Vintage Pair Industrial Articulating Arm Wall Sconces Flat Opalescent Shades
For your consideration is this great vintage pair of articulating arm wall sconces. These sconces have three adjustment mechanisms each and all of them work well and hold position securely. They have a great old steel gray patina. Which has a clear coat to protect and enhance the sconces. The shades are vintage 11 1/4" flat white opalescent shades in good condition, they have some little bubbles from the manufacturing process and one tiny place I believe was a bubble on the surface that looks like a tiny chip, it is under the shade and not noticeable. The light have been rewired with black twisted reproduction cord and have bakelite Eagle plugs. These industrial lights were made to attach to a work bench or machinery, so they have been attached to a new wall plate and are ready to hang and enjoy. If you like French then these vintage wall sconces are for you- this is a pair of brass 3 arm wall sconces with handpainted Sevres style medallions depicting a courting couple. The brass has a nice aged patina. At the top the brass is a basket of flowers then they have criss cross pattern that continues down to the arms of candleholders. The medallions are on each arm so 6 total-the brass work around the arms are very ornate and very much in the French style. Title C19th Bronze Dragon Wall Candle Sconces, This is an exquisite pair of 19th century candle sconces in gothic style. The detail is superb with a dragon on each arm. Each supports a shield with one front leg. Behind each dragon is a tower with a flame at the top. They are made from solid bronze with a makers mark on the rear which appears to resemble an acorn with oak leaves below. They are also stamped: Dep Muster- this may be a patent mark. They were discovered at a brocante in France and would have originally graced a very grand piano. The arms are fixed with bolts which allow them to swivel. Pair of 19th C Double Arm Candle Wall Sconces w Cut Glass Hurricane Shades
This is a gorgeous pair of candle wall sconces. Each sconce consists of two elaborate removable cast brass arms that fit into a cast mount on a finely carved wood shell back. Each arm holds an early blown seeded glass hurricane shade that is beautifully cut with tiny stars and a patterned band. Measurements: The glass socket is encased in a brass mount that measures 1 1/2" wide. The carved shell back measures 8 1/2" wide by 8 3/4" high by 4 1/4" deep. Each shell weighs 3 pounds 7 ounces. Each arm measures 10 1/4" long by 4 1/8" high. Each arm weighs 1 pound 3 ounces. The shades measure 9 3/4" high x 5 7/8" wide. Impressive and rare Antique French double arm bronze Candelabra wall sconces dated 1860. Stunning style and shape. Unusual and unique design. Primitive and medieval wall sconces with large and substantial. Decorative scrolling arms, fluted candle holders and fixed firmly to a solid oak plaque. There are signs of dark and aged patina indicative of age and use. There is also a small split in the main candle stem. But there is no movement whatsoever.
