Antique Light Fixture Outdoor Porch Ceiling Glass Metal Globe Vintage
Up for auction is an antique light fixture. Probable for a porch. Looks like an outdoor fixture. The fixture is metal. Painted white. The globe is white glass. The acorn at the end of the glass is cast aluminum. It uses a standard size bulb. I don't know if it works. I have no way of testing it. It's in good used condition. No cracks. Chips, or breaks. One very tiny chip on the globe edge that goes into the fixture, hardly noticeable. Some surface rust on the metal, paint worn/faded. Globe has scuffs and marks. Looks like a new socket has been put into it. Has the original screws that hold the globe on. It measures 12" long. Fixture is 5 1/4" diameter, globe is about 6" diameter, opening that goes into the fixture is 3 1/8" diameter. This is a really neat antique light fixture that would great as a porch light ... moreor hallway. Mid-Century Outdoor House Porch Lights, Carriage House Style, Curved Amber Glass
Pair Mid-Century Exterior Lights This auction is for one pair of outdoor light fixtures. We took them off our house two years ago when we had to reside and they were working fine at that time. They are all still wired for 110 and a medium size base bulb. They were on the house for about 50 years. They are carriage house style. They are cast aluminum and in great vintage condition with wear appropriate for the age and being outdoors. The color is black(needs paint) and the glass is amber and curved. The glass is all good. No cracks or missing pieces. The first four pictures show each side of the pair. The fifth picture shows the bottom. NOTE that on the bottom of one of the lights, a small(about 3/4" piece is broken off. We do not have the broken off piece. The next two pictures shows the tops. And the last three pictures show the textured ... moreglass, with each picture getting closer to the glass. The top is hinged with a screw latch. The hinges are good. Each light weighs about 5 and 1/2 lbs. Each light is about 20" tall. The hinged top is 8" x 8" and the bottom of the main part is 2 1/4" x 2 1/4" and has a drain hole. The glass starts just under the hinge and goes to the bottom of the main part so it has a very nice curve. They mount on a wall and the mount is about 5" tall x 4 1/4" wide. The light extends from the back of the mount to the hinge by 1 1/2" There is a coordinating porch post lamp that is still being used. Antique? Handmade Porch/Outdoor Light w/ Hand-Blown Glass.
This auction is for ONE old. Handmade porch or outdoor light. The light the winner receives, may or may not be pictured, but the two main differences between the lights is how much exterior paint is on them and how much twist there is on the 1/4" square stock welded to the light. It is probably an antique. But I haven't been able to verify that. I am told these were taken off a local church in the Williams, AZ area. It was definitely on a building when someone repainted it. That is why you see paint on the parts that would have been against the wall. The previous owner told me that the glass is handblown. When you run your hand on the glass. Pieces of it tries to grab you. The 1/4" square stock looks like it was heated& hand twisted. Before it was welded to the frame. Rate of twist varies from bar to bar on the light. Some ... moreare 1 twist per inch. Some are 1 twist per 2 inch. The wires are pretty old& I don't trust the insulation. Nice looking vintage lamp. Has a little paint on rim. Signs of wear but sits straight and no damage. Glass globe inside has a little chipping on one spot where it meets the housing. Great condition. They are cast iron and tin construction. They both have 4 textured textures milk glass panels. The frame for the panels and the top are tin. The arm, finials and the back plate are cast iron. The top on one sconce is bent slightly. There are no visible breaks or cracks. The porcelain sockets look good but they will need to be rewired. They retain most of there original black paint, There is surface rust were the paint has chipped off. Overall they are in very good condition. PAIR 100 YEAR OLD ANTIQUE CRAFTSMAN ARTS & CRAFTS OUTDOOR PORCH LANTERNS FIXTURE
Here we have a pair of very early large hand made iron arts and crafts lanterns. The lanterns are as you can imagine very heavy as they are solid iron. Being iron there is some rust. This however does not affects the structural integrity of the pieces and will be unnoticeable after painting. They will need to be rewired as the electric components are gone but lamps of this age would need to be refitted for safety anyway. Of the eight glass panels two are broken and one is cracked. Up for your consideration is a matching pair of Eames-era indoor/outdoor lights. Each fixture has four clear panels with dramatic starbursts carved in. The black finish is original and in very good condition. Gold finish needs repainting. No cracks in the glass. They are 18" tall and the light is about 6" across. it comes out from the wall 9 1/2" The base diameter is 6" The diameter of the light tip is 3.5" the length of the light from the light tip to the back is about 9" They can be used indoors, and also outdoors provided they don’t receive direct rain. We replaced it with a plastic/acrylic clear cylinder, that is lighter and it reflects more light. You will receive both the white and the clear cylinder with the fixture. Dating from the first half of the 1900s. This copper with brass Arts& Crafts light fixture was probably intended for outdoor use but can certainly be used indoors. The hanging portion measures 11" tall x 4" wide and is attached to a copper arm that extends from a 10 1/2" x 4" back plate. The bulb is protected by a glass cylinder that sits inside a brass cage. Vintage brass flush mount porch or ceiling light. I believe it is made of brass(a magnet will not stick to it) It has a combination of an antique brass finish on part of it. And an untreated finish on the four corners. It has a very nice ornate decorative trim surrounding the bottom. Glass sides are free of chips or cracks and has a starburst etched into the center. This came from a home that was built in the mid 1960's, but I do not know if it was original to the house.
