Stunning Victorian Hanging Light Shade Dome Cobalt Blue Glass & Hammered Metal
This auction is for a Striking Victorian Hanging Light Shade or Dome. It is uniquely shaped with ribbed paneled glass colored in a vivid Cobalt Blue and accented with bright metal strips hammer chased to resemble feathers or leaves that come together at the base and meet a bright chased pointed cap. The piece also has a neatly stylized fitter ring with images of stars and prongs shaped like a dragon head. Overall. The piece is in good condition, especially for its age. There are no cracks or chips to the glass. Several o f the metal strips appear to have come loose slightly and the previous owner has glued them back(see last photo) Some of the cobalt coloring is coming off the glass. Mainly at the fitter rim(see photo 11) It doesn't detract from the overall appeal of the Fabulous Piece. The piece measures 14 1/4 inches tall and is about ... more11 inches at its widest point. Vintage Crouse Hinds industrial wall light. Pewter cage and cast iron base(Two markings: Crouse Hinds and?can't read and Condulet) Cobalt blue glass globe with markings(Crouse Hinds. Made in USA, and VH with a& in a circle) Used condition. Base is about 13 1/8" where cage meets base. The cage has damage and I don't think it is the original because there is a place for the screw to go but none on the cast iron piece. I did not want to force the cage off-looks like an adhesive may be holding it on. The globe is original to the base and is not broken. Sold in as-is condition. Total length about 10 1/2" Cage about 13 1/8" around and 6 1/4" long.
