There is also signs of rust on the thumb screws as well as the chain which would need to be cleaned up. It looks as if someone had started to restore this lamp but never finished. There are new wires as well as new sockets and it is being sold as working. The lamp shades shown in the pictures will be included. The glass lamp shades are free from any chips or cracks. The fitter size is a standard 2 1/4" so most antique lamp shades would fit this lamp. This lamp also comes with the ceiling canopy and the original mounting bracket. Antique Art NOUVEAU Arts& Crafts WATERBURY Brass Clock w/ BIRD c. 1894 Here is a gorgeous original antique brass Waterbury art Nouveau clock. It stands 7 1/2 ins. tall by 4 ins. wide at the base. It is in good condition. I have no idea if it works as I am always scared to wind these to test, so I don't. The clock face is in good shape, original glass cover. It is marked Manufactured by Waterbury Clock Co. U.S.A. On the back plate it is marked with this. Last patent date is 1894 for this one. Then you see the other Waterbury mark. Clock face is about 1 15/16ths ins. approx. I liked the little bird down here. I believe this is brass with a brass finish. It measures 24” tall(16” to the top of the socket) and sports an original 8” x 35” square shade having solid brass riveted frame with steel under structure. The textured opalescent slag glass is all original with no cracks. But a tiny corner loss as photographed. The base is brass plated cast iron with minor rust and it is very dirty and attic fresh. Hi Super Original Desktop Box in dark wood with brass finish to the edges. Mounted on circular brass feet and with an inset design to top in brass. I cannot decide if this box is Art Deco or possibly Art Nouveau going by the design to the top. Internally the box has been felt lined to the base and a piece of fabric has been affixed to the inside of the lid using drawing pin's which still has two long pins(hat pins) in place. It has applied strap handles and very small hammer marks permeate the entire body. The vase sits a little uneven. And the top edge has a flattened area. Up for auction is a Vintage Brass Letter"L" that was removed from an old building in Boston. This brass wall letter measures about 3 5/8" tall and about 2 7/8" wide" wide at the widest point. 1/2" thick. It's a solid brass piece weighing about 8 ozs. There are three threaded holes for mounting in the back(screws not included) or it can stand on its own. It's a nice piece of brass that has weathered some has some dings and scuff marks. Antique Arts& Crafts. Art Nouveau Brass Overlay Slag Glass Desk Lamp. Fresh from a local Jersey Shore estate. Original untouched condition. The lamp is 14.5" tall. The Bryant socket is patent dated 1907 with a bakelite switch marked Perkins. Simple brass base with iron harp. Original green felt on iron weighted bottom. Brass shade with cut out Art Nouveau designs backed with original slag glass panels and brass bullet finial. The socket and switch appear to be in working order and the wiring and plug appear to be in good condition but you should probably have the lamp rewired to be on the safe side. The lamp was very dirty when I found it. I gave it a superficial cleaning but that is all. The brass looks like it would polish up nicely if you were so inclined. This is a beautiful brass vase. Possibly continental, with typical Glasgow Rose pattern alternating with a stylised Secessionist influenced design. It is in excellent, clean and, apart from a couple of tiny"dings" in the neck, undamaged condition. Height 35cm. The only mark I can make out on the base is what appears to be a"P" in the centre; I have not attempted to clean the base up to find any other lighter impressions. I am not a dealer but a collector; we have had this vase for about 12 years and are now changing around our Arts& Crafts/ Nouveau collection. A large antique solid brass stylised dolphin sculpture. Mounted via a shaft to a brass plate on an oak base it is very reminiscent of Arts& Crafts styling. The thick brass dolphin is the same on both sides and there is the mark of where a plaque/cartouche was mounted on the base. Green baize to the underside. Anitque Art Nouveau/Arts& Crafts huge hammered brass brooch w/acorns 4+" x 2" The point of the pin reaches to within 1/4" of the edge of the brass large 7/8" faceted amber stone very dimensional. Great detail; acorns have textured caps, leaves curl up on the tip of the lobes and have incised very natural looking veins, this brooch is wonderfully organic when looking at the back with a loop. You can see faint tool marks from when it was made has the'c' clasp. So probably around the turn of the century the pin is a little bent. See the photo, however is very secure when closed. c1900 arts & crafts art nouveau WAS benson style brass desk lamp reading lamp
A nice quality arts& crafts WAS Benson style brass adjustable desk or reading lamp. The lamp has a triform base with nicely shaped legs terminating in pointed feet. One leg extends outwards and loops over which would have been designed to hang from something. There is also a pierced hole which could allow the lamp to be hung like a wall lamp. The shaft is a simple baluster in brass with a turned knop to the top. The later replacement bulb socket is fitted to a brass hinged bracket which is secured via a screw and a wing screw to each side. When loosened, this allows the light to be adjusted to varying angles to suit. A shade could be fitted to the socket. There are what appear to be initials to one foot(pictured) which could be IS or TS or a number 18, i am unsure as to be exact. The lamp has some surface marks and scratches and some ... moreold lacquer in places but it has a polished finish and looks really nice. With socket vertical the lamp measures 10 inches in height. No repairs, splits or other damage. A good decorative and functional piece of original arts& crafts lighting.

