Czech Satin Glass Pink Grape Cluster Chandelier Vintage
Fabulous Old Czech Satin Glass Pink Grape Cluster Chandelier. The chandlier has a gold metal stem with two gold curved arms. Each arm holds a large pink glass grape cluster. The arms and stem are decorated with green glass grape leaves that have touches of purple. The leaves have jagged edges. They are fastened to the chandelier with a strand of gold wire. Each grape cluster consists of individual round balls of glass that are fastened to a wire frame/ shape. The clusters are pink colored when not lit. And have an orange/ yellow glow when lit. SIZE: 19 inches high x 20 inches wide. CONDITION: The chandelier has some wear. A few leaves have tiny losses(barely noticeable) One round pink grape glass bead/ ball is broken. And occupied most of the block between East Tioga and East Venango Streets. The factory backed up against rail lines. The Gill buildings are extant, although they look a lot less attractive than they did as pictured, proudly, in Gill catalogs. The immediate area around the factory was all housing(and still is) and it can be assumed that many of these homeowners worked for Gill– an easy commute. All this seems like an ancient time, a lost age far, far away when America actually made stuff. Quality stuff. Too. And when people didn’t have long commutes to work, and when railroads were powerful and important. Sigh. As can be expected of Gill. The glass shade is incredible. Wow. Wow! The thick glass has, in high relief, grapes, grape vines, and leaves. The outer finish has a subtle iridescent luster. The shade is stunning when the fixture is off, but lighted? It just takes your breath away. Above the shade is a swirling column surround by six glass drops. Most of the metal parts are chrome-plated. The bottom disk is nickel-plated. Frosted Etched and Clear Glass Lamp Shades pair Grape motif for vanity boudier
Up for sale this beautiful pair of Victorian style gas. Oil, or electric lamp shades as shown. Mounting rim outside diameter is a little less than 1 5/8ths inches, so these would fit a 1 5/8ths to 1 3/4 inch fixture. Glass has an acid etch frosted finish on the outside, except for the grapes and vines, and smooth on the inside. Nice scalloped tops. Offered is a beautiful old early 1940s brass chandelier measuring 18 inches wide by 14 inches high plus the 17 inch chain and original oversize brass 7 inch ceiling canopy. The chandelier features a 5 light frame. Adorned with glass spear prisms and grape pattern glass shades. The prisms are supported by removable brass shade rings. The fixture is all original other than the lead wire, it has been upgraded as the old wiring was quite brittle. There are no breaks or missing prisms. ORIGINAL Vintage Hand Blown BLUE Glass Grape Chandelier - RARE Art Deco - WINE!!
Up for auction is an AMAZING rare original vintage hand blown blue glass grape cluster light chandelier! This light fixture was recently removed from a New Hampshire estate and is fresh to the market! I am unsure of the exact maker of this light. But believe it to be Italian made. It consists of several hand blown blue glass(rare color, couldn't find another one like it) single"grape-like" pieces that are about 2" in diameter and 3.5" long. In between these grape fixtures that are several small blue glass leaves that give an excellent t touch to the overall look of this great chandelier! Each glass piece has a small piece of wire that has been blown into the glass and then wrapped around a central metal wire cage in a cluster fashion. There are two different looking glass grapes that make up the light. Several have ... morea crackled surface(not cracks through the glass, simply a surface texture) and others are smooth with curved longitudinal segments. Condition wise, this light fixture is in as found condition. We have not tried to clean, re-wire or alter it in any way once removing it from the estate. The bottom looks like it may be missing some of the glass grape pieces(see photos and judge for yourself) but this doesn't take away from the amazing look of this piece. Each hand-blown amber colored grape(measuring approximately 2+ inches in length) is masterfully clustered to form this magnificent chandelier. The design of this piece is reminiscent of old Hollywood. The top of the cluster is flanked by a bordering row of plastic grape leaves. In excellent original working condition with no breaks. Cracks, chips or missing glass parts, this piece is an old(1920s-1940s) art glass original- definitely not a new reproduction! As you can see in the photos, the beauty and quality is alluring, but it is so much more breath-taking in person, particularly when illuminated! Currently ... morethis piece is fashioned to be wired straight into the ceiling. I did wire the piece up at one time and the light works fine. I do not see a metal tag or signature. But I believe this to be Italian or Czech made. The only other fixture remotely similar to this one that I have seen once hung in the home of a TV show violinist and Hollywood agent. Who were jointly the"party-throwers extraordinaire" in the 1950's and 60's. It gracefully hung over their Hollywood Regency games table in their white carpeted game room. Get the picture?
