Notice the twisted spike that hangs down through the center. The cast bronze socket bobeches are threaded to screw on to the sockets, and appear to have a patent date of 1909. Please note that this fixture needs rewiring, and could use a cleaning. The ceiling canopy is not original to the chandelier. The actual chandelier is 18 inches tall. Including the spike down the center. It measures 21 inches in diameter. As pictured, it has a total hang of 23 inches total from the ceiling to the bottom of the spike. At 19 Curity Ave in Toronto. They also had a US presence at 6103 Longfellow Avenue in Cleveland. Ohio. You can Google search the latter. And“stand” in front of the massive brick factory. It is now long abandoned, and its countless widows broken. But it wasn’t that long ago that this factory– like countless such factories across America– was teeming with life. And supporting millions of families. This, back when America actually made stuff. I mean. Wow. The chandelier is rich with detail. And– drum roll please– retains all its original parts! The finial is dazzling! The bottom of the chandelier is stunning. Don’t miss the double dog heads where the arms meet the large ring. Cool. There are five incredible chains with leaf-styled disks. I love it! Above the chains is a dramatic double dog flourish! Note also the original. Distinctive chain… and ceiling canopy! The chandelier is from Virden’s Beacon Line. The main color is also original. A sort of graphite. There are selected components in a burnished gold. The chandelier is not actually restored yet. Vintage Spanish revival newel post light. From the iron staircase of the home.
A few months ago I listed a bunch of light fixtures from a GREAT Spanish Revival home up the street from me. The new owners are remodeling. And did not want the fixtures. When I got the first batch, they had not replaced the newel post light yet, but they just brought it to me. this is from a home built in the late 1920's. All the fixtures were hand made by a local black smith(NOW FAMOUS FOR HIS LIGHT FIXTURES HERE! I sold everything except 1 pair of sconces(I still have them if interested) this was on the front staircase that was wrought iron(also made by him) I have not rewired this. This just sets on a"pipe" and had 2 screws that held it on(missing) This is between 14" and 15" tall.
