Lot 3 Antique/Old French Brass/Gilt Bronze/Metal Wall Sconce 2 Light w/ Mirror
FABULOUS lot of 3 old French 2-light wall sconces. They feature detailed ribbon/flower/rosettes surrounding old silver backed mirrors. They came out of the British ambassador's home in Portland. OR(when we had an ambassador) and are VERY charming. I have shown what they look like with shades(not included) They measure approx. 11 1/2" tall(from top of candle to bottom of fixture) x 8" wide. They weer rewired in the 70's(I was told) and work perfectly.

There is a short chain and brass ceiling canopy. From ceiling canopy down to top of fixture is 18" tall. Excellent condition: original finish and condition. This is a pretty one light hanging gilt/gold light fixture/chandelier. Made in Italy. It did have a made in Italy label when I found it but unfortunately I lost it, It has been around a while so does have tarnish spots on it. PLEASE LOOK OVER PHOTOS. I did add a new socket and wire, but otherwise it is AS FOUND. It has a short chain and about 2 feet of wire at the top( i added plenty of wire in case you need to lengthen the chain, you can always cut some off if you don't need it) It has a bamboo/wicker look ceiling mount. You could add chain/cord to make a swag you could use anywhere, or use as a hardwire light like it is. It uses a large base bulb. This measures about 15" tall and 15" wide. They have a different top piece. Also. There are two crystals missing at the bottom of both sconces but you can't really tell because the holes are so small. It would be easy to pick up a few more if it bothered you. They are both in excellent shape. No gold gilt missing on either one. They are 13" wide. 12" high to the bottom of the crystal. The shelf is 6 1/2" deep. But the entire sconce is 7 1/2" deep. I describe the items to the best of my ability. I may miss some details which a collector or expert would look for. The mirror is lightly mercury-ed. There is some discolouration to the underside of one of the candle arms. The piece has been converted for electricity. But this should be tested before use. Solid metal. Very heavy, beautifully gilded. Original condition- it has not been heavily cleaned or restored in any way while in our ownership, just lightly dusted.
