Very Ornate with Scrolling Leaf ... moreDesigns and Turning Swirls. Both with 5 candle holding arms. Very attractive pair of early Wall Sconces or Candelabras. No markings found. One sconce still has the gold gilt leaf on the wall mount and on the scalloped candle arms holder. The other one is still showing mostly silver paint which has been on for a long time and has the Gold Gilt Leaf showing through the silver paint. No damage or repairs on either one. I believe they could be solid bronze but can't guarantee it. There are two top candle drip pieces that screw off and were stripped years ago showing the old solid bronze metal(Pic. 5- 8) It also shows through in different areas on both sconces. All 10 top 2 piece drip plates unscrew off for easy cleaning. These were bought out of an old Hotel which was being torn down. The two Candelabras were mounted on the sides of an old Marble Top Fire Place Mantel. They are complete and ready for mounting. One has the two original wall mounting brackets and the other one has only the one(Pic. 11& 12) These will be beautiful if refinished. They are also beautiful in the condition they are presently in. Entirely up to the buyer. This is a very useful set and would look lovely in a restored Victorian Home. Please see all pictures and ask any questions. Be sure to use close up. I am not an expert on Guilted Bronze Items but these appear to me as Bronze but I can't guarantee it. So, be sure to ask me any questions before bidding. At first I thought they were cast iron but now I am not sure. With the two top pieces stripped and definitely being either brass or bronze and seeing a brassy/bronze metal look under the layers of old patina and paint. They could be bronze. It originally had a central oil lamp with a ring of 9 candles around the perimeter. The oil lamp is now converted to hold an electric bulb. The bronzework on this chandelier is superb. With massive construction and fine Louis XVI styling and details. It is nicely patinated to a medium bronze color and we did not attempt any restoration or polishing. This is a counterweighted chandelier that can be easily adjusted up and down. However, the adjustment chains are short and not much adjustment is presently available(replacing the chains would solve this if additional height adjustment is desired) The wiring and socket are old and in poor condition and must be replaced before use. Check out my! BEAUTIFUL HUGE ANTIQUE FRENCH CHATEAU LOUIS XV GILT BRONZE 3-BRANCH WALL SCONCE This fine antique French Chateau wall sconce is magnificent. In heavy solid gilt bronze with a gorgeous warm patina. Dating to the late 19th century it is classic Louis XV with roccoco foliate scrolls and detailing. It has three beautiful curved branches carrying the electrical light fittings with the original wooden faux candle covers. It comes complete with three charming petite creamy white satin shades finished with gold thread passamenterie braiding. It is in excellent condition with no damage or repairs and is in working order although the wiring is old and so should be checked before use. There is a screw hold for wall mouning on the back plate and it measures 24 ins in height including the shades. 13 ins wide and stands out from the wall ... more7 ins. These sconces are believed to have been made in the early 20th century and were removed from a demolished Victorian house in Portland. They are intricately cast in brass and feature designs culled from the Louis XIV. XV, and XVI periods, in typical Victorian style. The chandelier is 23" Wide. It measures 32" tall, not including chain and cap parts. It is many cast brass construction which has various removable center parts and branches, around large screw core. The candle covers are okay but some have cracks or pieces missing and should be replaced to make it look perfect. The wiring to branches is on top of arms not inside like cheap hollow chandeliers. Up for consideration is a fine set of 4 or 2 pair of Antique French Wall Sconces. The sconces date from about 1910 or so and measure 14 1/2 inches tall by about 10 inches by 5 inches deep. This set consists of 3 arms on each piece with great casting and super casting. As with good fine quality French Sconces they are cast in many separate pieces. The backplate consists of 3 separate pieces. There is a lacey bowtie top cascading down and tying into the top of the torch with descending bell flowers in the center body of the torch. Very beautiful! We are pleased to offer this antique(c1940s) French. Louis XVI styled brass and crystal chandelier. This lovely, elegant fixture is LOADED with crystal details. The chandelier frame is brilliant brass, open cage design, with an incised, faux twist pattern on the arms. The frame is a delicate brass cage which is scrolled on the top and bottom. The frame attaches to the bottom of the chandelier in between each arm. The top of the fixture has a total of 8 large crystal florettes attached to the scrolled frame. There are 8 of the florettes toward the lower section of the frame as well. There are 3 tiers of crystal beaded chains which attach horizontally to the fixture. The top section of chain features a large, blue, raindrop crystal which hangs(vertically) in the center of the chains. The middle row of chains have a 4 bead crystal ... morechain that hangs vertically in the center. The bottom tier of horizontal chains do not have a vertical feature as the candle sleeves rise at this mid section. The bottom of the chandelier features 9 blue raindrop crystals. This is a stunning and eye catching chandelier! The chandelier includes original ceiling cover/canopy and several inches of original chain. The chandlier is in very good condition. There is expected aging to the brass patina in a few areas. But overall it is still brilliant brass in color. Florettes are in very good condition. Wiring is vintage, but is in very good condition and chandelier is working. It has a blue"Union Made" sticker attached to the inside of the canopy. There are no other marks. ANTIQUE FRENCH LOUIS XVI HUGE BRASS CUT-TO-CLEAR CHANDELIER / GASOLIER L@@K
