This is a wonderful old pair of antique Arts and Crafts Gothic gilt forged iron and brass foliate wall sconces. They probably date from the teens or 1920s. This is a really incredible pair of sconces. The detail and finish is wonderful. I found a pair with a very similar feeling online that were marked E. F. Caldwell. But these unfortunately aren't marked. If you Google Caldwell foliate sconces you will find a similar pair(though I must say not nearly as nice! for sale at $4900. I don't know how heavily they were colored when originally made. But the current color/patina is truly superb. The finish has not been touched. They have the original wiring. Which MUST be changed! FABULOUS lot of 3 old French 2-light wall sconces. They feature detailed ribbon/flower/rosettes surrounding old silver backed mirrors. They came out of the British ambassador's home in Portland. OR(when we had an ambassador) and are VERY charming. I have shown what they look like with shades(not included) They measure approx. 11 1/2" tall(from top of candle to bottom of fixture) x 8" wide. They weer rewired in the 70's(I was told) and work perfectly.

Pair Early 20th Century 2 Arm Bronze Sconces w Gilt Leaves Acorn Finials & Brass
Here we have a really great early 20th century pair of 2 arm bronze sconces with both gilt& brass leaves and acorn finials. These heavy sconces have a super deep time aged patina and we believe they date to the turn of 20th century. Each sconce has two arms and seven gilt leaves staggered along the length of the main bronze shaft. One sconce has four brass leaves between the gilt leaves and the other sconce is missing two brass leaves leaving two. All of the leaves have curved copper stems which are also used to hold the leaves to the main bronze shaft. These sconces are in untouched as-found condition with a wonderful deep time aged patina and we have not cleaned or dusted them. The patina is very deep and it is possible that it is remnants of red or brown paint. Each of these sconces will need brackets. Lighting parts, rewiring and ... morehave loose acorn finials. They each measure 13 1/4" tall. 4 1/4" across the arms and weigh 1 pound 10 ounces. VTG LARGE 27" SPAIN GILT BRONZE BRASS FRENCH EMPIRE DIRECTOIRE WALL LAMP SCONCE
Absolutely beautiful vintage sconce. Dating to the 1940s or 1950s. This LARGE, electric wall sconce was made in Spain. It is either a gilt bronze or gilt brass(Spain used both widely at the time) The sconce is in French Directoire/Empire style. It features 3 curved arm with"trumpet vine" abd floral medallion accents. The vine does lend a trumpet/horn appearance to the arms. A long, pineapple topped torch runs the length of the sconce. It is draped with ribbon and bellflower swags. It has two tassels at the bottom and two, circular, ribbon bows at the upper section. The bobeches are in acanthus pattern and acanthus leaves are present on the under side of each arm. The sconce is very nicely made and it is very heavy. It is in good, ORIGINIAL condition and has not been repainted. The gilded finish is still present on most surfaces, ... morebut there are a couple of areas with an aged patina. The wiring has been updated and the sconce is in good working order. On sale this week is a Gorgeous vintage heavy brass wall sconce. Great large size and presence. There are 16 milk glass Lilies on this candelabra wall sconce. Please note there is a few flea bites to the flowers here and there absolutely nothing major. One flower has a repair on its backside. I will include an extra flower. Approx 25" wide and 16" tall and comes out from the wall@ 10" There is a twist switch on the front for on and off. I put a cord on to be plugged into an outlet to show it works. The bottom of the fixture. Including the arms, is accented with gilded brass acanthus leaves. The large bobeches repeat this feature. The chandelier has double, twist down rods which are separated by an open ring accent. The original brass canopy is present and is also decorative with the twist pattern repeated at the top. The chandelier is simply striking. IT IS EXCEPTIONALLY heavy. It is not marked but it is of the finest quality. It is in good antique condition with the expected aging patina and a few"age spots" on the brass. It appears as if someone was in the process of rewiring but did not complete the task. Wreath and bow decoration, 2 pressed glass bobeches, plus 32 three sided lead crystals. One crystal is chipped on the top edge. There are no missing crystals or any damage to the rest of the fixture. There is no nut and threaded tubing for the center of the fixture. Antique French Style Gilt Bronze Or Brass Wall Sconce Candelabra Lamps
Up for sale is this fabulous pair of antique wall sconces. While they are done in a French style. They are of American manufacture. They are signed in multiple places on the back, I believe it is Lion Electric Manufacturing Co. with a 1924 patent date. These have not been tested for function, and have old cloth wiring, so you would likely want to rewire. The faux candles probably should be replaced as well. They do show a fair amount of finish wear, so you will have to decide if you want to keep them in original, yet imperfect finish, or touch up/refinish. They measure about 10 3/8" across, 12 1/2" tall to top of the candle, 6 3/8" deep.
