This is a very special pair of vintage French Rococo wall lights with etched opaque glass shades. They are very large and really impressive when seen in the flesh- much larger than they appear in the photo's. A really beautiful design with foliate detail and a lovely scallop shell at the base- all typical rococo motifs. Please look at the photo's to really appreciate these. They are probably around 30 years old and made from very heavy solid bronze. These would have cost a fortune new. We dismantled them in our workshop and completely rewired them with new brass bulb holders so now in full working order again. When found they were unloved and covered in paint which had to ... morebe scraped off by hand. As a result we took the unusual decision to have them machine polished- wow! The bronze is such good quality that they now gleam and the detail can really be appreciated. Heavy Vintage Italian Cast Bronze or Brass Wall Sconces Etched Glass Shades
This is a Beautiful Pair of Heavy Antique/ Vintage Cast Solid Bronze or Brass Wall Sconces with Etched Frosted Glass Shades. Made in Italy. Each of these heavy sconces weighs just under 3 pounds(without the shades about 6 pounds for the pair) And they have a nice heavy, solid feel. The back of each sconce has"ITALY" etched or cast into the back near the center hole as seen with a blue circle and arrow calling your attention to the location. I initially thought the sconces were brass but based on the patina and weight we think the may likely be bronze but we do not know for sure. I took the following measurements(all approximate) Description Measurement Total overall height of sconce and shade 10 1/2" Total overall height of sconce and wall plate without shade 8 1/2" Maximum depth from wall without shade 5 3/4" Maximum ... moredepth from wall with shade 6 3/4" Centerline height of wall plate 6 1/2" Maximum width of wall plate 4 1/2" Maximum diameter of glass shade 4 1/2" Top outer diameter of shade 2 3/4" Bottom outer diameter of shade 2" The sconces are made to be installed on electrical boxes on the wall following all applicable electric codes. There are not light switches on the fixtures. So clearly the sconces are intended for installation on boxes controlled by a wall light switch. The wiring is the old cloth covered type. I do not know if this meets current standards or not; convert an electrical professional. As you can see there is an IBEW(International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers) UNION MADE green and white paper sticker and an Underwriters Laboratories Inc. black and yellow sticker on the back as seen. I found online that Underwriter Laboratories was founded in 1894. We do not know the age of the sconces, but it looks to me like they might be circa 1910s to 1930s, possibly toward the earlier part of this range since they are not of the 1930s/ 1940s Art Deco style. The rest of the canopy is pressed brass and has a couple of small dings in the smooth part. There is no nut and threaded tubing for the center of the fixture. The clear& frosted glass shades have a lovely ruffled edge and pleat design. The pleats are frosted on one side and clear on the other side. It gives the appearance of a very light frosting. No chips or cracks and they have a lovely bell tone when flipped with your finger. The gracefully curved arms have an engraved design on them. There are 2 matching sconces listed also that look like they were used with this one or in the next room. The glass is similar but does not match the glass on this ... more1 exactly. They measure approximately 4 1/4" tall(one is slightly taller) By approximately 3" across the top openings. The smaller fitter ends measure just over 1 5/8" across to the outer edges. Both are in very good condition. And have no chips or cracks overall. There is minor roughness with some small chiggers to the small fitter rims which is typical on rough cut shades. Pair 2 Brass Torchiere Candle Wall Sconces w Hurricane Glass Shades Antique
Selling a beautiful pair of antique brass candlestick wall sconces. Likely dating to the second half of the 19th century. These are torchiere sconces that fit flush on the wall with the lighting torch part angled away. The lead photo shows the angle, and both sconces are identical. These sconces have their original, hand-blown, acid-etched hurricane shades, each etched with a grapes-and-leaves motif, and both shades have a"cranberry stain" along their top rim. Everything here is in great shape. Complete, and all original. The glass shades alone are 9.5" high by 6" across, and their brass base fittings are 1.5" across. Fully assembled each sconce is 17.5" tall on the wall, so these really make a statement, look at me! I should also mention these are brass, not brass plated, so they could easily be polished up ... moreto a bright brass if so desired. Three vintage cast iron wall sconces. Embossed on ring that hold shade-A W Co. Chicago Pat'd April 1st 1902 For entry wall or front porch. Perhaps. Need restoration? Please see pictures for details. Heavy- each sconce weighs more than 2 pounds. Approximately 7 inches tall. 7 inches front to back. Bottom of shade diameter-5 inches. Milk glass shades are thick glass-approx 3/8 to 1/4 inches. The edges have chips(picture#6 shows the worst chip. Several little points on the edge are missing. The edges of each shade are very sharp. I will ship in two boxes-glass shades in one. Beautiful antique wall sconce. Got this from a 103 yr old home we are renovating. Works great. Beautiful piece. Don't know what it is made of. Brass, bronze, copper, tin. Copper color finish. Light weight. Wall mount. Measures 12 1/2 inches tall over all. Thinner glass shade is 5" tall other shade is 4 1/2 inches tall. Wall mount is 5 1/2 inches in diameter. When mounted it sticks out 10 inches from wall. Very good condition. No damage. Normal wear. Rare beautiful piece! I have 2 available/posted.

Antique copper hanging sconce wall lamp light brass tin. glass shades. Perkins
Antique wall sconce light. Hanging 3 light with glass shades. Knob to turn on lights says Perkins on it. That paddle stitch was patented in 1899 and was used in the early 1900's. These were from a 103 yr old executive home that we are renovating. I don't know a lot about them but I believe they may be copper. The metal is very lightweight not sure. Copper, brass, tin? copper/ gold tone color) Very good condition. They were all working great when they were taken down. Photo shows how they looked while they were still mounted on the wall. I have 7 available. However glass shades are not all matching and some are without shades included. Beautiful lights! Fixtures measure14 inches wide. 10 inches from top to bottom with shades on. They stick out 10 inches from the wall when mounted. Use standard light bulbs. Message me with questions.
