The arms of the sconces slide inand out of the backplate and are moveable so they can be placed to suit your needs. They are finished on both sides of the arms. So they are beautiful from the side as well, if the arms are pulled in toward the center. The sconces measure 13 1/2" wide and 7 1/2" tall and stand out from the wall 6 3/4" as shown in first photo. Here is a pair of frosted shades that were removed from a home that dated from the 1920's. I'm not sure if they are original. But they appear to be from that era. The exterior is frosted and the interior is painted. There are a good amount of'flea bites' on the exposed edges. Check photos for condition. The flea bites along the lower lip of both shades are numerous but there are no chips from damage. These will be shipped in an over-sized box for protection. Architectural Salvage Antique Vintage Lighting x 2. I DO NOT know the age of these lights. But what I can tell you is that our home was built in 1870. I know that it was remodeled but I do not know when. We are updating the entire house now and I would really like these fixtures to go to someone whom appreciates them. They are very stunning and very eye catching. Each fixture holds 3 lights and as far as we can tell, they work well but that was on a quick test run and were never used on a daily basis but for the right person they would have No issues fixing any problem with them. The switches are marked WEBER. They turn pretty easy. The sockets hold a shade with a 2 1/4 in. opening. Featured is a fine pair of antique/vintage brass wall candle sconces with clear and frosted glass open top hurricane globe. These sconces begin with ornately patterned oval brass back-plate. The center of the back-plate shows off nice scrolled brass work. The arm leads into a long center-piece. The bottom showcasing nice hatch-patterns that lead into a carved brass finial. The top of the center-piece shows off three levels of curved brass fern-patterned leaves that the shade collar sets within. The shade collar is adorned with a frosted and clear glass shade with flower design. Top edge is clear and ruffled. The sconce design resembles a pineapple pattern. Antique or vintage glass herringbone type ceiling light fixture shade set of 2
Antique or vintage set of 2 matching glass ceiling light fixture shades with herringbone type thin glass. They are the 3 hole mounting type and are in good condition. There are no chips or cracks that I could see. There is some minor chips by the chain mounting holes as seen in the pictures. One of them has had a clear repair by 2 of the mounting holes and it is not easy to see when the chain is installed. They are 10 1/2" across and 5" deep. They have a herringbone type thin glass nice pattern and the color would work with any décor, kind of a cream or tan color. I have described the items condition to the best of my knowledge. The wiring(not by me) is modern, as are the on/off switches(I can replace the white switches with brass ones) The sconces are of high quality. Heavy, and largely made from brass. The center sections feature gorgeous wood veneer panels. The main bodies are mounted to wooden back-plates. I cannot know if these are original, or later additions(so that the sconces can cover modern electrical boxes) The back-plates have a center section in a vellum color; I’m uncertain as to the material, it might be vellum. On the back is some writing in pencil but I cannot read this. Alas. Under each socket housing(quite distinctive in shape) is a glass disk with cut edges. There’s also a glass sphere in the center. Top, of each sconce. I love the curvaceous shape of the arms. The sconces accept silk shades(not included) but also look well without shades(see last image) Impressively scaled. For your bidding is a gorgeous pair of Art Deco 2 Light wall sconces. The backs which are 7" in diameter are brass grating with a brass plate in the back that has been painted white. Each sconce has two lights/candles that are 6 1/2" tall with the original sleeves and pull changes to turn on and off(all working) The total length of each sconce is 9 1/2" The arms of the lights have swirled detailed designs and reach out 6 1/2" from the wall. The back plates of the sconces are held on by three nuts. There is a metal bar in which to hang them. They have the original wiring which looks to be in good condition. All parts are originals. There is a small amount of paint residue from years of remodels around the back edge of the lights that can easily be removed. Large vintage/antique milk glass chandelier. On pendant pole. Total fixture and shade measures 46 inches, from the ceiling to the bottom of the shade. The shade alone measures 10 inches tall and has a diameter of 16 inches. Would be great in a large room or area with a taller ceiling. The wiring has been redone, at some point, and the light fixture is in good working order, but, as with all vintage electrical items, should always be checked for safety. The glass globe has no chips, cracks or breaks. The metal pole has some discoloration/corrosion. This buy it now is for one light fixture, but there are two available. Two (2) Antique Vintage Ceiling or Wall Light Fixtures-Cast Metal and Brass
This auction features two(2) very unique antique ceiling or wall light fixtures. Constructed of both brass and cast ferrous metal. The base of the fixtures is brass, which is currently heavily painted over. Oxidized brass can be observed at the edge of the base and at the ceiling holes where the paint has been scratched off. The"canopy" is cast ferrous metal(a magnet is attracted to it) designed to appear like"roping" It, too is heavily painted, so I don't know the color of the underlying metal. The canopy is secured to the base with the large"nut" that also secures the light bulb socket. The light socket on both fixtures is the original Arrow 3134 socket and it visually appears to be in good. Working condition. Short pieces of wire are still connected to the underside of the socket where it was salvaged ... morefrom the ceiling. The socket appears to be constructed of copper and ceramic material. The dimensions of these two fixtures are: Base: 5-1/2" in diameter Cast Metal Canopy: 6" wide at the widest points Overall fixture height: 4-1/2" from the bottom of the base to the top of the canopy. These two fixtures are quite unique-I have not seen any that resemble them. They appear to be in excellent condition. I have not cleaned them. And I am selling them in the same condition as I acquired them. They definitely need to have the years of paint removed from them to return them to their original beauty. Antique frosted milk glass light fixture globe set of 2 vintage diffuser NICE!
Up at auction today we are offering a VERY nice set of two antique milk glass light diffusers. They are bell shaped. Measure 5 3/8" tall, are 4 1/4" in diameter on the bottom, and 2 3/16" on the top lip. Outside of these are a frosted finish, and the inside is glossy finish.They are in excellent condition for globes that are reaching 100 years old! They have no chips or cracks, but each one does have a tiny chip on the upper lip where the screws hold it into the fixture, but when mounted, you cannot see them, nor do they affect their function. They have a beautiful pattern, just look at the photos! Looks like a tulip pattern with round"bumps" around the bottom, with a 2 piece"ridge" then a series of arches, followed by indented ribs running to the top. These are so ornate its hard to describe them, you just ... morehave to study the pictures. These would be great for any restoration effort where authenticity is a must! Will be packed EXTRA heavily! This is a great find. I went to an estate sale. And this definitely caught my eye. This is made of cast iron, and is VERY COOL. The fixture holds two bulbs, one on each side of the round center piece. I have no idea just exactly how old this is, but I am sure that it is at least Mid-Century. Vintage Antique 2 Light Wall Sconce - GORGEOUS!
Up for your consideration is an estate fresh Victorian two light sconce. The diffusion of light from the cream colored shades is beautiful! Based on the wiring I would say this dates to the 30's or 40's. The metal(brass? fixture itself has a wonderfully bold. Almost Noveau like design which is complemented nicely by the floral bands on the cream shades. The light is in excellent condition. There is a tiny chip on one of the shades which you can see in the pictures which can hardly be seen when the light is hung. I gave the the metal a very light cleaning with a damp cloth. You could shine it up and make it sparkle or leave the nice old patina to show off its age. A perfect piece for a Victorian or older home!
