About ten years ago England and France and several other countries began tearing away old architectural elements from small homes cottages. Castles and chateaus in small towns and in the countryside in order to make way for more new modern and less drafty conveniences. As a result, lots of their architecture was shipped abroad to the U.S. to resellers and antique dealers by the container load. This Antique French Country rustic wall sconce made of wood and wrought iron with faux candles holder covers is part of this liquidation in history. This is a great primitive sconce, which would give that typical French country cottage feel to your home and fabulous decor for indoors or outdoors as well. I purchased this pair directly from a French seller ... moreout of Normandy. France who strictly sold only vintage and antique chandeliers, wall sconces and lighting taken from all over the French countryside, so I personally know these to be genuine. These primitive sconces are from the early 1900’s and taken from an old cottage style farmhouse. They are in excellent condition as measure approximately 7” inches tall by 5” inches wide on the wood backing plaques. They were previously wired according to French standards, but I have replaced them with more modern safe American standard candle bulb parts& wires. I do not know what kind of wood the back plates are made of and they may have possibly been added at a later date when the wiring was installed on the iron pieces. Not for sure on this and just my personal thoughts. They are in excellent antique condition showing some light to medium rust patina from having been kept in storage in a barn. They are not an exact matched set with on of the sconces showing the wrought iron curl being larger than the other. However, this does not detract from the use or function of these sconces. Sockets appear to be in good condition but should be checked, cast iron frame has no rust, no cracks( in side small piece is missing but it is not showing out side and reflect any think) and still on original colors. The measurement is approx 10 1/2" diameter and 8" tall plus chain and canopy. The shade opening is approx 3 3/4" wide at the widest part and 5 1/5" high. I do not have shades for this fixture. Pair of antique wall sconces Wooden(presumably pine) Wrought iron candle holder; stamped BS8840. Description revised to add dimensions: 16"T. 7"L, 3.25"W. Please review the photos as they are the primary description for these sconces. My grandfather had them hanging in his shop for at least 35 years and I know they were given to him by my great grandfather. I have tried to research the style. Wood and stamp. My best assumption based on their primitive design with stamp is early to mid 1800's although I cannot guarantee this. Antique Art Deco cast iron chandelier Paulding porcelain sockets gold lighting
Antique cast iron Art Deco cast iron chandelier. Has 3 porcelain Paulding sockets and is in good condition for restoration. It is gold colored and does have some rust as shown in the pictures. It is 13" across. And 14" tall. On the back it is stamped JE3 and still has the original cloth covered wiring. I also have a matching one listed and it has color on it. Vintage Cast Iron Metal Chandelier Ceiling Light Fixture Architectural Lighting
Vintage cast iron chandelier. Cast iron with accents of a metal coppered color around light sockets. Very good condition with the exception of needing wiring and a good cleaning. Weighs over 6 pounds. Base is 15" across. Height not including chain 12" and there are 8" between each bulb socket. Very nice!
