Porcelier made some of the finest lighting fixtures and house wares(they closed in the 1950s) There’s a book on their work: Collector’s Guide to Porcelier China By Susan E. Grindberg This fixture is the most remarkable Porcelier I have ever offered. Here is why: Before the company closed in 1954. They updated their lines and created fixtures unlike anything previous. Like this fixture. Never, never had Porcelier offered an austere frosted white shade. Indeed. All their previous shades were dazzlingly elaborate. And their porcelain components normally featured stunning floral decals. But the porcelain components on this fixture feature elegant gold accents, and porcelain“leaves” on top with eight glass drops. Wow. While the shade is simplicity in itself. Note the oversize gold disk. It is porcelain. Yes, porcelain! And the gold is, I believe, real gold. Then there is the finial. This is a holdover as most Porcelier pendants and chandeliers offered the same wonderful. Hand-blown glass finial. I particularly love the white-on-white quality. I sell a number of these wonderful fixtures each year(see link below) There is a wide variety in terms of colors. Patterns, and details, but each Duplexalite comprises a single 300W socket, a glass bottom shade, and a large metal shade above. The fixtures throw a lot of light UP, and thus a highly diffused, flattering light quality is the result. You can even find Duplexalites in the White House! However. This Duplexalite is really rare. I have never before offered one so simple. And believe the fixture to be a last generation and dating from circa-1950. Well, I just had to have it! A hidden ring holds the glass bottom shade. The larger metal shade simply sits on the ring. As mentioned. The fixture accepts a whopping 300W bulb(Mogul base) The metal shade retains its original painted finish. And this is a pale beige. The metal components have a slightly coppery finish(also original) The heat from the bulb burned off this finish on the socket housing. It seemed foolish to refinish it, so I simply polished the brass. This will patina down. The fixture is now 37-inches long(and 16-wide) I cannot make it longer. From about 1905 to 1935. This particular set has unusually beautiful glass shades, and of a style that I’ve never before offered. The glass is quite thin, and has delicate designs cut(not frosted) into the glass. The effect is obvious in person and really striking. The shades are banded by pale gold/nutmeg frosting. Nice. I also like the lovely scalloped bottom edges. Like most stamped brass Pan fixtures of the era. This chandelier was painted originally. I have renewed the original nutmeg color. The sconces are now bare brass(how I found them) I can paint them to match the chandelier or ship them As Is. Please also note the two sweet finials on the chandelier(one on the canopy and the other on the Pan body) I love these type of small. Intact details. The wiring is new of course and cloth-covered like the original. For the hardware geek: On the chandelier. This is meant for the middle of a kitchen. ONE 6-1/2-inch wide 1-bulb fixture! This is meant for over a kitchen sink. ABOUT LIGHTOLIER Beginning in the 1920s. And for many decades thereafter, the Lightolier Company(extant today of course) made some of the very finest fixtures. Their designs were always simply dazzling, and the quality was the very very very best. When you restore vintage lights such as I do, these aspects are so obvious they tend to jump out. It’s always a particular pleasure restoring a Lightolier! The fixtures are typically Lightolier in being rather ingenious. The shades have little leg-like extensions on top. Creating a space between the shade proper and the chrome fitter above. The finial has pierced openings. The reason for all this? You can use 100W bulbs without the fixtures overheating. The heat from the bulbs will create an air current. This will draw cool air up through the openings in the finial. And out through the openings between the shade legs. Clever? I think so! The shades are also striking. The edges have very thin raised lines. And the bottoms have a highly textured, dimpled surface. Nice. The smaller fixture is especially adorable. Each glass shade has minor issues(see last images) The larger shade has two tiny chips. The small shade has three.

These are a matching pair of porcelain deco bathroom sconces(or wherever you would like) These Paulding wall lamps were made in the 30's and the design was produced into the 50's when they reissued wall lights from the same molds with polarized outlets. This pair has both sconces wired with an active outlet if you need one and they are polarized. It is your responsibility to ensure that these meet your local code. The original sockets-switches have been cleaned and lubed. They were designed to go on either side of the mirror above a sink. They will fit any standard box-4 1/2" wide by 6 1/4" tall ... moreon the backs. 7 1/4"tall with shades and pull chain, and stick out 4 5/8" from the wall. The slip in or drop in solid opal milk glass shades are damage free outside of normal manufacturing roughness. These shades were originally a choice for these fixtures unlike the clear glass with enamel coating shades which are often found for sale with this period style. This pair has a very small void in the casting that was glazed over so it was during manufacture. It is right below my finger in the 8th picture. The shades(at least one of them) are very opalescent and show a reddish tint. Not very noticeable but the price is lowest on this pair. These sconces are almost perfect but as I tried to capture in the last two photos there is a small crack forming by the outlet on one sconcethat is the only blemish on them. 4 Beautiful Industrial Age Green Porcelain Paint Pendant light shades from 1912. Three are in remarkable shape with very minor chipping around the rim. One has some chips and scuffs on the white interior. Please see the pictures. 2 have Brass Hubble light socket collars with patent dates from 1912. They have flower retaining screws as well. The other two collars are unmarked. These collars. Which are rare themselves, make it exceptionally easy to attach the shades to standard light sockets with threading on their exterior. If shipping is less than calculated I will refund that amount. The collars are original to the shades. They were part of a mill complex that was built in 1897.

Very nice pair of pink and cream porcelain sconces with floral detail and gold trim. They are both marked with a sticker on the back Porcelier. they are in undamaged condition but they do show signs of normal wear. The opalescent glass shades have the usual fleabite around the edges but are otherwise undamaged. Both fixtures still have there original porcelain pull chain finial. The wire and sockets look good but are old and untested. The pull chain switch has a good sounding click on 1 but the other sticks. Overall very good condition.
