I’m very pleased to offer this stunning. High-quality, circa-1930 chandelier. The chandelier is beautifully made. The glass vase. In particular, is spectacular. It has gorgeous designs cut into the glass. There are also rich flourishes in cast brass. The classic black finish is original. The candle ... morecovers are original. Too. These are, unusually, brass, and retain their original creamy finish. I do not know who made the chandelier but suspect Lightolier due to the quality of the construction and design. The chandelier is not actually restored yet. All the wiring will be new. And the vertical wire will be cloth-covered like the original. The paper insulators will be new. The black finish looks good and will only requite some touching-up. All this will take a few weeks after payment is received. This chandelier will be shipped wholly restored and with new wiring. Ready to hang, and with all the mounting hardware needed! DETAILS: Sadly. The period-correct, hand-painted bulbs are not included. Happily, I will let you know where to get them. Also, any flame-style bulb will look well. The fixture accepts standard base 60W bulbs. The ceiling canopy is in two parts. There is a cast brass flourish. This is original. GOTHIC HANGING LAMP CHANDELIER WROUGHT IRON CIRCA 1930'S
This is an auction for a neat Gothic ceiling light or chandelier. This has five arms separated by five cast iron shields. At the end of the arms are light sockets. This is made out of iron and the wiring appears to be from the 1930's, IT NEEDS TO BE REWIRED. This is a very rare fixture. The lamp measures 21 X 22 inches not counting the chain. This came from a local estate, and has been storage for years. There is a little rust on the arms, which help verify the age. This is an no reserve auction after the opening bid. The finial and canopy are made of cast iron ~ the harp and body of the fixture is either aluminum or copper. It is a light weight metal that does not attract a magnet. ~ ART DECO LIGHT FIXTURE ~ ~ CIRCA 1930 ~ WE ARE LISTING A 3 LIGHT VIRDEN SLIP SHADE CHANDELIER IN ITS ORIGINAL UNRESTORED CONDITION ~ THE ELECTRICAL WAS UPDATED AT SOME POINT AND IS CURRENTLY WORKING ~ This is a wonderful example of Art Deco Slip Shade Lighting and the metal fixture can be left as is or restored depending on your need/preference! Measurements are approximately 16 inches in length and 13 inches in width. The length could certainly be increased with the addition of a vintage chain. There are 3 full porcelain sockets and newer vinyl-type wiring. The finial can be turned and used as an on/off switch which is always a nice feature. Please review our posted photos to evaluate the condition of the metal fixture. I cannot detect any rust on the fixture itself. However the metal does appear to be somewhat dirty. The 3 slip shades ... moreappear to have their original painted outer surface ~ this can be left as is, touched up or repainted. While none of the shades show any cracks, there are some small chips in the fitter regions. And now. An important word on packing and shipping. We take safe packing very seriously.
