PAIR ANTIQUE Gothic Tudor Renaissance Revival WALL SCONCE lamps lights 1920s
I have up for sale a wonderful matching pair of Antique Vintage circa 1920s or there abouts Gothic Tudor Wall Sconces.Complete with original Amber Crackle Glass Chimney Shades. The underlying metal appears to be brass- with factory applied finish. The metal frame measures approx 14-1/2" with the amber chimney- the height is approx 16" The back plate measures approx 4-1/4" wide x 9-3/8" tall. Both sconce frames are in Excellent Original as found Condition! There are no damages and wear is minimal-the finish is excellent. No breaks. No cracks, Etc. The lamps will need new switches- as the old ones are absent. The shades are in very good shape. They have some minor nicking/ nibbles on the top rims but this is fairly trivial and not something at all noticeable. One shade has a small chip. Shown upclose in pic#10. They are ... morea heavy thick glass- and have excellent color and effect when lit. The bulbs that fit the lamp have to be the long slender type. You may have to screw the bulbs in from the top as the inner diameter of the shades are approx the same as the bulb and they will slide through the bottom but the sides touch on the lower section of the bulb. No big deal just do this from the top and no problems.They are old replacement shades-dating to the same era- almost identical to the originals-which are shown in my last pic. I have 3 more identical sconces- the only difference is that the shades on the set that is listed here are a bit darker in color and slightly heavier. From the same era. Iron antique beige wall light . Used earlier for oil lamps.
This is a nice old iron light that was used for oil lamps. It hooks to the wall and I have that bracket as well. It has new insides to be made electric. There is a cord but its not attached. We are pleased to offer this EXCEPTIONAL AND RARE DESIGN. Antique(c1940s) French wall sconce lamps. This grand pair mimic climbing rose bushes which are attached to center poles/stakes. The vines/branches and leaves are gilded iron tole with ivory/white porcelain roses in full bloom. Each sconce features 7 porcelain roses. The sconces are quite grand in size and measure 29" tall. They have ornate wall plates of gilded bronze or brass with a flower petal design surrounded with a beaded pattern. Long arms extend the sconces out from the wall for an even grander effect. The sconces operate with one regular sized, 60 watt bulb(not the small candelabra type bulbs) Each sconce retains their original harp and finial. The finials are also porcelain roses. This Auction is for 2 porcelain shade.2 glass globe and 2 complete brackets to hang from the side of a building or lamp post. These were made by Westinghouse and the brackets. The glass globe shade, the porcelain lampshade are all marked with the"W" The glass globe also is marked"made in USA" Very Rare Opportunity to own 2 Unique Street Lamps as fine as These! These maybe 2 of the finest pair of street lamps I have ever seen. The story goes they came from a train station here in Southern Michigan. They appear to be near flawless with the exception of one globe having a small piece of metal lodged in it. Possibly from being shot at and no further damage to the globe as far as cracking or spidering appears(as seen in photo) the other globe is 100% perfect. The brackets that hold the globes on appear to be made out of brass ... moreor bronze The rivets that hold the hardware to attach the lamps have no damage on them as far as cracks or otherwise. These two lamps appear to be 100% complete all brackets, seals, clips are in place with the exception of one white porcelain insulator(that would go on the metal socket) on the inside of the fixture as seen in photos. Where the long pipe bracket connects to the top of the porcelain shade on both Street lamps appears to be flawless, has a set screw threaded to pipe also shown in photos. All of the pipes brackets and hardware including rivets appear to be flawless. These two lamps would probably work as is however I would recommend having them professionally rewired. Offered here is a unique pair of cast brass and smelter wall lamps. Fitted with new stylistically appropriate damask shades. Pieces such as these were usually made in the United States, and this particular pair was made around the 1930's. These pieces have been carefully rewired, cleaned and restored by our restoration staff.
