Featuring a hammered texture this wall sconce fixture set consists of two smaller sconces on either side of a larger sconce. Sconces appear to have been modified with electrical wiring and vintage electric candles. Electric candles have also been decorated with wax to resemble a candle with wax dripping down the side. Architecturally these sconces have a medieval sense to them reminiscent of Gothic decor and would not be out of place if used as church or religious decor. In fact these sconces were part of a lot of items that did come from various churches in Chicago Area. For your consideration is a vintage cast iron Eastlake style electrified wall sconce with 3 inch diameter shade/globe holder/fitter. This is a very nice quality fixture. Please note however. That THE MOUNTING BRACKET IS MISSING. The round part that would insert into the bracket is 5/16 to 3/8 inches in diameter. The socket is good quality. It turns smoothly and works well. It has a very nice brass key. The screws which secure the shade are also brass. The cord is good. This fixture does not have any makers mark or indication where it was made(other than casting numbers'2' and'3' I think it was originally made as an electric lamp but I suppose it's possible(but unlikely) that the electrics were added later. This very heavy and Gothic looking antique electric light sconce is made of cast iron with a hammered or distressed look in a faux Medieval or Arts and Crafts style. It would look really good in your hallway with a pair of flame shaped bulbs to resemble candles. The word"Puritan" presumably the manufacturer identification- is cast into the back. Along with a series of numbers that looks like"600B" To give you an idea of dimensions. It is about 10" tall, 5¾" wide, and about 4¾" deep to the outer edge of the scalloped bobeches. And it weighs about 2½ pounds. The switch is broken, but it doesn't look like the original anyway, and we managed to bypass it to test it, so we can confirm that the wiring works. The part that holds the shade is 7" in diameter at the opening. The Lamp shade is milk glass, and has no chips or breaks, but does have one spot of paint as I have shown in the pictures…I'm sure it can be removed. There is an ornate key that you turn for on/off. The cord is in very good shape, and has an older plug as you can see. The light bulb will not be included. There is a bracket that you can put on the wall, then you slip the lamp into it to make a sconce. I don't know the exact age, found it at an estate.
