I sell a number of these wonderful fixtures each year(see link below) There is a wide variety in terms of colors. Patterns, and details, but each Duplexalite comprises a single 300W socket, a glass bottom shade, and a large metal shade above. The fixtures throw a lot of light UP, and thus a highly diffused, flattering light quality is the result. You can even find Duplexalites in the White House! However. This Duplexalite is really rare. I have never before offered one so simple. And believe the fixture to be a last generation and dating from circa-1950. Well, I just had to have it! A hidden ring holds the glass bottom shade. The larger metal shade simply sits on the ring. As mentioned. The fixture accepts a whopping 300W bulb(Mogul base) The metal shade retains its original painted finish. And this is a pale beige. The metal components have a slightly coppery finish(also original) The heat from the bulb burned off this finish on the socket housing. It seemed foolish to refinish it, so I simply polished the brass. This will patina down. The fixture is now 37-inches long(and 16-wide) I cannot make it longer. Four Lights, Gorgeous Ornate Brasswork See full description below ... morephotos. This is a beautiful old brass chandelier dating from around 1920-40. It is in the classic waterfall style so called because the crystal spears or icicles give the effect of a waterfall. There are seven skirts of crystals in total. Five at the base and two around the central column. In addition there is a lovely crystal ball at the bottom. Each of the pressed brass bands are beautifully embossed with a very ornate pattern. The brass had darkened greatly with age so we cleaned the surface which has highlighted the pattern against it's dark background. It was completely dismantled and restored in our workshop. It was then cleaned. The crystals were all re-hung by hand in the traditional way and it was of course completely rewired so in full working order ready for another 100 years decorating your home. All new brass bulb holders and electrical parts were fitted. There are four lights in total which are inside the frame so throw the light out through the crystals. Wholly restored and with new sockets and wiring. This fixture is ready to hang, and comes with all the mounting hardware needed! DETAILS: The fixture accepts four standard base 60W bulbs. COLOR: The shade has a white finish. Green leaves, and sorta salmon-colored flowers. The stem is white, with gold, and sorta raspberry flowers. SIZE: The fixture hangs down about 9-1/2-inches and is 16-inches wide. CONDITION: The shade. And porcelain stem, have no chips or cracks. The shade has a scratch on its inner painted finish(see last image) You cannot readily see this when the fixture is unlighted. Lighted. Pair Faux Apothecary Jar Display Glass Lamps Circa 1950's 60's Wired Lemons
up for consideration is a fine pair of Vintage Faux Apothecary Jars with lemons inside. The lamps measure 28 inches tall to the top of the harp by 6 inches wide by 19 inches tall to the socket. These are not real Apothecary jars that have been drilled into lamps they are just lamps made to simulate them. The lemons inside are made of composition or Chalk not sure. Anyways they are stylish and look to have been done in the late 40's early fifties. They function. I have the original shades that go with the lamps but they are rather sun faded.
