The brass is heavily oxidized, looks appropriately shabby as found but could probably be improved with some effort. The glass shades are frosted and a little rough at the bottom, but they look just fine sitting on the lamps. One has some stubborn rust-colored stains. This is a very pretty piece. I don't know its history. It has a very narrow-based chimney and stands about 14" tall. It appears to have no problems. I did not test the hard wiring. The 2 brasses sconces used to be gas and have been fully converted to electric. On the rim of the one of the fitters it shows the patent date of"Pat'd.Dec896, Sept2996" The twist knob says"P& S" on the fixture it's also engraved"Weber Patents" They are in excellent working condition. The wire is newer. Upon looking at them. I'm not sure how you would mount them as there's no hardware and I don't see how you would fit it to the wall(even with the bar that's on it) I will leave it up to the new owner to determine. I figured you could drill holes into the canopy and mount it to the wall. The brass is VERY delicate ... moreand it shows it's age very much. There are some dents in it etc.which are hard to see in photos. The pictures show the cosmetic condition a little better than they actually are.The glass shades for the large fitter seem to be heavy for this lightweight of a fixture. You could replace them with something lighter or maybe more of that period. Also, one of the screws appears to be newer. The large fitter is 4 1/8" the small fitter is 2 1/4" The diameter of the canopy is 4" All of the glass shades are free of chips or cracks but do show some wear. Beautiful little sconce. And has a very unique acorn finial on the pull chain. The set screws on the pierced top fitter are pretty little flowers, and all three are present. It was in use in our 1891 home until just recently when we opened up a wall to the reading nook it was in to make a master bath. I suspect it was there from when the house was wired to replace the gas lights. Our town. Bellefonte, was the second town to be electrified after Edison's home town! The sconce is wired and ready to go. But please an electrician or knowledgeable person double check the wiring to your satisfaction since it is not a new piece. The wiring is cloth covered, but doesn't look original, so may have been rewired more recently. The piece is marked 250V Hubbel 250W on the socket. And Pat Applied For on the arm. I polished it about 4 years ago, ... moreand it has mellowed to a lovely light brass patina. Antique Brass Gas Wall Sconce Roses Art Nouveau Lamp Candlestick Holder
Up for sale is an Antique Solid Brass Gas Wall Sconce features a rose design. Looks like a bouquet of roses. There are 2 tubes that lead to the large open roses, which thread onto the tubes. The front features a hole where a knob would be mounted to control the flames. There are a total of 2 gas burners, it could be used as candlestick holders or even be converted to make a really nice wall accent lamp. It is approximately 21"T x about 12 1/2"W, and total it stands approximately 4" from the wall, so I would say 4" deep. This is a really intricate and realistic casting, note the detail work on the closed buds and on the leaves. This is a very quality piece, and very solid and heavy, it weighs almost 6 lbs. It was made in the late 1800's to early 1900's and is of an Art Nouveau style. This would make a lovely accent ... morein any home or garden. this is a rare exquisite antique victorian bronze wall mount candle holder sconce. It was once a gas sconce and could still be concerted back. But was turned into this wonderful candle holder and very high quality. it has exquisite ornate detailing and holds 2 candles. it is made from thick heavy bronze and has a wonderful patina from age. it is highly embossed with beautiful scroll work. And foliage patterns. it measures 12 1/2 x 11 inches and sits 7 1/2 inches from the wall. it is in good shape and can be wired with electricity also if desired. it has new hardware in the back but does not take away from the piece. i believe the middle arm knob is the on/ off gas hook up. very rare victorian sconce. This wall sconce came from an old house in Atlanta Georgia. I don't know much about these but what research I did leads me to believe this lot is from the early 1900s. Up for sale is a gorgeous antique gas brass wall sconce. It has been converted to electric. But it is a vintage/antique original conversion, with the original cotton wires from the early 1900's. Stamped with the maker"Crescent B.M. Co Pat'd" on the back(there is also a patent number but it is unreadable to me) I would caution any buyer who purchases to please rewire for safety reasons. Those wires are not considered safe anymore, needs new wires if going to be used. Also needs a switch. Is in good condition, with only one notable issue. It appears that at one point there was a decorative accent on the top, it has been snapped off, it looks like it never had been there in the first place, so the break happened in a natural looking place. Electric sockets have cardboard candle sticks covering the hardware, they slide off, ... morefor easy removal and access to the wires. The wiring is easy to access, so easy to replace. Height of candles are adjustable with a small screw. This is a solid brass, quality antique piece of americana. Would look excellent in any house, has a very decorative art nouveau look. Old Vintage Antique Victorian Gothic Bronze Gargoyle or Griffin Sconce Gas Light. It is approx 16" tall and 16" wide without lamp part added. It is made of bronze except for the tail and the lamp which are made of wrought iron. There is a bat figure as the knob which turns the gas to it on or off. The lamp needs a new clip to secure it in place right. Now it just hangs on by its tail. You can make one from a paper clip or something like that I'm sure. There is some kind of gold paint on it and it looks like there is a small crack in the decorative piece above the wings. Other than that it's in great shape for its age. This old highly detailed light is an u ltra rare item that would be excellent for a museum or heirloom. Payment due within 24 hours of auction end.

