And before, say, the mid-1950s, there’s a particular era of design that I have a great fondness for. This era, as yet, has no name. People just tend to lump it into the Mid-Century Modern category. However, a study of lights of this era reveals a very particular aesthetic. I can only assume that the men and women who created magnificent pre-war lighting fixtures were still around after the war. Imbedded within their experience was an artistic ability and color sense that was soon to vanish. What I find so attractive about this Era-That-Has-No-Name is the fascinating combination of the past and future. The future is represented by the basic design of 1940s fixtures; they don’t really look like pre-war fixtures. The past is rich colors and lush details. Nice Antique matching Floral Ivory colored ceiling fixture pr sconces Porclain
This is a very nice porcelain set with no chips or cracks. The pair of sconces have old sockets with new wires so they may or may not be ready to install that would be up to the building codes of were you live. They measure 6 7/8" inches tall. 4 1/2" wide, and 4 7/8" deep. The 2 bulb ceiling fixture is also in great condition it has old sockets and old wiring that may need to be replaced. The finial that is with this fixture is new I have added it to the set because it matched the fixture so well. It measures 11 3/4" long, 6" inches wide, and 2 3/4" deep. Stunning Pair of Antique Floral Brass or Bronze Wall Shelves/ Sconces

As one can clearly see they are beautifully crafted in a floral. Stem and leaf design. Although not an expert, I believe thay are painted in their goldish copper color and since there are a few areas where the paint has worn off, the metal below appears to be bronze. They not marked though I believe these may date to some time mid 20th century. The two pieces are solid and heavy pieces weighing approximately 5 pounds three ounces each. There is a little play when prompted between the top shelf and the lower floral area which is only mentioned for accuracy as they are held together by two screws. As aforementioned there is some wear along with some areas where the paint has worn off though not easily or initially ... moredetectable. These detailed descriptions certainly do ot detract from the general aesthetics or functionality of the set and are only mentioned for accuracy. One may say they have weathered the years extremely well and are in very good condition for their age. These treasures measure approximately 13 to 13 1/8 inches longest point top to bottom( not counting the two extended areas where the screws go in to mount the piece) x 6 1/4 inches across x 5 1/8 inches front to back if looking at them from the front. This is a very solid heavy pieces weighing approximately 10 pounds 6 ounces together so shipping will most likely be higher than normal. Beautiful matched pair of porcelain wall sconces by Porcelier. Taken from a house built in 1929. Mint condition. No chips of any kind, hand painted flowers appear intact, colors vibrant. These sconces are not in working order, they need to be rewired. It appears that most, if not all the original interior workings are included, for the lights) even the porcelain pull tabs. I do not have the hardware for the electric outlet on the bottom of each sconce. One of the tabs appears to have been slightly broken(it is shorter than the other) but I believe it can still be functional. There is some stray paint spotting the sconces, but I believe done during manufacturing as it appears to be under the glaze. This is an exquisite pair of antique handmade wrought iron floral wall mount candle holder sconces. they are cold painted by hand with nice color and have an aged look. each sconce has three arms which look like they are growing out from the back-mount. they have many handmade flowers of different colors and shapes throughout the sconces. they mount flush to the wall and each measures 15 1/2 inches long by 15 inches wide and sit 9 1/4 inches from the wall. they are overall in nice antique condition but do have ware to them refer to all photos.
