Here is a dated(inside on socket area) a 1954 ceiling lamp fixture. In GREAT condition.has two sockets, very nicely detailed. The areas around the sockets are 4 inches round and flare out; the entire fixture is 12 inches long and 6 inches wide; is protrudes from the ceiling about 2 1/2 inches without bulbs. I am an antique junkie. I do a lot of traveling attending local auctions and estate sales. This is a lovely brass antique ceiling light fixture with three light bells hanging from an 8" diameter circular ornately decorated 8" diameter center with three 4" arm supports. The fixture is accented with original maroon paint and ornate trim. Included are the three unusual antique bulbs shown which I have tested and all are working. Antique Ceiling Light Fixture 5 Sockets Cast Metal Nice
This is a heavy and well built old antique cast metal light fixture that would mount and hang from one's ceiling. Notice on the round open metal filigree circle there is done in the metal two dragon type figures with scrolling tails. This round circle measures 3 1/2" in diameter. The top ceiling mount measures 4 3/4" diameter. With chain links support the weight of the chandelier fixture. This fixture supports five sockets each socket extending out on it's own individual arm. A very unique feature on this ceiling fixture is that each socket has a decorative bronze type inverted cup like plate that screws on around each socket for an added decorative look. One can remove these decorative rims and then on the inside of each remaining socket there is still three small screws that would allow one to attach to each socket a glass ... moreglobe for a unique and special different look using this same ceiling fixture. One would want to have this fixture rewired as the original wires have some bare places and the heavy bronze type metal could use a cleaning as the fixture is all complete but it does show that it has been stored where there was some moisture as there is minimal rust. This is a beautiful and all original old antique ceiling light fixture that is like having two ceiling fixtures in one with the two options of decorative coverings for the socket covers. Each socket is approximately 3 3/4" wide measuring the bronze cups that are screwed onto the sockets. Just the socket is 2 1/2" diameter and one would need a glass insert that was a smaller diameter than the 2 1/2" if looking for the glass shades, to allow the shade to slide into the socket. Approximate diameter across the light fixture from one socket the opposite socket is about 18 1/2" wide. This auction is for 2 antique/vintage hanging ceiling light lamp fixtures with a 4" fitter. These are all wired up and the sockets work great. You just need to find 2 bulbs to fit the 4" fitter and you have 2 gorgeous hanging ceiling light fixtures. They hang 18" from ceiling to bottom of the fixture. It appears to be all solid brass except the canopy may be plated white metal(it is quite heavy) It has two arms with sockets and the shade holders have holes with beads hanging from them. Both electrical sockets are marked" HUBBELL" and they both have acorn pulls chains. It measures approximately 12" long from the ceiling, down to the bottom of the beads x 12" across x 9 1/2" across the ceiling canopy x 5 1/8" wide(at the ceiling canopy) This fixture is in very good condition but the hanging beads were changed at one time, to plastic. There is only minor wear to the brass and there are tiny set screws along the edge of the canopy, but two are missing(one ... moreon each end) I see no dents or breaks to the brass. It has been re-wired, at some time in the past) and works fine. Both pull chains can turn it on or off. It throws a much prettier light then the photos show and has a terrific 1920's feel. This antique(probably 1930's era) ceiling light fixture is made of metal. Possibly copper or a copper wash over base metal for the circular portion. The arms and bulb housings appear to be cast and are probably base metal. The circular center cap was probably flush mounted to a ceiling(mounting screws or connectors are NOT present) Four hanging electrical housings with individual old plastic turn knobs on each hang decorative cast arms. The on/off knobs are black and are marked"Weber" There are no other manufacturer markings on the piece. The center round cap is about 11.75" in diameter. Excluding the arms. Diameter from the outer edge of arm to outer edge of opposite arm is about 16" The very old bits of wiring still present are obviously not usable. Up for sale is this wonderful antique ceiling lamp fixture. Constructed mostly of brass with a bronze finish. I believe the arms and finials are likely spelter or a similar metal. There are 3 Hubbell paddle sockets. This is antique, so you are going to see some wear, but this is one of the better conditioned fixtures I have seen. It is about 12 1/2" from arm end to end, tough to get an accurate diameter not including the arms but about 8 1/2-9" This is an estate find and is untested, I would assume you would look to rewire before using. I recently renovated an old 1920 two story house that had almost all original period lighting. I removed 22 old fixtures of which the majority was still working at the time of removal. This fixture came out of an upstairs bedroom. The light was working at the time of removal. The fixture is made of brass but has a cast iron finial. Is 12" in diameter and the sockets hang down 6 1/2" to where the fitter for the shades are at the bottom of the sockets. The sockets are Weber Fat Boys with paddle key switches. The fixture is being sold as is with the expectation that this item will be refurbished to todays electrical standards by the purchaser. The fixture is in the condition that it was removed with both dirt and paint on it which is mainly around the edge where it was mounted to the ceiling. Rare Antique Cephas B. Rogers Ceiling Mount Metal and Glass light 3 sockets gold
On auction today is. This was made by Cephas B. Rogers Danbury. Connecticut and the name is stamped in the metal on the back. Born 12/30/1836 Old Saybrook, Connecticut and was a silverplater. He was a partner with Gilbert and Wilbur Rogers from 1866 to 1903 in Meriden,Conn as C.Rogers& Bros. Much of Rogers Co work was used in Hearthstone Castle in Danbury,Conn. All of the wrought iron chandeliers, lamps, and wall sconces were made in Danbury by Cephas B. Rogers Co. Google it) Very interesting article about him. This particular light fixture is a ceiling flush mount metal ornate 3 socket light with a rod that holds the original large decorative glass piece. I believe that the glass was added in the 1940's era. This fixture is all original(not sure about the glass portion) with the cloth wiring(would need to be rewired for safety) It ... morehas a beautiful gold coloring on the base with patina as pictured. The metal base is heavy weighing in just under 6 pounds and measuring 12-1/2 inches wide. The glass has small chips which are pictured and a slight scratch also pictured. The glass piece weighs 3 pounds and is 17 inches in diameter. Overall in great condition considering this piece is about 100 years old. I am not sure if this piece came from the Heathstone Castle or not.I could not find any inside pictures of the castle when it was lived in back in the 1800's. I did purchase this item in Massachusetts. I do know that his earliest pieces were signed"CEPHAS B. ROGERS PATENT APPLIED FOR" which is stamped on the back part of the metal as pictured. The fixture measures almost 19" from arm to arm. It measures about 10" tall from top to the bottom of the socket(not including shades) with shades. It would be about 14 1/2" tall. The shades are 4 1/2" tall, 4 3/4" in diameter, with a 2 1/4" fitter opening. The chandelier is in very good condition. It has a nice patina with some tarnish. Mostly on the top that will not be seen, as shown in pictures. The fixture has been rewired and is in good working condition. It has four P& S turn switches and sockets, all four switches are working.
