The milk glass cylinder shades slip on and cover the sockets. There are two light bulbs included. I tested them and they are both currently working. The metal brackets used for securing the fixtures are also included. These are in nice condition overall. There is some age wear. The chrome may shine up more with a polishing. There are some minor paint drippings that are around the perimeter. I have only lightly dusted these. The finish is a little dull. But there is no pitting, rust or damage. These do have different switches on them. I haven't tested these, I am really not handy with electrical wiring. The sockets are ceramic, so they are likely original. The milk glass looks good. There are no cracks in the shades. The bottom rim has the typical roughness of a glass shade. The bulb sockets on these take a standard size. These measure 17" long and 2.5" wide. They will extend from the wall about 2.25" These are sure to make a dramatic impact in any deco. Industrial, or machine age decor. 2 VINTAGE PAULDING PORCELAIN ART DECO BATHROOM WALL ELECTRIC LIGHT SCONCES
Here are 2 great 1930's art Deco porcelain wall sconce lights from Paulding. You will see in the pictures that they are in great condition. I have not tried to clean them and appear to be fully functional. The fastening screw is included and the pull chain porcelain end is also still intact. Very hard to find everything together. These also have the outlet on the bottom behind the pull chain. These can be wired 250v 10amp or 125v 15 amp. I have had some questions about the wiring so I have included 2 more pictures. DESCRIPTION: A vintage pair of matching Art Deco. Sconce style, wall hung bathroom light fixtures. They are 100% Complete, 100% Original, 100% Operational! I do not know the age, but am guessing circa 1930's. They both have a round bakelight switch at their base which allows for individual control of the lights aside from any wall switch to which it may be connected. The glass cylinder"chimneys" are large enough to accomodate regular size incandescent bulbs(I photographed one of them with a 60W bulb to demonstrate it's luminescence) The sconces appear to be nickel plated. A magnet will stick to them and the plating is thick. But please note that I am not a metallurgist. There are several design indentations located at several places on each sconce, in which it offers a textured surface that is in contrast to the super sleek ... moreshine of the majority of the surface area. The chimneys are a white milk colored glass(NOT frosted) and are evenly shaped cylinders. Important dimensions: Total Height = 8 1/2 inches. Chimney Height = 5 inches. Chimney Diameter 2 3/4 inches. Sconce Height(at the wall) 6 inches. Sconce Width(at the wall) 3 7/8 inches. Mounting Bracket = 3 3/4 inches Long. CONDITION: These matching fixtures are 100% operational. The condition of the electronics. Except for the wiring, is excellent for its age. I tested lights and switches on both lamps, and they performed perfectly. The sockets are in great shape. The bakelight switches have strong"click" advancement conditions and, as earlier stated, they work well. The wiring should be replaced. While the sconces probably can be polished, they are in excellent overall condition, with no flaws. The chimneys are similarly pristine, no cracks or chips. You are offered this vintage bathroom fixture. It is circa 80- 90 years old. Still working! It came from a 1920‘s house. Condition is good, with porcelain and shade no cracks. A few paint spots on shade. The bottom shade rim has rough finish, typical of these shades. This has a pull chain socket, which works. I have plugged in a lamp to show that socket also works. The pic on back shows heavy duty cloth cord. Looks like people may have plugged something more heavy duty back in those days. Rewiring is recommended, as it is all original. Check out all the photos to see the condition of this fixture. Metal sconce with bulb socket and extra plug. White Glass deco cover which measures about 5x4 inches. Sconce has several layers of white paint which probably needs stripping. Cover has a spot of dried paint on one side that can probably be easily scraped off. Covers fits securely into fixture. The glass is not chipped or broken. The glass should clean up well but the inside front is a little yellowed. Maybe from the heat of the bulb over the years. It would not be noticeable due to its location but I am just saying that it might not clean up to the original white. Obviously the wiring needs to be reworked before installing. The old socket appears to be okay but should be checked out too. Here is a set of three different art deco porcelain light fixtures. All are in nice shape with no cracks or chips in the porcelain. Two have the existing wiring with pull chains. One is just the porcelain piece itself. I have wiped down the front of them to give a better idea of what they look like. But have left the backs as they were.
