However, the fixture is not actually bent wood. It is molded plastic! Well, it was the 70s. I thought it was bentwood until realizing that there were no visible wires(save the vertical wire) How. I wondered, did they get wires inside wood arms? Then it occurred to me: the whole was molded plastic. And with hollow arms. The fixture looks like wood. Hence my belated realization. In any event, I liked the fixture even better knowing its true composition. Kinda cool. Very 1970s. There are five clear glass globes. And these sit in silver dishes. The original ceiling canopy(not shown) is included. The fixture is on the large-ish side. It is 22-wide. And the main body is 20-long. The length overall is 33-long. This can be adjusted up/down. So. Vintage Lighting 5 Bulb Hanging Chandelier Aldersyde Series by Virden 1930s-40s
Vintage Antique 5 bulb cast metal hanging chandelier. Manufactured by the John C. Virden company. The fixture is part of the Aldersyde Series. From the 1930's-1940's. See picture from their 1941 catalog. This chandelier is in excellant working condition. It has not had any restoration to the polychrome paint finish& retains the original antique gold patina as well as the green and red floral motifs. The original porcelain sockets are intact, the only known thing done to the wiring is it has been wrapped. There is an on/off switch on the base of the unit but it has been deactivated. Uses standard base bulbs, 60 watt max. Chandelier is ready to hang, no bulbs included. As seen in the pictures the chandelier works. We have been using it in our dining room for 3+ years but our home is more of a farmhouse so we recently(last week) ... moretook it down. This is a vintage Gothic hanging chandelier. The light/ shade is 23 inches long. If the tassel is included in that measurement. It is 29 inches long. This light has a 13 foot chain and a 15 foot cord. There is a slight stain on one of the shade panels. Please see the close up picture to view this stain. They are suited for a country retreat or rustic cabin rather than a finely finished interior. The vertical wire is new and cloth-covered like the original. Normally such style fixtures were used in kitchens. I can also see the pair. Close together, over a rectangular dining table. Or perhaps hanging low over a pair of nightstands(a great look) This matched pair is ready to hang. And comes with all the mounting hardware needed! The fixture measures approx. 12" tall overall(not including the chain) And the globe is approx. 7 1/2" wide at the widest point. There is approx. 4 1/2 feet of chain for hanging the fixture at just about any desired height. Enough to swag it as well if desired. The fixture is in good working condition. The ceiling canopy(escutcheon) is included. There are a few minor surface scuffs here& there. And a nice natural patina on the metal components, all consistent with age. RARELY SEEN VINTAGE LIGHTOLIER ONE LIGHT GOLDEN GLOW HANGING LIGHTING FIXTURE
FROM THE LIGHTOLIER COMPANY OF NEW YORK CITY CIRCA 1930 WE ARE OFFERING AN IRIDESCENT GOLDEN GLOBE HANGING FIXTURE WITH ONE LIGHT This vintage light fixture has much of its original factory finish and the color is called'Pastel Peach' ~ to me it looks like a light tan color. The chandelier measures approximately 36 inches in length and 10 inches wide. I do not know what type of metal the fixture is made out of. However, it is very light in weight. The canopy does have a couple of slight bends where it touches the ceiling, but this is not very noticeable because of the wall paint on the canopy! The electrical should be reworked prior to use for safety sake. The globe is in excellent condition with some minor chipping on the top edge only. I took a very large close-up of this area for you to review. All of the decalcomanias are intact ... moreand very colorful! This is a gorgeous vintage light fixture which provides'excellent light diffusion' To ship this light fixture safely. I will double box the glass globe. No packing peanuts!