I have added extra keywords in the title only because I have not been able to identify this light fixture. I believe it is a work of art and think someone else will love it too! Very heavy wrought iron frame with a brushed silver finish. Picture#18 shows paint loss and the iron underneath. Metal red cone shape hood is attached to the vertical arms that hold the glass shade. I do not see how you would remove the shade. The shade is badly broken and repaired. Maybe because there is no way to change the shade? It is broken around the top edge also. See picture#18. 1800's Antique Brass/Bronze Gas Lamp Wall Sconce Figural Fixture Winged Angel
Listing is for an antique gas wall sconce. Made of brass or bronze. A magnet does not stick. Measures 40 1/2" tall, and extends out approximately 27" at farthest point. This does have some issues, there are no mounting brackets or bolts/screws, and no globes, just the main sconce body as shown in the photo(s) There are 3 mounting holes(See 6th photo) which are not perfectly aligned, I thought the top was out of line, but closer looking now and it appears that all 3 mounting holes are not properly aligned. Must have been dropped at some point, so will need to be bent back into alignment. A previous owner has attached 2 triangle shaped loops for hanging/mounting to a wall, I'm guessing one of these was/is the gas line, as I see no other holes. One of the two burners, the stem coming from the main body to the bottom of the top ... moreburner mount is misshapen/bent, should be an easy bend back, this shows in the photos. I'm presuming this is a gas fixture, as the burners are hollow inside, see next to last photo. I'm guessing age to be Victorian era. I see no marks as to maker. But it is very detailed and could be marked somewhere I overlooked. This is very heavy, weighs almost 30 pounds without packing. Thank you for viewing. A very rare antique. Circa 1860's-1870's, ormolu brass gas sconce in the form of flower stem and leaves holding a ruffled milk glass flower shade. Electrified but need re-wiring. It measures 121/2" long X 41/2" across the shade(all measurements approx. Very good plus condition: original ormolu finish has dulled or worn some, no dents or breaks to brass. Antique Spelter Gilt Wall Sconce Light Lamp Gas/Electric Fixture
Up for sale is an antique gas wall sconce I purchased at an estate sale. It is made of spelter and painted gold. It was originally made for gas. But has been converted to electric. It has a 2 candlestick design and is in good to fair condition. I noted a crack in one of the arms(it doesn't appear to be weakening the arm, but there appears to be inner hardware that is preventing the piece from falling off) and I also noted the the mounting plate is missing a piece, but other than those flaws any other issues seem to be minor wear and tear. I do not see any rust or corrosion. This lamp would look fabulous on a wall as an accent light, or perhaps used in a hallway. It would even look great in the garden on a fence or barn. This fixture is meant to be hard wired to a switch, if wanting to use as a light, I'd recommend the electrical work ... morebe done by a trained electrician for safety reasons. ANTIQUE GAS SCONCE - TURES LIGHTING SYSTEM - PAT.JAN. 26, 04 - WORKING FIXTURE
Offered for auction. A great old wall sconce. This is a working gas unit from the TURES LIGHTING SYSTEM, PAT. JAN. 26, 04. This manufacturing company was in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The unit is out of a farm house that dated from the 1800's. I tested the unit and it works fine. Both the gas control valve and the needle valve function properly. Unfortunately I don't have the globe. The unit stands out from the wall 18 inches and is 14-1/2 inches top to bottom. The metal is not magnetic and I think it is plated brass. The unit has a metal label identifying the company and patent date. Please e-mail me if you have any questions.

ANTIQUE CIRCA 1885 GAS WALL SCONCE - HEAVY FILIGREE and DEEP ETCHED SHADE
ANTIQUE ALL BRASS HIGH END GAS WALL FIXTUE with original hardware. Deep etched shade with 5 inch fitter- ELECTRIFIED This is an awesome late 1880s-1890s gas wall fixture with all of its original parts. Back plate. Antique 5 inch fitter with rosette screws and heavy cast filigree and wreath gas cock. The fixture has only been cleaned and the original patina has been sealed. The shade is a high-end. Deep etched design with birds, leaves and flowers. The top rim is"rough cut" from the factory and there are a couple of small flakes on the very top that are hard to see. I almost couldn't tell if they are part of the manufacturing process or nicks from the gas lighter. The lamp has been wired with a bronze candelabra base socket that blends right in and looks as close to a gas burner as you can get. The lamp takes a candelabra base ... morebulb up to 60 watts and looks great on a dimmer switch. The back plate is about 4.5 inches in diameter so it will fit over your wall mount electrical box. Vintage 1930s Gas Station Bathroom Sconce Brass Old Light Fixture Pull chain
I found this antique wall sconce in my grandfather's work room. He told me he pulled this fixture from an abandoned gas station bathroom in southern Illinois in the 1950s. He used to explore burned out buildings for a hobby and look for Momento's and this fixture was his Momento. From what I see of the wiring. It is cloth wire. You would definitely need to have an electrician inspect this fixture before it would be safe to install. Although the wiring looks okay, there is no way to tell unless you have a professional look at this fixture. I am selling this as an antique that is as is as found in need of a professional to inspect the wiring. You will accept full responsibility in determining if this fixture is safe or not.
