Up for auction is this fabulous pair of Art Deco/Gothic wall sconce lights. Both are marked on the inside HALCOLITE CO. INC. PAT. PEND. This pair is being sold as found. They will need to be rewired, the sconces themselves are wonderful- no cracks or breaks to the metal. They exhibit great gothic lines with a crown like shape at the very top and a crenelated castle turret surrounding the"candle" They are a golden bronze color and highlighted with red and yellow, display a superb age-acquired patina. We are not sure of the metal, a magnet will not stick. The candle sleeves will also need to be replaced- these are original and one is ripped, the other has chips at the top edge. Vintage Wrought Iron Gothic Medieval Castle Style Wall Sconce
Please note: Black& Grayish areas on wall sconce is not two colors or fading. Just dusty of which I have cleaned. Just forgot to wipe it down before taking pics. Here’s another blast from the past during the Gothic Revival style in home décor during the 1960’s and early 1970’s. This Wall Sconce is made out of metal or what was called Pot Metal back in the day and painted over to look like wrought iron. However. This one may be painted cast aluminum. It has a flat satin paint finish and was a less expensive way to get the look one was after without the expense of genuine wrought iron, plus it’s also light weight when hanging on the wall so if it came crashing down it wouldn’t do very much damage to the wall or whatever lied beneath. There is no makers mark on the back. But it does come with a ruby red diamond pattern hobnail glass ... morevotive candle holder which glows beautifully when a candle is lit. The glass votive still has it’s original ribbed rubber band at its base so as to mount into the sconce without it slipping around. There are no cracks, chips or breakage and is in excellent vintage condition. This wall scone measures approximately 17-½” inches tall by 8” inches wide by a depth of 3-½” inches. It is excellent condition for a vintage item. FINE PRINT: As with all vintage/antique items there may be normal wear. Dings, dents, scratches and other unique details that do not take away from the value or function, but add to the history and character of the item. MADE IN AMERICA HUGE Antique Gothic Style 12-Light Castle Chandelier made out of thick heavy gauge steel to look like wrought iron in order to reduce the tension weight on a ceiling. It’s still a hefty piece and one quarter of the weight of something made from wrought iron. But still gives you the look and feel of medieval style castle lighting. Chandelier measures 4’ feet across and approximately 12” inches tall to the top of the sockets. The round candle plate holders underneath the sockets are approximately 8" inches across. The swag chain hangs another 36” inches from the ceiling downward. I really hate parting with it since it took me two years to save up enough money to purchase it and was planned for a renaissance style booth building. To purchase something on this large a scale in genuine wrought iron would cost $5.000-$6,000 ... moreor possibly more, so if you want to save some money and go for function, style and the look of a medieval gothic lighting for your home or booth this is a less expensive and a better alternative cost effective chandelier. This antique circa 1900 Bronze Sculpture depicts a Medieval Gothic Castle. At the corners are 12 ¾ inch tall spires with tall glass ... morewindows in between. Each side measures 8 ¾ inches wide and the overall height to the top of the center spire is 18 ¼ inches. The bronze surface retains its original patina and you can see evidence of gold gilt, of which the majority has worn away over the years. As you look at the close-up photographs, you will see that this solid bronze lamp shade is finely detailed and in perfect condition. There is something missing from the top of the center spire, but I don’t believe it was a cross. All the designs on this bronze shade are non-religious. At the bottom, you can see three threaded holes, which were used to attach this shade to a fixture. Inside are three opaque glass panels, which have fine, thin cast lines. Two of these pieces of glass are antique and one is a replacement held in with hot glue. This replaced glass is the only problem with this circa 1900 Bronze Lamp Shade. Finish is dark with green patina look. Has nice texture detail. Overall measurements measuring 20 1/2 inches high. When mounted to the wall sticks out 8 3/4" inches. About 5 inches wide at its widest point. Has wax dipped candles covers measuring 7 inches tall by1 1/2" Lamp holders are Marked Levinson 660 W 250, standard size socket. Measures approx. 11" inches in height. 5 1/2" width, and 8 1/4” inches depth. The wall base measures 5 1/2” x 8 3/4” inches. No mounting hardware. This does NOT have a glass globe. You should be able to find a nice one at any Menard’s. Lowes, or Home Depot. They don’t cost much, and you get the look you want. As mentioned above- there is no mounting hardware. It appears to mount using the center hole(need to purchase a light fixture bolt) We’ve seen similar ones being sold. But always painted in a plain silver pewter. 1950's Medieval Gothic Mission Hanging Light Fixture Mid-Century Castle Decor
Up for sale we have this very awesome medieval style hanging light fixture probably from the 1950's to early 1960’s. This unique light is all metal and was made by Susanne Ideal Lighting Inc in North Kansas City. MO. which was incorporated in 1954. The manufacture sticker does not have a zip code so the light was made sometime between 1954 and 1963. The fixture frame is in good used condition with no breaks. I do not know the condition of the wiring and have not tested it. This fixture is being sold as-is. The fixture is approx. 15” long and 11.5” wide. Each light bulb housing is about 5” in diameter. Included is the ceiling cap and two rings that(I think) go on the bottom of the globes. It is missing the two glass globes. T he bottom of the globe rings have an inside diameter of about 3” When I bought the fixture it was missing the chain ... moreso I replaced it. This is a pair of Heavy Iron Tudor style Double light sconces. One light needs to be welded or soldered back on to the backplate. I would think they also need or should be rewired. These are the ultimate in Castle.Gothic or Tudor style. I believe they came out of a 1920s tudor style house on the East Coast. I am not an expert.
