All new modern sockets and wiring but with high quality brass casting and design. This is a large fixture and the pictures may not convey the scale. It measures 63" tall x 33" wide. It is perfect for a Victorian entryway or stairway. You would need tall ceilings for this one. Check out the pictures. The detail is beautiful. Cast Griffins and torches are right out of the 1800's. This fixture is not marked but in excellent condition. The 5 brass arms have gas key turns and nice solid brass shade holders in a period style. Shades are hand tooled glass. The design on each shades is of flowers and trees repeating around the base. The shades are French and marked"CVV Vienna and Made in France" They have a wonderful blue tint at the ruffle rimmed top. Each measures 8 1/4" wide x 5 1/2" tall. Perfect scale for this size chandelier. ONE OF A KIND! Monumental Late 18th c Continental Carved Gilt wood what was a Floor Gas Chandelier/ Lamp base. A meticulously with high attention to details. Carved base is tripod and has three gargoyle supports for the lower baluster-form body continue to a more narrow with acanthus leaf round top. The wood show great age. You can notice small cracks here and there. Over the lifetime this piece was repaired in a few places. I see missing piece pict#4. Sometimes in a past it was refinished through which we can see a dark bordo color base( was used instead of the later used white gesso base) under the original gilded finish. the bronze ball rolling hardware was attached sometimes in late 19th early 20th c. will help to"drive" the piece from place to place using one hand. Here it is and you can see it was hanging an being used until I just took it down. This is a fantastic solid brass chandelier that will come to you complete and in very good condition. This chandelier is original and early. Circa 1900-1910 made when no one was sure if electricity was going to stay around and be reliable. It is original made to use both gas and electricity. The 3 glass shades that point downward are for electricity; and the 3 glass shades that point up are for gas, also those arms have the gas shut off valves. Its nice to see apiece like this unpainted, damage free& with all the glass shades. I purchased this in the 1970's and it was polished and rewired to be all electric at that time. This as found chandelier was recently removed from a house built in 1896 and it appears to be all original. The fixture measures 33” tall x 18” x 10” and is all brass with ¾” diameter stem. 5” diameter canopy and lots and lots of finely cast brass ornament in the French Rococo flavor. It retains original surface color overall and boats an outrageous asymmetrical design with twisting gas arms flanking a 3 ¼” drop shade holder, presumably for a stalactite shade. Early 20th Arts& Crafts chandelier with caramel slag glass lantern center body and two gas arms that have been converted to electricity. Four rectangular panels of caramel slag and the four bent glass panels in the access door appear to be original and free from cracks or repairs. Both gas arms have been electrified. Period keyless Edison sockets have been installed inside of the cast brass Acanthus leaf covers. The finial located on the bottom of each arm originally doubled as the gas shut off valve. The socket located inside of the center body is accessed via the bent glass panels door located on the bottom of the fixture. One side is hinged and the opposite features a cast brass latch. A very fine antique. Circa 1890's, fancy brass gas chandelier converted to electric. There are five scroll arms that have brass sockets and pull chains. There is new wiring for ceiling connection to wall switch. Five new turnip shape art glass shades with gold iridized pulled feathers decoration are included. From the brass ceiling canopy down to the drop finial of the fixture measures 44" tall. Each arm 14" from center radius. Excellent condition: brass without dents or breaks, original patina. Wow a true one of a kind fresh estate find(remote primitive Vermont homestead) hanging gas chandelier light. Very early and very original. Measuring approx. 36" tall and 25" across is this monumental hand forged( a true early artisan blacksmith creation) forged iron with no welds all iron is tooled and hammer meshed together to act as a unit, iron clasp and forged rivets. 4 tubular forged iron gas tubes that lead to 4 forged duel valves w/ bronze control knobs( couple are bent) for a total of 8 flames or torches. Flame nozzles appear as a mini fire hose nozzle, 12 original separate mica lens( material used in old wood stove windows) encircle the entire chandelier with 1 broke. This is a very old original gas chandelier that one can assume needs reconditioning to be used as it once was over 100 years ago. Vintage Brass Victorian Gas Style Hanging Ceiling Chandelier Double Shade
For your consideration is a brass ceiling fixture probably from the later 20th century which looks reminiscent of a Victorian gas lamp. It is ready to hang from most standard electrical ceiling boxes. Complete with straps. It is just as it was taken down. The lamp holders are porcelain, the rest of the lamp appears to be brass(it is non-magnetic) The canopy is separated where it looks to have been soldered at one time, but functions. The outside measurements are approx. 18" wide x 24" long, from the end of the pipe to the bottoms of the sockets. The brass is discolored, there are signs of solder at some joints, and the canopy is in two rather than one piece. There are only three set screws to hold the shades in the fixture, instead of six(three are missing) The two arms are similar, but the bends are slightly different. Original chain pull sockets and fantastic acid etched shades. Underneath several layers of paint the original 2 tone finish was just visible enough to restore. Finished with a dark bronze coating and natural brass highlights. The gas arms have been wired and bronze candelabra base sockets are used that look very authentic inside the gas shades. ANTIQUE 1885 Gas 3 light ceiling fixture with filigree and hard etched shades Beautifully and lightly restored late 19th century fixture with ornate brass filigree. Original patina(only gently cleaned) and fantastic deep etched shades. It doesn’t get as close to the day it came out of the factory as this! The arms have been wired and bronze candelabra base sockets are used that look very authentic inside the gas shades. All brass retains its original patina. Cast brass filigree and wreath gas keys. Arts & Crafts Ceiling Fixture Chandelier W Daisy & Diamond Glass Gas Shades
For the sake of clarity. The first two pictures, in which the fixture appears to be affixed to the ceiling, are actually photos of the fixture sitting on a table inverted 180 degrees so that viewers can see how it would look mounted. In the next photo, it is being held up so that the pull chain(which is in working order) is dangling as it would when in place. The piece is in nice. Solid shape with a little rust on part of the rims of the fitters which aren't very noticeable, and probably much less so when up on the ceiling. The bottom of the shades would be 8 1/4" from the ceiling when mounted. It is 15 1/2" from far edge of one shade to the far edge of the next. It is about 5 1/4" from the back of the fixture to the tip where the chain is affixed. And the chain hangs 7 3/4" from there. The shades measure 4 1/8" ... morehigh. 7 1/8" across with 3 3/4" fitters. They are in generally good shape, with a bit of rust where they mount on the fitter which wouldn't be visible when in place. Two have tiny fleabite marks on their edges(photos#10& 11) which are pretty hard to see as well. Thank you!

There are three contemporary satin floral glass shades, and three plastic candle surround sockets. The fixture measures 26" tall from ceiling canopy down to teardrop finial, the candle bobeches 12" wide from the center axis. In working order with new cord and plug for ceiling connection. This combination gas and electric brass ceiling fixture/ chandelier was salvaged from an San Francisco estate. The fixture contains four curved tubular arms. Two which are electric and two which are gas. The two candelabra style gas lights are positioned upward and are controlled with a decorative ribbon-shaped key. The two electric lights point downward and have a black on/off switch. Glass shades can be added to the fixtures, however they are not included. The original 42" long stem and ceiling canopy are intact and show a nicely developed patina. The gas arms extend 12" from the center while the electric arms reach out 10" The electric fixtures should be rewired before using. This beautiful two arm gasolier is an authentic 1856 Starr-Fellows reproduction. This fixture was created from an original historic fixture using the lost wax method. I purchased this for my 1861 house here in Philadelphia 12 years ago and have decided to take another direction as I undergo another renovation. Purchased in unlacquered brass.
