The shades are correct period prismatic leaded Holophanes marked E7. This shadeholder style was used 1905 through the teens. The last picture shows this sconce in a 1912 Peters catalog with a different shade choice-Peters did not market Holophanes. A few of the Holophanes have flea bites on the ribs no worse than the one by my thumb in the last picture. These items are old and used but in good recondition so do not expect new. These sconces were designed to fit over a sink or vanity. This wall lamp has been washed, paint and most dings removed, and waxed. The canopy bell is 5 inches in diameter and will cover a standard outlet box. The wall sconces ... morestick out about 9 inches, they are about 171/2"wide and 11" top to bottom. They are all brass from around 1905-1916. Please see the other listings if you need more double sconces or pendants to match these. The shades for these are prismatic leaded glass period correct Holophanes marked E7. A few of the shades for these sconces have rib fleabites no worse than the one by my thumb in the tenth picture. But don't really stand out due to the design. The worst is pictured. I also have some of the satin E7 Holophanes(see the last picture) and I can ship you those instead-contact me for availability. These shadeholders were used from about 1905(patent dated) into the teens and not seen after WW1. Antique Set (4) 2 pairs French Bronze Louis XVI 3 arm Wall Sconces Circa 1910
Up for consideration is a fine set of 4 or 2 pair of Antique French Wall Sconces. The sconces date from about 1910 or so and measure 14 1/2 inches tall by about 10 inches by 5 inches deep. This set consists of 3 arms on each piece with great casting and super casting. As with good fine quality French Sconces they are cast in many separate pieces. The backplate consists of 3 separate pieces. There is a lacey bowtie top cascading down and tying into the top of the torch with descending bell flowers in the center body of the torch. These really show great attention to detail that is not fully demonstrated in the photos as the sconces are dark in patination. If you have any questions or concerns please email. The fixtures came out of an old hotel in Abilene, Kansas(the birthplace of Dwight ... moreEisenhower) The chandeliers have numerous details which are quite nice. I love the very long finials. The arms are also beautifully detailed. And have a subtle Viennese Secessionist-like quality. The chain holders are also very nice. Originally. The main bodies would have been painted. However, this was long gone when I acquired the set. Without knowing what the original color was, I decided to leave well enough alone and simply gently polished the brass(which has a slightly mottled patina) The cast-iron components(the arms, finial, and chain flourish) seem to retain their original gold finish. Curiously. The back-plates on two of the sconces are steel. So, I did a burnished gold finish on these, and on the third sconce(which has a brass back-plate) so it matches. Also, two sconces have switches to their right side(see image) these are new, too. The third sconce has a turn-key socket switch. Not all the fixtures are restored and rewired yet. This will take up to a week after payment is received. The fixtures will have lovely new cloth-covered wiring. This set will be shipped wholly restored and with new wiring. Pair of early 20th century(circa 1910) Neoclassical French. Two light, beveled mirrored, wall sconces with shades. Each weighs 6.4 lbs. 28" high x 15" wide x 6" deep each Fair to good condition. Very delicate. Cracks throughout that show up more obviously with the HD camera vs. the human eye. Silvering is coming off in some spots on the mirrors. However not too noticeable when hanging. This 12 candle chandelier puts out an enormous amount of light. Can be used with low as well as high ceilings or in hall ways. Very detailed ornate light casted in bronze with old world craftsmanship. Purchased in Europe on my last buying trip. With no exaggeration I think it is one highest quality lights I have seen in 20 years, it is solid and heavy built to last a life time. Up for consideration is a fine pair of Vintage/ Antique finely cast 2 arm wall Sconces. They measure 15 1/2 inches tall by 10 inches wide. They are unmarked. The sconces date from about 1910 or so and can be classified as Gothic in form. They are at present not wired. They can be wired without any problems the threaded post is present in both sconces. For sale is a wonderful example of an early 1900's American Victorian hanging metal and glass fixture consisting eight(8) glass panels on top and eight(8) smaller ones on the bottom section surrounded by fine ornate metal work design. The fixture needs"rewiring" for safety. The colors of the glass are beautiful and one of the larger panels has a crack( see photo) The fixture is quite heavy and measures 24" across x 11.5"h. I cannot find any manufacturers name but this was done by a real good maker. The fixtures metal frame has its original patina that is worn and one of the pieces of metal(see photo) needs reattaching at the top. Up for consideration is extra fine pair of French Bronze Wall Sconces in original Paint. They measure 15 1/4 inches tall by 10 inches wide by 5 inches deep. They are in incredible condition with fine jewelry quality casting. They are marked numbers on the back please see photos. The sconces are made of gilded bronze with enameled paint. One sconce has been rewired one has original cloth wiring. They date from about 1910. Sconces of this style and form do not get much better than this in quality. I think the set this was hand painted and is simply stunning All lighting worked when it was taken off the walls. But has been sitting for may years now and will need rewired. Very minimal paint loss on the sconces or hanging light. Please view photos carefully for the fine details on these rare pieces. The hanging light includes the ceiling plate and measures: 19" long from top finial to curved legs on bottom. Then the chain link and ceiling plate extend another 14" upward and the large hanging finial at the bottom extends downward another 4.5" Total length 37.5" Wall Sconces measure 11" tall x 10" across and extend outward from wall 3" I'm missing ... moreone of the gold prisms on the bottom of one sconce.
