I am offering for auction a beautiful ANTIQUE SET OF GOTHIC AND ART DECO DIRECT WIRED WALL SCONCE CANDLE LIGHTS This set is stunning and in excellent condition for their age. The back plate that mounts to the wall and arm appear to be cast iron with a lovely gothic or art deco design. The uplip holder of the candle appears to be brass. Not sure but the finish is of brass. The candle extends up from the center of the tulip arm and has the original drip candle covers in great condition. The lights are wired and ready to hang. They are direct wired lights. Unique& Rare Antique Sconce Light Fixture Set From an old mansion built in the mid 1800's. And I believe it was original to the mansion. Heavy Brass& Wood weighs 3 pounds and 12 ounces each. Heavily etched face and very ornate pieces. Unique with carved wood in the back and brass on the front. One piece has been cut out in the back to expose the face. See photo 6) Will need to be restored/ rewired. The brass plate is loose in a few areas and will need to be adjusted on one light only. This is a simple fix. I believe you will have a very hard time finding another set like this one. Very unique and old. Heavy sconce that measures 18" tall 11" wide I lightly cleaned this piece. Two lovely purple flower painted glass sconces. These are very early pieces I believe because the glass has a ground edge appearance and inside painted flowers. Very hard to do this technique. The opening is for a standard 2 inch set screws that hold the outer ring. I think these can be used either way. Facing up or down. 1920's-30's porch light/wall sconce set from a historic home in Seligman. AZ. neither have their glass and both are missing their on/ off knobs. One is missing its metal wire protector. Being a small ranch and railroad town. A good number of items that turn up tend to be early era western style collectibles. These sconces came from a home decades gone, once on the main highway, US Route 66, now just a peice of history and memory. I did not clean, adjust, or remove anything to preserve their beautiful petina. Ceramic and brass GE bulb base, copper plated steel exterior, and an iron wall mount with the original cloth-insulated wiring mostly intact[though I highly recommend replacing prior to installation for safty reasons] A brief history. Vintage Tell City Chair Electric Wall Sconce Light Pair Set A4424 Antique Yellow
From a local estate. Here is a rarer set of Tell City Chair wall sconces. According to the stickers on the back, these are pattern A4424 in#89 antique yellow. These are steel with a brass and painted finish. Each sconce measures 12" from hanging tab to bottom(not including the glass chimney) they stand out about 5.75" from the wall. Both pieces are in good used cosmetic condition, complete with all parts and chimneys. Both lights work just fine but they have some issues with plugs and the bottom of the cord, I think just cutting off the cord end and putting new plugs on would take care of it. I'll send along the bulb that came with the set, maybe you can find a matching bulb or just buy two new ones. An interesting set. Very unusual, made in Tell City, Indiana, USA. This would be a great accent to your home to tie together your decor in a few rooms. A very large entertaining area, hallway and many other uses. Sets this large are becoming increasingly hard to find. This is nearly usable as it is but I'd recommend rewiring for safety. The way they would hang the tarnished areas wouldn't be too noticeable. The set truly does need complete restoration to look new. All light work well. All brass shows signs of age and possible storage with tarnish, minimal scratching, and light oxidation in a few spots. All candle sticks have cracking paint and are becoming brittle with 1 missing. All copper sockets work fine. I recommend updating wiring ... moreon all. 1 sconce is missing it's switch and none have mounting hardware. No real dings or dents but the center brass section on chandelier has a few stress cracks. You really have to look to see them. All nuts tighten well with exception of 1 on chandelier arm which is possibly stripped but still holds. That's all I could fine under close examination. A fantastic original Lightolier brand slip shade chandelier set in the rare Swag& Urn pattern c. 1920s. Set includes a 6 shade chandelier. 3 shade chandelier, 2 sconces. Both chandeliers have the original Lightolier stickers. This set came from a vintage home in the picturesque wine country of Napa Valley in Northern California. The house where these were installed was built in the 1920s. I purchased this set from the family of the original owners approximately 7 years ago and got to visit the home where they were originally installed. It was an adorable home with coved ceilings. Alcoves, built-ins and hard wood floors. The fixtures were uninstalled approximately 30 years ago and placed in storage. The chandeliers are entirely original with all original wiring still functioning. The sconces have been rewired. The frames have a polychrome ... morebronze finish and Art Nouveau styling with flower and shell design details on the frames. The custard glass shades have the Swag and Urn pattern and a lovely scalloped edge detail. Set includes: 1- 6 Shade Dining Chandelier 1- 3 Shade Entry Chandelier 6 light and 3 light chandelier shade size: 5 1/2" length. 4 3/4" depth, 4 1/4" wide 2- Sconces: 10"h x 6"w x 4 1/2"d Bonus: Including an additional single bulb hall fixture from the same home(fixture is designed to use a decorative bulb with no shade. See pic 12) Bonus: Extra sconce glass shade Condition This set is in remarkably good condition. Typically slip shades sets of this period will have lots of nicks and flea bites on the edges of the glass. Especially where the fit into the frame. I inspected all of the shades and only found two that had flea bites visible and a few small flea bites in the hidden part of the glass. A couple shades have of some stress lines in the glass that do not go all the way through. Most of the shades are perfect. These sconces are very fine quality and have like a Gothic, Arts& Crafts unique design. They measure 10 inches tall by 4 inches wide and extend from the wall about 5 1/2 inches. They have a wonderful, quality, VERY HEFTY" feel when holding them. The over all condition is quite nice. They retain their original rich and warm"untouched" golden bronze patina. Great matched Sconce set of 3 cast iron art deco wall lights with original glass slip shades. The cast iron fixtures have a great original bronze finish and are undamaged. The sockets look good but wire should be replaced. All three have a twist style switches that have good sounding clicks. The beautiful and original shades are in great shape they have only the usual scratches and minor flea bites around the edges. Overall good condition. Vintage Collectors Heavy Cast Iron Deco Wall Sconce Set
Beautiful. And extremely rare heavy cast iron, with original painted detail, though they could be overlaid, I believe with brass or bronze. In original condition with original paint. These art deco Knight Molded Sconce backplates are in vintage original condition dating back to 1920's or 30's era. They can be used indoor or out. With the exception of a chip on the top of one plate, they are in amazing condition.ready use or for restoration. Sconce weighs about 1.5lbs each and about 10" in length. A very nice find. To maintain the they're value and vintage integrity. I did not refurbish or attempt to alter, restore or clean in any way. This item sold"as is" unless condition is substantially misrepresented.