Art Nouveau or Arts and crafts tazza Macintosh style tulips This handsome tazza is a bit of a mystery: it has the colour of patinated copper with the central parts of the stylised flowers being brass but I can't say exactly what it's made from. It is very much in the Charles Rennie Macintosh style and may once have had a glass liner but is still very functional and decorative. It stands 5.25" high x 8.25" in diameter across the top. This is a pair of antique machine age arts and crafts or folk art brass and iron wire candlesticks. These are so wonderful! But it's hard to give them a specific name. Are they arts and crafts. Machine age, folk art? Each category fits well to describe them. One stands 9 1/2 inches tall( 24.13 cm) and the other one is 9 3/4 inches tall(24.77 cm) The bases are 5 inches wide(12.7 cm) Together they weigh 1 lb. 8 oz. 680 grams) They are almost identical. Except if you look close up, one of them has a longer"wrap around wire coil" And it's also about one quarter inch taller than the other one. The other looks like it has a tighter"wrap around wire coil" The candle cups are made of brass and the rest is iron. One cup has a small crack in it. I'm sensing one is a man and one is a woman. WOW! Art &Crafts Period Brass Metal Original Glass Shades Ceiling Light Fixture
Excellent Brass& Glass Art& Crafts Period Light Ceiling Fixture. A Truly Great Large Craftsman Fixture! Nice Patina on the Brass Base. The Base is Excellent(see photos) The White Glass Shades Are All Original. They are great as well- a little roughness and tiny chips along the inside of the rim on a couple of them- hardly noticeable but had to be mentioned for the Ebay microscope. Someone before me went through this fixture and updated the wiring and the sockets. In the process they changed the individual lights from having switches to having the whole fixture hardwired for connection to the ceiling and then controlled by a light switch. See photo# 9- the oval shaped hole where the switches once were. I am glad they kept the original brass socket covers even with the switches gone. They have a nice. Consistent patina and match the ... morerest of the fixture. One of the loop attachments to the brass socket covers has"opened up" see last photo) It does not negatively affect anything in terms of stability, again, had to be mentioned. I will repair or replace that before shipping. It measures 16" in overall height from the bottom of the shades to the top of the fixture where it connects to the chain. It is about 21" across at its widest points. The shades are 6" in diameter and about 4-1/4" in height. The circular center of the brass fixture is 11" in diameter. Vintage/ used brass teapot. Creamer, sugar,no lid, and tray. The first three pieces are marked Germany, and the tray is marked: Made In Germany For Black, Starr& Gorham Handarbeit. Well hand crafted pieces, beautifully made, with hammered pattern. The tray has a larger hammered pattern, not as uniform as the other pieces. The tray is approx. 9 1/8" across the top and a 3/8" lip, the teapot is approx. 6" tall and 9" across, from spout to handle, the creamer, 4 1/4" tall, and sugar, 3 1/2" tall. Overall clean. The inside teapot shows light use, a couple light scratches, from use, but not damaged. It has traces of polish in some edges, and some random tarnish spots.