This is a 19th century brass Gasolier. It's very large. It measures 44" high& 34" wide. The top canopy measures 10" across. The brass rim that the shade fits in measures 16" across. The frosted cut-to-clear shade measures 15 1/2" across and is 8" high. The hole in the brass top on the shade measures 2 3/4" across. This beautiful chandelier/ gasolier with the frosted cut-to-clear shade is from France and is heavy. It has a great patina on it. The wiring is old and should be replaced. I would think the light would work as is. But I haven't tried it. This originally used gas, but has been converted over to electric. All the gas valves are still present, and I'm sure could be converted back to gas. The shade does have a few small chips around the bottom rim. Which I believe is normal for these ... morekinds of lights. But it's nothing major. You can barely see them. You can mainly feel them when you run your hand around the rim. Also. I believe the chandelier is bent just a little bit, because when you put the glass shade in place one of the uprights next to it is closer than the other side. That makes me think it's bent just a little. I believe that shows in one of the pictures. I'm sure if someone takes the fixture apart, which I would think you would do to replace the wiring, it would be an easy fix. The canopy is very large on the top, and is beautiful. The two place candle pieces that hold the bulbs are broken, but can be replace easily. I will be shipping this in two different boxes to insure the shade doesn't get broken. I really have no idea what this gasolier is worth. But I do want to sell it. I'm putting a"buy it now" price on it, but if it's more than you think the chandelier is worth please be sure and make me an offer. They were installed in my old home and I have moved- thought I would use them but have gone more modern! So my lovely lights can now be yours! They feature ribbons. Swags, urns and floral accents. Magnificant Antique(19c) Hand Blown Chandelier with French brass. Baccarrat/ St Louis. Approx 38 inches tall by 28 inches wide. This exceptional chandelier was created by a master glass blower. No missing prisms. Each bobech has at least 32 alternating stripes and edge is accented with a very tight red twisted cane. The twelve arms(six up and six down) are latticino style. The arms that fit on the upper level are smaller than the arms on lower level. Chandelier can be disassembled(arms and bobech wrapped seperately) for shipping to its destination. Each arm is secured into a loop on the inside of the frame. Not originally electrified. It has been electrified by running very thin wiring along the arms. This could be converted back to candles. Pair 1880's Antique French Louis XV Rococo Style Bronze Wall Candelabra Sconces
Up for auction is a Gorgeous Pair of 1880's Ornately Detailed French Style Heavy Bronze Guilted Wall Candle Sconces. Very Ornate with Scrolling Leaf Designs and Turning Swirls. Both with 5 candle holding arms. Very attractive pair of early Wall Sconces or Candelabras. No markings found. One sconce still has the gold gilt leaf on the wall mount and on the scalloped candle arms holder. The other one is still showing mostly silver paint which has been on for a long time and has the Gold Gilt Leaf showing through the silver paint. No damage or repairs on either one. I believe they could be solid bronze but can't guarantee it. There are two top candle drip pieces that screw off and were stripped years ago showing the old solid bronze metal(Pic. 5- 8) It also shows through in different areas on both sconces. All 10 top 2 piece drip plates ... moreunscrew off for easy cleaning. These were bought out of an old Hotel which was being torn down. The two Candelabras were mounted on the sides of an old Marble Top Fire Place Mantel. They are complete and ready for mounting. One has the two original wall mounting brackets and the other one has only the one(Pic. 11& 12) These will be beautiful if refinished. They are also beautiful in the condition they are presently in. We are very pleased to offer this exceptional antique to older vintage. Light fixture. This gorgeous chandelier features exceptional craftsmanship and the finest in detailed design. The fixture is French, Louis XVI style in ornate gilt bronze or HEAVY brass with a gilt bronzed finish. The chandelier is rounded/orb with an opened, cage design. The detailing features a"mirrored image" in that the upper and lower sections have the same patterns but in reversed order. THIS IS AN INTRICATE, EXCEPTIONAL FIXTURE. The chandelier has 6 distinct panels. Each marked with a brass, fluted column. The columns have a top and bottom finial of a large acorn. Above and below each column is a large brass banner/flag/drape with ribbon accents and beaded borders. Above and below each banner is an acanthus leaf. Attached to the front of the columns are ... morelarge floral medallions. These medallions have flower centers, detailed leaves which come from behind the flowers, and a ribbon bow accent above and below. The panels are connected by a large French wreath with drapery and swag detail. The wreaths are featured on both the upper and lower sections of the fixture. The top and bottom are both incised with an elongated egg and dart design which, with the placement, appear as large flowers. Both the top and the bottom have beautiful and large finials. Inside, the fixture houses 6 lights. The lights are"torch" design with ornate light socket housing. The lights alternate in height with every other light"torch" raised. The chandelier still retains its original, ornate chain and heavy, beautifully patterned, ceiling cover/canopy. There are no makers marks or stickers on the fixture. This is an older fixture dating to the 1930s to 1940s. It is very well made and quite heavy. It is in very good condition with very little evidence of age. A very fine antique. Circa 1920's, French Louis XV style brass chandelier. The fixture has a brass circular frame with three satyr masks below the coiled brass arms with frosted glass shades. The frame holds a colored marble, or stained alabaster, dome shade. There are three cast brass floral chains to hang the frame that gather to a collar below the brass chain up to the original brass ceiling canopy. It is in working order with new wiring and plug for ceiling connection. From ceiling canopy down to dome brass drop finial measures 47" tall, the brass dome frame 18" diameter. The frosted glass shades are not original to the chandelier. They are without damage. Excellent condition: brass in original finish, no dents or breaks. The dome shade is without chips or cracks.

The pair of a gilded brass or bronze with exquisite and detailed patterns in the French, Louis XVI manner. They have a large, round center back plate with deep relief, neoclassical pattern. There is a ribbon detail at the top and a large, corded tassel detail at the bottom. Each has two lighted arms with flower pattern. Each arm houses 5 leaded, cut bead and spear crystals. Each arms utilizes one 40 watt bulb. In the center of the lighted arms is a smaller appendage that houses one bead and spear crystal. Each sconce contains 11 bead and spear crystals.
