One sconce still has the gold gilt leaf on the wall mount and on the scalloped candle arms holder. The other one is still showing mostly silver paint which has been on for a long time and has the Gold Gilt Leaf showing through the silver paint. No damage or repairs on either one. I believe they could be solid bronze but can't guarantee it. There are two top candle drip pieces that screw off and were stripped years ago showing the old solid bronze metal(Pic. 5- 8) It also shows through in different areas on both sconces. All 10 top 2 piece drip plates unscrew off for easy cleaning. These were bought out of an old Hotel which was being torn down. The two Candelabras were mounted on the sides of an old Marble Top Fire Place Mantel. They are complete and ready for mounting. One has the two original wall mounting brackets and the other one has only the one(Pic. 11& 12) These will be beautiful if refinished. They are also beautiful in the condition they are presently in. Entirely up to the buyer. This is a very useful set and would look lovely in a restored Victorian Home. Please see all pictures and ask any questions. Be sure to use close up. I am not an expert on Guilted Bronze Items but these appear to me as Bronze but I can't guarantee it. So, be sure to ask me any questions before bidding. At first I thought they were cast iron but now I am not sure. With the two top pieces stripped and definitely being either brass or bronze and seeing a brassy/bronze metal look under the layers of old patina and paint. They could be bronze. I believe this is an early French fixture which was completely restored in the 1980s. Solid bronze, very heavy. Overall good condition. One drop shade is cracked and repaired. Another shade with several small chips. Oxidation to the gilt surface. Especially around the drop bulb sockets. All wiring is good. GORGEOUS PAIR OF ANTIQUE FRENCH GILT BRONZE& CRYSTAL DROPS WALL SCONCES This gorgeous pair of antique gilt bronze French wall sconces are hung with faceted crystal drops that catch the light and shimmer beautifully. There are three curving hoops on the back plate each one having a crystal drop held with beads and glass floret. The curving arms have acanthus leaf decoration holding further crystals held with glass florets. There is an electrical candle fitting above a pretty and decorative foliate drip tray and they have a lovely warm gilt patina. Dating to the early part of the last century they are in excellent condition and working order. There is a bar at the back of the wall plate for wall mounting. They measure 9 ins in total height. I have for auction this fabulous gilt bronze traditional hall lantern. It is french and was found in a house clearance here in the South of France, so it is vintage, I have not cleaned the lantern except for the glass, I understand that some dealers do not like their metal ware cleaned, but I am sure it will be much brighter still with cleaning if you want it to be. I would think it will date to C1930s, it is wired for use, but this is old wiring and with all second hand electrical items, it is always wise to have this checked out before use, it is designed to take two standard edison screw type light bulbs, the light bulbs displayed in the chandelier are for display only and are not part of this auction. This classic style of hall lantern is highly sought after at present, you often see them displayed in beautiful homes in the high end interior ... moredesigners magazines, adding great style and class to any entrance hall. This lantern is a beautiful early example, it is lovely quality, it would have been very expensive when first purchased. What I love so much ab out this lantern is the wonderf u l glass cylinder shaped liner. The glass has so much charact e r. That you get with early glass, such as the wavey fluid like effect. It emphasizes it's age and adds great charm. The maximum drop from the ornate ceiling rose is approx 19.5" or 50cms, this could be easily lengthened or shortened by adding or removing chain, the diameter is approx 7.25" or 18.5cms. It will date to the late 1800s, it came to me through a house clearance here in the South of France, as you can see in my photo's, this chandelier is for candles, as it was originally, in approx the 1920s/1930s it was wired for electricity, but this wiring was so old and distressed. It literally d i solved in my hands. So it has been removed and put back to its original state, I still have some of the old bulb holders and faux candles from the 1920s. FABULOUS lot of 3 old French 2-light wall sconces. They feature detailed ribbon/flower/rosettes surrounding old silver backed mirrors. They came out of the British ambassador's home in Portland. OR(when we had an ambassador) and are VERY charming. I have shown what they look like with shades(not included) They measure approx. 11 1/2" tall(from top of candle to bottom of fixture) x 8" wide. They weer rewired in the 70's(I was told) and work perfectly.

Henri Vian was famous for his bronze work, particularly lighting. He exhibited at the Paris Universal Exhibitions in the late 1800’s and early 1900’s. His wife took over the running of the foundry after his death until C1941. I would say that the sconces are dated to the early part of the 20 th century. They are in beautiful condition. With just a faint mark to the mirror of one of them. The faux candle sleeves are in plastic, one of them is cracked. They take a small screw light bulb. They are 30cms long or 11& 13/16” At the widest point of the mirror sconce. The chain and canopy are 16 ins, and it is 21 ins in diameter. VTG LARGE 27" SPAIN GILT BRONZE BRASS FRENCH EMPIRE DIRECTOIRE WALL LAMP SCONCE
Absolutely beautiful vintage sconce. Dating to the 1940s or 1950s. This LARGE, electric wall sconce was made in Spain. It is either a gilt bronze or gilt brass(Spain used both widely at the time) The sconce is in French Directoire/Empire style. It features 3 curved arm with"trumpet vine" abd floral medallion accents. The vine does lend a trumpet/horn appearance to the arms. A long, pineapple topped torch runs the length of the sconce. It is draped with ribbon and bellflower swags. It has two tassels at the bottom and two, circular, ribbon bows at the upper section. The bobeches are in acanthus pattern and acanthus leaves are present on the under side of each arm. The sconce is very nicely made and it is very heavy. It is in good, ORIGINIAL condition and has not been repainted. The gilded finish is still present on most surfaces, ... morebut there are a couple of areas with an aged patina. The wiring has been updated and the sconce is in good working order. It does need a brass wall mount screw. It will use 3, candelabra style bulbs. It is stamped"Made Spain" on the back. The sconce is very large. The eight electric candle fittings are set on delightful pierced drip trays with a further tray on the top of the pretty central baluster columm. It has a gorgeous warm old gold patina acquired through the passage of time and the wiring is good having a central column re-wire and so is ready to use. It measures 26 ins in height. Ormolu and opaline glass floral three-arm candelabras table or mantle candle sconces garnitures, 19th c. in the form of tall sprays of Easter lilies. Each garniture has four glass flower blossoms and three candle cups. The pedestal urn bases are each adorned with a red cabochon jewel. Note: small losses including a couple missing flower stamens.
