This stunning antique fixture was made around 1910. It features lead crystal prisms. Bronze frame and etched glass globes, each measuring 7" long. The glass dish or globe in the center measures approximately 15.5" in diameter. The bronze frame is adorned with cherubs holding flower baskets and lined with celluloid decorative panels. The five(5) globes are held by bronze arms coming out of the mouths of lion faces. The frosted white shade(it looks pinky in the images, but really is white) is called slumped glass. Slumped glass shades were introduced after WWII. And became ... morepopular. Wildly so. Before the war, cast glass shades were the norm. This fixture is the only pre-war fixture I’ve ever offered with a slumped glass shade. And what a shade. It is. Again, frosted white and features lilies. In the 1941 catalog image(see picture) the lilies are much more pronounced. I doubt they ever were as such in real life(the catalog image is a drawing not an actual photograph) The finial is also amazing. It is a hand-blown sphere. It is also a switch! Which works! You can turn on just one bulb. Three, or all four. In the days before dimmer switches became common(a post-WWII development) the ability to control the amount of light must have seemed a technological wonder– the very acme of modernity. FOR THE LIGHTING GEEK: The cast metal socket cluster(see last image) is wildly over engineered. You would think it was designed to support a bridge and not four Bakelite sockets! I’ve never seen sockets held in their own custom. Cast cups. Yep, pretty cool. Above the shade is a fountain effect with eight delicate glass spheres(I love it) And above that is a cast glass flourish. The metal components retain their distinctive Globe finish which is sorta b

rustic cast iron chandelier with tin shade and big light globe...
Up for bid is this vintage cast iron chandelier. The chandelier has six cast iron arms that curve around and support the massive 2 foot across shade. The shade is made of tin or aluminum. In the middle of the shade is the big 10" white glass globe. I can best describe the chandelier as being rustic. It has a gold color on the shade with an uneven pattern of overtones. Where the six arms of cast iron curve around and meet the shade. The paint has been rubbed off under each of the six arms. The chain wich once supported this awsome chandelier has been cut off during salvage to about 1 foot in length. The power supply cord has also been cut off to about 1 foot. You can see in the pictures that i have plugged a white extension cord into the wires that are left hanging out of the light. The light came right on with no strange noises or nothing ... moreelse looking out of place. I left the light on for 30 minutes and all was good. The lamp is heavy and will have to go into a large box for tras port. Im figuring on by the time it is packed that it will be close to 20 lbs. because of box size it will go ups. Looks like a 20 lb package of this size will be about 68.00 for shipping. Sorry it is what it is. If you looking at this auction. You know who this is and what these are worth. This globe dates back to the 1910 to 1920’s period. It’s a very good condition. The only 2 flaws I seen are on top 2 small pieces are chipped away. This is not visible from the bottom, once you hang this chandelier globe. I only have the globe and the original decorative attachments, which I believe these are silver plated bronze and have a nice age patina. On the inside, sockets are screwed onto these attachments. On these attachments, you can hang either chain or a robe kind of attachment, which was used in those time, but not on these chandeliers. Vintage Mid Century Green Electric Plug In Hanging Lamp w/ Amber Colored Glass Globes and Glass Prisms. This Lamp or Light works great and would be an asset to anyone's vintage home decor. Please look at all pictures and read item description. Here is what to expect as far as condition and is what was written above: Vtg Used Condition. Might need more cleaning. It has been cleaned lightly for pictures but might need a little more. It is missing one of its original nuts on top. We have replaced it with another one as seen in pictures. The prisms could stand to be rewired and attached to the lamp. The wire has gotten old that holds them onto the lamp and sometimes they break off due to the brittle metal wire. So rewiring the prisms is a must eventually. It isn't missing any of its prisms. You might see some minor scratches to the paint ... morebut none that is just awful or takes away from the lamp. The goldtone chain might have some fading to the plating but really looks good for its age. I don't see any rust on the chain at all. Raised ribbed patterns around the sides, and rough cut top and bottom rims. They measure approximately 3" tall. By approximately 6" across at their widest center points. The top openings measure 5" across to the outer edges, and the small bottom fitter ends measure approximately 1 3/4" across to the outer edges. Both are in very good condition. And have no chips or cracks overall. There is minor roughness with some small chiggers to the rims which is typical on rough cut shades. It is painted in shades of gold and green on a matte frosted outside finish. The inside is a shiny white milk glass. Paint is worn at the bottom on the center flower. Could be touched up easily. The rest of the paint is in excellent condition. It measures 15.5" diameter. By 9" high. The opening measures 14" to the outside edge and 13" inside. It originally hung from 3 chains with clips on the bottom to hold the glass globe. The person I bought it from said that the fixture part was bent and they threw it away. Vintage Halcolite 3 globe chandelier
This vintage charmer has been in my family since 1980. It was hanging in a house we purchased, but I haven't been able to find a suitable place for it in our current home. It needs to be re-wired. Other than that it is in great shape. The glass globes are in perfect condition, no cracks or chips that I could find. It looks like it's from the 60's or 70's. I don't really know.
