Offered here is a unique ornate Italian lantern with gilt finish. Made in Italy during the 1950's. This piece has been restored, rewired and inspected. The glass panes are in excellent condition, and have no damage or cracks. This chandelier measures 16" tall by 10" wide. And includes 36" of chain and a matching ceiling canopy. We are pleased to offer this very nice. Ornate and quite unique Mid Century(1960s) French or Italian tole pendant lamp/chandelier. This 6 paneled, 3 light fixture features an ornate tole frame. The tole has a hammered pattern and extends around the bottom of the frame and in the borders of each panel. Each panel features a large wire fleur de lis which is topped with a tole acanthus leaf. There is also a tole flower in the center of each fleur de lis. The finial is gilted tole acanthus leaves that curl upward on each end. The stained glass panels are textured and alternate with 2 blue panels, 2 gold panels and 2 purple panels. The glass graduates in width and is wider at the bottom sections. The 3 light section of the pendant is gilded with nice bobeches and curved arms in candlestick design. There is also a bottom finial. The brass hardware is ornate and has deeply curved arms and scrolled accents. The brass around the bowl section is pierced with Art Nouveau detailing. The glass on the chandelier is ALL ORIGINAL. It features a gold to clear color palette with a frost to clear, etched pattern of Nouveau flowers and leaves(the pattern is quite unique and striking) The glass includes a large bowl feature on the bottom of the fixture and 5 tall hurricane shades. The shades are ruffled and"slumped" at the tops. Both the shades and the bowl feature the same, frosted"etched" pattern. This is a beautiful fixture with a somewhat rare pattern to the glass. The glass is very good with expected wear around the fitting areas. One of the shades has a small hairline crack in the fitter area which has been repaired and is covered when the shade is in place. The glass has some air bubbles. The wiring is in good condition and the fixture is working beautifully. The chandelier is nicely sized and measures 23.5" in diameter. 15" in height(23" in height with chain and ceiling canopy included) The glass bowl is 9.75" in diameter and 5" deep. Up for bid a really cute antique black glass fixture it has like a fleur de lys filigree design then like a bar in solid brass on each panel it has four panels and each has the same decoration on each panel it has brass embossed ball as decor and the bottom has ribbed designs it is 26 in to the plate it's in great conditon. I will take pics outside so you can see the beauty of the fixture it's by Thomas Industries Ft. Atkinson Wisconsin Moe light c-143430 the plate is 5in each panel is 5in wide 11inH and 26 in to the plate. The lantern type of lamp has two candlecover lites inside and they work perfectly. FABULOUS MID CENTURY FRENCH ITALIAN PENDANT LAMP FROSTED GLASS GOLD LEAF IRON
This is a beautiful pendant lamp/chandelier! This lovely. Mid Century fixture features a gold leaf/gilded iron, elongated, hexagon frame. The frame is accented with twisted iron and adorned with large Fleur de Lis. It has a scrolled lower section. The top section has a multi-frond finial. The 6 glass panels are frosted and slightly textured on the interior side. The lamp utilizes one, standard size bulb. There is a pull chain, on/off switch inside the lamp. The lamp could easily be hardwired directly into the ceiling if you so choose. This is very nicely made, higher end, fixture with exceptional details. There are no manufacturer's marks or stickers. It is in very good condition with some wear to the gold leaf finish which can be resolved. A couple of the glass pieces have some minor chipped edges which are not visible when the panels ... moreare inside the frame. The wiring is vintage but in good, working condition. There is also an extra 50 Prisms some of them need wires. This measures 30" from ceiling mount to the glass ball and is 14" around. This chandelier is in Very Very Good Condition for its age. Rare Antique Cephas B. Rogers Ceiling Mount Metal and Glass light 3 sockets gold
On auction today is. This was made by Cephas B. Rogers Danbury. Connecticut and the name is stamped in the metal on the back. Born 12/30/1836 Old Saybrook, Connecticut and was a silverplater. He was a partner with Gilbert and Wilbur Rogers from 1866 to 1903 in Meriden,Conn as C.Rogers& Bros. Much of Rogers Co work was used in Hearthstone Castle in Danbury,Conn. All of the wrought iron chandeliers, lamps, and wall sconces were made in Danbury by Cephas B. Rogers Co. Google it) Very interesting article about him. This particular light fixture is a ceiling flush mount metal ornate 3 socket light with a rod that holds the original large decorative glass piece. I believe that the glass was added in the 1940's era. This fixture is all original(not sure about the glass portion) with the cloth wiring(would need to be rewired for safety) It ... morehas a beautiful gold coloring on the base with patina as pictured. The metal base is heavy weighing in just under 6 pounds and measuring 12-1/2 inches wide. The glass has small chips which are pictured and a slight scratch also pictured. The glass piece weighs 3 pounds and is 17 inches in diameter. Overall in great condition considering this piece is about 100 years old. I am not sure if this piece came from the Heathstone Castle or not.I could not find any inside pictures of the castle when it was lived in back in the 1800's. I did purchase this item in Massachusetts. I do know that his earliest pieces were signed"CEPHAS B. ROGERS PATENT APPLIED FOR" which is stamped on the back part of the metal as pictured.
