French Antique Armoire in Burled Walnut. Measures 7 feet wide. 6 1/2 feet tall, 2 feet deep. Has 3 doors with the center door being a mirrored door. Inside there are closet rods, some shelves, and one drawer. Hand carved detailing and exceptional burled wood. Purchased from France so the burled walnut is a little different than what you'd normally see in the U.S. It's a gorgeous heirloom quality piece that we'd love to keep, but we are moving and unfortunately don't have the right space for it in our new place. Unusual, tall and very ornate armoire that is one of a kind. The dimensions are height"93" Width"26" length"46" It is our policy that if we cannot authenticate an original from a reproduction. We go with reproduction. This is one of those pieces that the antique expert is unable to determine from 18th century to 19th century. The inside was at some point updated while yet the exterior and the magnificent carvings are very intricate and the wood itself is very old. Therefore, we are calling this piece a reproduction and selling it as such.

This absolutely stunning Baroque walnut armoire was purchased in Opio. France, 11 years ago by my husband and me. Our children are off to college, and we are downsizing, so we are selling a few of our larger pieces. Measures 96" tall. 86" wide, 28" deep. The armoire has two very large doors that swing open, and are secured with a metal antique key. The two drawers under the doors open for additional storage. Indicative of pieces from this era. There are not any'nuts and bolts' but instead the pieces fit together, and are secured and locked in place when the cornice is placed on top. I am happy to send additional photos. Incredible French Carved Single Door. Mirrored, Armoire/Wardrobe. Incredible detail all over. This one is from the mid 1800's, I do not believe it has been refinished ever, looks all original to me. You will see a few age marks here and there, and a few flecks of veneer off along the bottom of the door. In the last picture you will see the door is open to the piece and the left hand side is seperated, this is because a tightening bolt is missing. These pieces break down in several pieces and have to be attached, the bolt that attaches the left side to the crown, or topper, is missing, I will get a new one and have it in there before it is delivered to a customer. Beautiful 1890's French Armoire. Double doors with mirrors. Four drawers and space for a bar to hang clothes. I took pictures of all angles to show you the condition of the piece. It's large and comes apart to move. I do not have the four armoire bolts. You can get those replaced easily online. I have used this piece without the bolts. the 1890's key is not present. Stunning Antique French mirror wardrobe/armoire from the Belle Epoque Era
This has been in our spare room for several years and we absolutely love it- it is truly beautiful. Sadly we need to part with it to make way for a new member of the household. The top piece comes off above the mirrored door. And both drawers and shelves come off/out to make moving/transport easier. It is very sturdy, not a light piece. The paintwork is distressed and it was bought like this 11 years ago, and only the knobs and handles have been changed as they were in poor shape or not existent and 1 shelf added. It measures 252 cm high at middle point 124 cm wide. 46 cm deep plus the top piece sticks out another 25 cm as you can see from photo 2, but is removable. This excellent quality French antique double door armoire in the Henri II style dates from c.1900. The armoire has been painted in Farrow and Ball'Pavillion Grey' with'All White' highlights. And has been given a soft wax finish. With some wonderful features including a carved removeable top with finials to each side. There are reeded columns either side of the decoratively carved panelled doors. With ornate brass locks to the doors and handles to the drawer. The interior can be fitted with adjustable shelves or can have a shelf with hanging rails from front to back. There is an additional useful drawer to the base. This is a lovely 19th century fruitwood armoire. Its in lovely condition for its age. A few old worm holes on the top, which you can't see at they are in the bit of the armoire at the back and on the top, but are old holes and has also been retreated just in case It has 2 glazed doors. And 2 drawers to the bottom. Inside there are 3 fully adjustable shelves. It is mainly in one piece, the top is off and the doors are off, but the back and sides are all joined. Its a large item. It measures 98 inches high, 19 inches deep and 55 inches wide. When we rescued it from a old Victorian-Era house located near the intersection of Houston Ave and Washington Ave, near the Heights and Downtown. That old house, which was located directly behind the Knapp Chevrolet Dealership, was sold and slated for demolition for expansion of the dealership, in 1966. This Armoire is in excellent restored condition. It has been refinished twice. Once in 1966, and again in 1993. The present color is Antique French Blue. The entire interior ... moreincluding the(5) shelves are covered top and all sides in pretty patterned embossed paper(durable also) The front side of the Armoire is embellished with carved Arabesque- and Acanthus-motif ornaments. There are(2) storage drawers at the bottom, each with(2) brass Lions Head drawer pulls. The door glass is thick and is smoke grey color. The back side of the Armoire was strengthened with 3/4" plywood, which covers the entire back. This was done in 1993, and makes the Armoire as sturdy as the Rock of Gibraltar. The armoire is very heavy and stout, weighing approximately 700-800 pounds. In order to move it, you will need at least(3) very strong movers, along with suitable padded dollies and a trailer. Better yet-have a 3-man mover do it. It's a real bear to move. The top crown is not permanently attached, to allow for easier moving. We have used this Armoire mainly for china storage. It would also be perfectly suited for a music system cabinet. An art curio cabinet, or for books. The shelves are 15-5/8 inches deep, front to back. The shelves are fully adjustable on shelf brackets. Each door opening measures 19-1/2 x 58 inches. Each door measures 20 x 58-1/2 inches.

I am selling this beautiful armoire. Which I believe to be of French origin, sometime in the 19th century. This piece is made of solid cherry wood. And has some scratches/dings and discoloration(mostly visible in pictures provided) This armoire breaks down into 7 pieces- the bonnet. Bottom, sides, back, and two doors are all separate and come apart for easier transportation. My understanding is that this piece was meant to be a traveling wardrobe for families when they travelled. I believe the glass is original. And it is the old fashioned bevelled style. Antique Mirrored French Armoire Picard Paris Signed XLNT Condition
Selling a gorgeous French mirrored armoire that was purchased some years ago at an Antique shop in San Francisco. The piece is signed on the back: Picard Paris. Faubourg St. Antoine" I'm not an expert on wood. But I can say it is solid hardwood and my guess is it's cherry or perhaps walnut. Doesn't look like oak grain to me. But again, I'm not an expert! The armoire has two doors with beveled mirrors on each. Beautiful carving along the top and bottom. Inside there are three shelves, two small drawers at about middle height, and a single larger drawer near the bottom. There is also a single long drawer at the bottom, outside of the armoire doors. Very Large Antique French Empire / Canadian American Wardrobe / Armoire L@@K!
A very large French Empire wardrobe or armoire circa 1850-1870. Past down by decent in the same French Canadian family and then through marriage to Norwegian American relatives in the 1920's. Made from beautifully grained mahogany veneer over pine secondary wood and always kept indoors. There is absolutely no fading of the rich wood colors. It is approximately 87 inches high. 24 inches deep, and 61 inches wide, and is in excellent overall condition. Only minor veneer chips as expected from age and use. I will give it a dusting and a coat of paste wax and it will be ready to enjoy for another 100 years. It is easily disassembled for transport thanks to the original wood keys which attach the sides to the base and the tapered wedges which lock the top to the sides.
