The vintage Cupid brass figure is approximately 8 1/2 inches tall and the lamp with the shade stands around 18 inches tall. It is on a solid marble base. My estimate for the figure and base is around the 1930s and it has a French look to it. The beautiful thing is that it has been rewired professionally. So no worries about the wiring. Also, the shade is newer and looks pretty nice, but the statue is exquisite 1930s beauty. It has excellent detail like a great sculpture. It has its original patina. Nothing on the statue is broken, cracked. The nose has a bit of wear like somebody was rubbing it, but that makes it charming. I tried to capture the nose in the photographs. This is a smaller lamp. So please consider the size of 9 inches is. The size of the statue. Again, this is quality. I purchased this from an estate. The house was way over $1 million. I like the shade, but it isn't original to the lamp. This lamp would look beautiful with an antique shade in my opinion. So please examine the pictures carefully because what you see in the pictures and what I describe will be better than what you see in the pictures and what I describe when it arrives. The metal appears to be either bronze or brass. They have ornate openwork with a brass plate attached to the back that has a reddish, crackled, finish on the front(it shows through the openwork on the back of the sconce, see photo) The finish appears to be original and so do the cardboard candle covers(the covers have a lot of wear) They both have an on/off switch that appears to be working(it clicks when you turn it) Each sconce measures approximately 12 1/4" high x 9 1/4" across(end of arm, to end of arm) x about 4 7/8" across the back plate that mounts to the wall. Ornate brass chandelier lantern light fixture in untested condition. This light measures 26" tall and 12" wide. There is a chain on the top which is about 2' tall and grimy. This light is somewhat heavy. It weighs about 17 pounds. There are supposed to be a total of 8 glass panels which have an etched design but 1 of them is missing. There are 4 arms/lights. I picked this ornate and beautiful little sconce up at an antique store. Right downtown here in Philadelphia for $95 about 10 years ago. The bronze like patina features a typical victorian greek revival leaf pattern around the rim. The interior medallion has a deeply recessed acanthus leaf design. It's graceful arms gently swag, reminiscent of an old-world French chandelier. Best of all a working 3 prong electric plug which can easily be removed and replaced with an on/ off switch if you prefer. I bought it with the shades pictured on it. These attractive and highly desire able shades are from the 40s or 50s and the sconce itself is from between 1900 to 1940. The wiring is newer and looks usable. HOWEVER FOR SAFETY reasons. I would recommend rewiring all used lighting fixtures before installing in your own home.
