2 VINTAGE PAULDING PORCELAIN ART DECO BATHROOM WALL ELECTRIC LIGHT SCONCES
Here are 2 great 1930's art Deco porcelain wall sconce lights from Paulding. You will see in the pictures that they are in great condition. I have not tried to clean them and appear to be fully functional. The fastening screw is included and the pull chain porcelain end is also still intact. Very hard to find everything together. These also have the outlet on the bottom behind the pull chain. These can be wired 250v 10amp or 125v 15 amp. I have had some questions about the wiring so I have included 2 more pictures. DESCRIPTION: A vintage pair of matching Art Deco. Sconce style, wall hung bathroom light fixtures. They are 100% Complete, 100% Original, 100% Operational! I do not know the age, but am guessing circa 1930's. They both have a round bakelight switch at their base which allows for individual control of the lights aside from any wall switch to which it may be connected. The glass cylinder"chimneys" are large enough to accomodate regular size incandescent bulbs(I photographed one of them with a 60W bulb to demonstrate it's luminescence) The sconces appear to be nickel plated. A magnet will stick to them and the plating is thick. But please note that I am not a metallurgist. There are several design indentations located at several places on each sconce, in which it offers a textured surface that is in contrast to the super sleek ... moreshine of the majority of the surface area. The chimneys are a white milk colored glass(NOT frosted) and are evenly shaped cylinders. Important dimensions: Total Height = 8 1/2 inches. Chimney Height = 5 inches. Chimney Diameter 2 3/4 inches. Sconce Height(at the wall) 6 inches. Sconce Width(at the wall) 3 7/8 inches. Mounting Bracket = 3 3/4 inches Long. CONDITION: These matching fixtures are 100% operational. The condition of the electronics. Except for the wiring, is excellent for its age. I tested lights and switches on both lamps, and they performed perfectly. The sockets are in great shape. Here is a set of three different art deco porcelain light fixtures. All are in nice shape with no cracks or chips in the porcelain. Two have the existing wiring with pull chains. One is just the porcelain piece itself. I have wiped down the front of them to give a better idea of what they look like. But have left the backs as they were. Pieces measure between 5 1/2" and 6 1/4" in height. The two on the right are white. Vtg Rare Black Porcelain Ceramic Bathroom Light Fixture Wall Mount Pull Chain
Up for auction is a vintage porcelain/ceramic bathroom light fixture. Ceiling or wall mount. I got this from an estate. It was part of a complete bath set. But some of the other pieces were broken. Before they remodeled the house, it had Robin's egg blue tile with the black fixtures. How retro is that color combination? It is oval shaped. Black with a black porcelain chain pull and white porcelain/ceramic screw ring that holds the socket in. Single socket with a pull chain. Has a 2-prong plug receptacle, but has no wiring to it. It's in very good used condition. No cracks or breaks. There are 2 or 3 tiny spots that look like flaws from manufacture. They are so small and hard to see that I cannot say for certain that they aren't chips. I just can't tell for sure. One chip on the inside of the base rim(that goes against the ... morewall) it won't be seen when mounted. The chain pulls on/off easily. The socket unscrews from the fixture easily. The shade is about 4" X 4 3/4" wide with a fitter of about 3 1/8" 3 1/4, which is held in place by well-fitting, sturdy screws.