Welcome to Au Fil de l'Eau Here is a wonderful and rare German Art Nouveau Secessionist Arts and Crafts little brass and copper planter/cup made by Carl Deffner of Esslingen. Germany. A great addition to your collection! Carl Deffner. Esslingen, Germany, made decorative copper, brass and plated tableware. He was born in 1856 and took over management of his father's metalware factory in 1900. Responsible for many excellent designs during the art nouveau and art deco periods. The factory closed in 1959. I sold some first world war items on e bay last weak which I got in a job lot of stuff ages ago I was going to keep this letter opener because I like it but have decided to sell it as I keep hording things. I think its trench art by the look and style of it and the fact it came in a job lot with lots of first world war things it has no names or inscriptions on it. The condition of the letter opener is the blade is slightly misshapen and as it is a letter opener the blade is totally blunt not sharp u could get the blade straightened out I have taken a picture next to a pound coin so u can see the size. The container is made of hand hammered brass and measures approximately 6 1/4" tall and 3 3/4" at the widest/ The wand is about 11 1/4" long. The container that stores the whale oil. Or kerosene is a mission style and has a handle with a key hole for easy hanging. The handle of the wand is made of cast iron and a pumice stone is mounted to the end. Up for auction; 4 antique brass door push plates being offered"as is as found" We have left the age-acquired verdi gris patina. Will leave any cleaning and polishing to the new owner if they should so choose. These are old and this is the original condition, they show the appropriate wear from use and age. They are a little bent along the edges, they could probably be straightened out. There are 3 plates that match and the 4th one is close, with the only difference being the ribbed design on the top and bottom edge are rounded rather than straight across. All have a deep ridged pattern and a hole in each corner for mounting. Two- a matching set measure 8 inches by 3 inches. And of the other two, the one with the rounded design measures 8 inches by 3 inches, the last one is a little shorter measuring 7 3/4 inches by 3 inches. Buffalo Art Crafts Shop inkwell, brass and copper, heavy
For sale from my personal collection is this beautiful. Heavy, and well-made gothic-style arts and crafts inkwell by the Buffalo Art Crafts Shop in Buffalo. NY. It is beautifully signed and has the beautiful elaborate hinge on the top and back of the inkwell. This company was in business from 1900-1908 before becoming Heinz. The box is made of thick brass with 28(yes 28! copper rivets. A copper pin in the hinge, and a copper bottom where the signature is. Heavy well-made Arts& Crafts item for your desk collection. The glass inkwell part is missing. As is often the case with these inkwells. I am including an inkwell top so you can have the dimensions easily with you and find a replacement glass inkwell, if you desire. Size is rectangular 5.5" at base foot to foot x 2.75" wide x 3.5" tall.

They are purposely designed to look like plants or animals with a large circle of brass pinhole cast to allow the fire to show inside the design. The cast iron bases have a hammered pattern cast into the metal. These are incredible and would add a wonderful dramatic design element to any Victorian or Arts& Crafts home. ARTS AND CRAFTS ART NOUVEAU BRASS CHARGER WITH REPOUSSE DESIGN NEWLYN/ KESWICK? Superb Large Brass Hand Crafter Charger with Repousse Design. Arts and Crafts. Circa 1900. Offered for sale with no reserve! Here we have a lovely example of Arts and Crafts/ Art Nouveau period metalware. This large brass charger is a very decorative item and has been hand worked with a repousse design featuring a stylised rose. The charger is approx 17 inches in diameter. There are no maker's marks that I can find but it is similar to items produced by Newlyn or Keswick School of Industrial Arts. As it was purchased in the Lake District there is a greater likelihood, I think. Of it being a Keswick piece. The charger is on very good order with just one of the small trangular wall hangers at the back missing. There is still one in place and we have wall hung ... moreit off this one alone for the past 15 years of owning the charger with no problems- it is strong enough to take the weight. The charger weighs in at approx 1.2 kg unpacked. I have not polished the charger as some collectors prefer unpolished items. However it would shine up beautifully with just a light clean. PUGIN BENSON ERA An exceptional light fitting/ bracket dating from the late 19th Century early 20th Century period. Has a superb ecclesiastical/ pugin design. This item was purchased with two other light fitting parts which were also from the Benson era(Benson designed items such as light fixtures) Measurements: 8.75inches long from the wall fitting plate. The plate is 4.5inches high and 2.5inches wide. It is 8inches long from the hinged mechanism. The'screw' element is not very high. Only 0.5cm high(kindly note the change from inches to cm for this measurement) Condition: Good- there is wear to the metal but no damage. Where the'screw' element is this part seems abit out ... moreof shape i.e. not 100% straight. The hinge mechanism moves freely. There is evidence of cleaning as some white bits in places(not me! From one estate. Very very nice lot of 6 antique Art Nouveau brass drawer pulls. These are exquisite and in good condition with attaching screws. They are 7" wide and 2" tall. Hole spacing is 4" center to center. It appears there used to be some type of insert where the three holes are.No longer with the set.
