Unique antique twin arm 1920-30 chalkware flower basket wall sconce ribbon rose
This auction is for an absolutely charming. Unique, twin arm wall sconce. It is molded chalkware from the 20's or 30's and looks like a basket of Spring posies being held to the wall by a large gold ribbon! The arms are metal. It is a pretty piece! It was probably a boudoir piece; but would also be so cute in any cottage decor! This piece measures: 17" long x 9" across at the arms x 6" deep. Issues: This item has hollow arms that undoubtedly held electric wires and the fluted ends held a"candle" electrical fitting to house a bulb. The hole in the middle of the basket housed the on/off switch. There is no reason why this couldn't be rewired to work properly as an electric fixture! As is; it has the right kind of paint loss to be"Shabby Chic" but wouldn't take much to be touched up or repainted ... moreto fit your own decor. Including"dressed up" for an elegant setting! This item does not have major chips; although there are some small ones that have been repainted. It has not been broken. The metal arms are secure and there is a secure metal bracket on the back that was used for wall attachment. This item does not smell of smoke. Mildew, must, mothballs or have pet odor. ANTIQUE VINTAGE REGENCY ORNATE BRASS URN BASKET LOTUS FLOWER & VINE CHANDELIER
We are pleased to offer this EXCEPTIONAL vintage chandelier. This fixture dates to the Mid Century period. It is extremely ornate and features a double urn or basket(an upper and lower basket) with an abundance of flowing vines and lotus flowers. The chandelier has a total of 12 arms. Six of the arms are lighted and 6 are simply decorative. The lighted arms operate with a standard size(not small chandelier) bulb. The decorative arms extend downward from the upper urn/basket and they rotate freely in the basket for exact placement. There are no manufacturer's marks but this is a very nicely made. Quality fixture. The fixture retains approximately 12 inches of ornate brass chain as well as the ceiling canopy/cover and attachment screw. Looking for something unusual these tole ware lamps are typical french made from the 1920s through to the 1970s. All metal,you should always have these items checked by electrician before usage* bulbs not supplied, just standard screw in type 240 volt available as candle type in the uk 40/60 watts this measures 16 inchs tall to the top of hook and then theres the chain which could be shortened or lenthened depending where its going, this one having a span of 13 inchs all metal f lowers and leaves. They simply hang from a screw in hook in the ceiling and the wires are hidden under the sconce weighs nearly 4 kgs when packed.
