They are bronze with two arms with a back plate that has a variety of themes. There is some panther heads that are peeping out from behind a shield. There are some Art Nouveau type floral embellishment in the center. A Gothic stained glass window type back drop with a winged Gargoyle on the bottom. Some of the sconces have a blue backplate and a few have a burgundy color. Both look to be original coloration. Up for consideration is a fine set of 4 double arm wall sconces. They measure 16 inches tall by 8 inches in width by about 4 or 5 inches deep. They are signed R. P. Co. on the back brace of all the sconces. The sconces are a wonderful urn shaped neoclassical vase with a cast bronze separately cast lower portion. The bobeche on each of the sconces are a finely thin cast leaves. Whereas each sconce has porcelain flowers and gilt tole embellishments growing from the urns. Vintage mid-century Virden aluminum bullet sconces (set of 2)
Vintage mid-century Virden aluminum bullet sconces(set of 2) An atomic age find in good used condition. These two matching light fixtures were replaced in a recent building remodel and were operational at the time of removal. They can be mounted on the wall or on the ceiling. There are no model numbers on the sconces. But they appear to be model V-6226 as shown in the 1959 Virden catalog(see photo) Known flaws: 1. One of the sconces has a bent edge. Which is visible in the photos. 2. On the other sconce. The light bulb broke upon removal and part of the socket remains stuck in the light fixture. I have not attempted to remove it. The light bulbs are not operational but I will include them upon request. The bulb says Reflector 120W/ 120V.

Up for acution I have an Set of 3 Antique(2) Two Double Light Electric Wall Sconces for Restoration. These were purchased at an estate auction as you see them. Except they were missing to screws that hold these 2 piece sconces together. I used new screws and because they were to long I add some washers. This is a Mickey Mouse set up that will need to be corrected. This is an easy fix along with the restoration of these sconces. The measurements are 8" wide at the widest part c 9 3/8" tall, and will pertrude from the wall 3 3/4" The metal is cast iron and there is no rust, chips, cracks, or repairs on any of the sconces. Recently acquired from an estate. This auction is for a fantastic antique set of 2 cast metal, art deco style wall sconces. As seen, with original wiring still in the one, these were electric and can be again. Measuring 9-1/2 inches long, 4-1/2 wide x and approx. 5 inches from the wall, the decorative areas on the metal is very unique, however, there are areas on both of these where the paint is chipping, peeling away, as seen in pics. (2) Set of Antique Double Arm Solid Brass Wall Light Sconces-Rewired-w/sockets
I used to polish all my brass lights until I learned. Not all buyers like the high polished look. Some like them just like you see these. If I polish them, I loose a little of the market of buyers because they like the patina left on the light. If you prefer yours polished, these would look amazing and it wouldn't be hard at all with just a little time and some brasso. I found these in the rafters of an out building at an estate sale. They wasn't in terrible condition but the sockets were pretty much toast. The lights used to have the type socket with a roll switch on each socket. One of the pics shows where the flange just below the bulb has the place cut out for such a socket. If you want, you could put this type socket back in it. The opening can be turned to the back so it can't be seen. I just think it limits as to where ... morethe lights could be used if the switch was on the socket. You could just turn it on before mounting them and the switch would then work them but most of the time these will be used where you can't reach the light to use that type switch. Anyway, it has brand new sockets and wire in it, so they are ready to use if this application fits your needs. These are solid brass and not plated. Judging by the sockets that was in them and the wiring, I'd say 30's or 40's but I don't think they are any newer than that. Beautiful matching set and well made. You should know their size by the pics I took with a tape measure. The shades are pretty common and you can still find many different ones to go with these. These are also versital because you can turn them up or down. Each shade holder only has 2 out of 3 of the screws that holds the shades in the light. Plenty enough if they are turned up, if you mount them turned down, you will probably need to make sure you have all 3 screws in the holder or the shade will fall out.
