globe would be) has an opening of about 3 inches in diameter. This piece is very well marked. It reads Welsbach Co. Antique Gas Light Fixture Arms with Burners, Valves, parts
Up for bids we offer two antique gas light fixture arms that were recently found in an attic of an old house. They were likely part of a large. Single fixture but could be wall mounted without much effort. They both have burners and working valves are just as we found them. They show lots of age and each has a thin stress crack and other wear and tear that can be seen in the photos. Each are 7 3/4 inches long, not including the shade holder on the burner. The cloth covering on one set of wires is disintegrating but the wire underneath has a modern plastic jacket. Someone replaced the sockets and the shades. Shades are cut glass and the bowl shade has a nice single clover detail amongst the diamond cuts. Lights can be wired together or switched individually. This magnificent example of vintage copper outdoor lighting measures in at approximately 22.5" tall and 10.5" wide at top cross bar and 6.5" at bottom cross bar. The post hole shaft is approximately 3.25" wide along with the elegant laced sconce holder. The crude and rustic construction of copper sheet soldered together is typical turn of the century style. I would date this piece pre 1920's. I was told this came from a historic area in Pittsburgh. Pa. Oakland is known for it's Victorian architecture and boasted an abundant display of these types of lighting fixtures throughout the late 19th and early 20th century.
