Featuring a hammered texture this wall sconce fixture set consists of two smaller sconces on either side of a larger sconce. Sconces appear to have been modified with electrical wiring and vintage electric candles. Electric candles have also been decorated with wax to resemble a candle with wax dripping down the side. Architecturally these sconces have a medieval sense to them reminiscent of Gothic decor and would not be out of place if used as church or religious decor. In fact these sconces were part of a lot of items that did come from various churches in Chicago Area. Please note: Black& Grayish areas on wall sconce is not two colors or fading. Just dusty of which I have cleaned. Just forgot to wipe it down before taking pics. Here’s another blast from the past during the Gothic Revival style in home décor during the 1960’s and early 1970’s. This Wall Sconce is made out of metal or what was called Pot Metal back in the day and painted over to look like wrought iron. However. This one may be painted cast aluminum. It has a flat satin paint finish and was a less expensive way to get the look one was after without the expense of genuine wrought iron, plus it’s also light weight when hanging on the wall so if it came crashing down it wouldn’t do very much damage to the wall or whatever lied beneath. There is no makers mark on the back. But it does come with a ruby red diamond pattern hobnail glass ... morevotive candle holder which glows beautifully when a candle is lit. The glass votive still has it’s original ribbed rubber band at its base so as to mount into the sconce without it slipping around. There are no cracks, chips or breakage and is in excellent vintage condition. This wall scone measures approximately 17-½” inches tall by 8” inches wide by a depth of 3-½” inches. 1970's Vintage Genuine Wrought Iron Gothic Medieval Style Wall Sconce
And here we have available this vintage wall sconce also from the 1960's early 1970's in the Gothic Revival style in home décor which is made out of what I believe to be genuine wrought iron metal. It is quite a heavy and a solid piece showing a natural texture finish on the front and a spade shape on top. It has a fluted drip plate and the candle holder cup has a scalloped edge. There is a gold brass crown piece around the candle holder part which I assume used to hold a tall glass cover over the candle which is missing. There is no makers mark. But it does have the number 1127 embossed into the back. It does not come with a votive glass candle holder since it's meant to hold a tapered candle of which there is some minor residue in the cup. It measures approximately 12" inches tall with the ruffled base 3" inches ... morein diameter. There are no cracks, chips or breakage and is in excellent vintage condition. Spanish Revival Gothic Wall Sconce Candle Holders - Genuine Wrought Iron
Here’s another Spanish Mediterranean Gothic Spanish Revival style in home décor during the late 1940's- 1950's and early 1960’s. This Wall Sconce is made out of genuine wrought iron. It has a flat matte painted finish and is very large measuring in at approximately 20-1/4" inches tall by 9" inches wide at the candle plates which holds two taper candles. The sconce measures approximately 4-4-1/2" inches out from the wall depending on your viewing angle and the curvature underneath the candle plate. Hope this helps. This is a PAIR of vintage wrought iron wall sconces- PLUS a third sconce that is a slight variation in the same pattern. But does not have a switch. These sconces measure about 10 1/4" by 5 1/4" They are made of heavy gauge iron and weigh about 2 1/2 lbs. each. I do not know their maker. But from various construction details it is obvious to me that these are factory produced pieces. However, the wrought iron is hand hammered with subtle variations in the details. From the wiring components. I think they likely date from the 1920's or 1930's. The original finish is a single coat of satin black paint which is now obviously aged and worn. The original finish(black and gold) was flaked off and rusty. So I cleaned it up, painted it flat black, and gilded and distressed the'curlicue' with 23k gold leaf. About ten years ago England and France and several other countries began tearing away old architectural elements from small homes cottages. Castles and chateaus in small towns and in the countryside in order to make way for more new modern and less drafty conveniences. As a result, lots of their architecture was shipped abroad to the U.S. to resellers and antique dealers by the container load. This Antique French Country rustic wall sconce made of wood and wrought iron with faux candles holder covers is part of this liquidation in history. This is a great primitive sconce, which would give that typical French country cottage feel to your home and fabulous decor for indoors or outdoors as well. I purchased this pair directly from a French seller ... moreout of Normandy. France who strictly sold only vintage and antique chandeliers, wall sconces and lighting taken from all over the French countryside, so I personally know these to be genuine. These primitive sconces are from the early 1900’s and taken from an old cottage style farmhouse. They are in excellent condition as measure approximately 7” inches tall by 5” inches wide on the wood backing plaques. They were previously wired according to French standards, but I have replaced them with more modern safe American standard candle bulb parts& wires. I do not know what kind of wood the back plates are made of and they may have possibly been added at a later date when the wiring was installed on the iron pieces. Not for sure on this and just my personal thoughts. They are in excellent antique condition showing some light to medium rust patina from having been kept in storage in a barn. They are not an exact matched set with on of the sconces showing the wrought iron curl being larger than the other. However, this does not detract from the use or function of these sconces. This rather unusual arts and crafts porch light measures 10 ½” tall x 5” square(add 7 ½” for chain) and comes with 6 ½” long hand wrought hook having a round cast iron 2 ¾” diameter base. The hook can be attached to either wall or ceiling so the fixture can also be a sconce. The shade of multiple small pieces of textured amber and slag glass is in pretty good shape with some bends. Dirt and 2 or 3 cracks in the glass. It is of unusual design with intended spaces between the metal wrapped glass. VINTAGE WROUGHT IRON/MILK GLASS OUTDOOR SCONCE LIGHTS
This wonderful pair of large antique sconces were originally used as oil lamps. But have been modernized with electrical wiring. The sconces are quite large, measuring 28" high from top of bracket to bottom of sconce and 13" deep. The wrought iron is intricate in detail and has been painted yellow and appears to be in good condition. Glass panel inserts are milk glass and are perfect. While these sconces give a Mediterranean appearance they would go well with any style house.

Very heavy wrought iron frame with a brushed silver finish. Picture#18 shows paint loss and the iron underneath. Metal red cone shape hood is attached to the vertical arms that hold the glass shade. These wall sconces were removed during our remodel of our 1937 spanish colonial house. Wiring is original cloth covered wire and socket is original but in excellent condition. 5 total. They are in excellent condition as measure approximately 7” inches tall by 5” inches wide on the wood backing plaques. They were previously wired according to French standards, but I have replaced them with more modern safe American standard candle bulb parts& wires. I do not know what kind of wood the back plates are made of and they may have possibly been added at a later date when the wiring was installed on the iron pieces.
