It originally had a central oil lamp with a ring of 9 candles around the perimeter. The oil lamp is now converted to hold an electric bulb. The bronzework on this chandelier is superb. With massive construction and fine Louis XVI styling and details. It is nicely patinated to a medium bronze color and we did not attempt any restoration or polishing. This is a counterweighted chandelier that can be easily adjusted up and down. However, the adjustment chains are short and not much adjustment is presently available(replacing the chains would solve this if additional height adjustment is desired) The wiring and socket are old and in poor condition and must be replaced before use. Up for consideration is a fine set of 4 or 2 pair of Antique French Wall Sconces. The sconces date from about 1910 or so and measure 14 1/2 inches tall by about 10 inches by 5 inches deep. This set consists of 3 arms on each piece with great casting and super casting. As with good fine quality French Sconces they are cast in many separate pieces. The backplate consists of 3 separate pieces. There is a lacey bowtie top cascading down and tying into the top of the torch with descending bell flowers in the center body of the torch. Very beautiful! We are pleased to offer this antique(c1940s) French. Louis XVI styled brass and crystal chandelier. This lovely, elegant fixture is LOADED with crystal details. The chandelier frame is brilliant brass, open cage design, with an incised, faux twist pattern on the arms. The frame is a delicate brass cage which is scrolled on the top and bottom. The frame attaches to the bottom of the chandelier in between each arm. The top of the fixture has a total of 8 large crystal florettes attached to the scrolled frame. There are 8 of the florettes toward the lower section of the frame as well. There are 3 tiers of crystal beaded chains which attach horizontally to the fixture. The top section of chain features a large, blue, raindrop crystal which hangs(vertically) in the center of the chains. The middle row of chains have a 4 bead crystal ... morechain that hangs vertically in the center. The bottom tier of horizontal chains do not have a vertical feature as the candle sleeves rise at this mid section. The bottom of the chandelier features 9 blue raindrop crystals. This is a stunning and eye catching chandelier! The chandelier includes original ceiling cover/canopy and several inches of original chain. The chandlier is in very good condition. There is expected aging to the brass patina in a few areas. But overall it is still brilliant brass in color. Florettes are in very good condition. Wiring is vintage, but is in very good condition and chandelier is working. It has a blue"Union Made" sticker attached to the inside of the canopy. There are no other marks. The detailing features a"mirrored image" in that the upper and lower sections have the same patterns but in reversed order. THIS IS AN INTRICATE, EXCEPTIONAL FIXTURE. The chandelier has 6 distinct panels. Each marked with a brass, fluted column. The columns have a top and bottom finial of a large acorn. Above and below each column is a large brass banner/flag/drape with ribbon accents and beaded borders. Above and below each banner is an acanthus leaf. This is a 19th century brass Gasolier. It's very large. It measures 44" high& 34" wide. The top canopy measures 10" across. The brass rim that the shade fits in measures 16" across. The frosted cut-to-clear shade measures 15 1/2" across and is 8" high. The hole in the brass top on the shade measures 2 3/4" across. This beautiful chandelier/ gasolier with the frosted cut-to-clear shade is from France and is heavy. It has a great patina on it. The wiring is old and should be replaced. I would think the light would work as is. But I haven't tried it. This originally used gas, but has been converted over to electric. All the gas valves are still present, and I'm sure could be converted back to gas. The shade does have a few small chips around the bottom rim. Which I believe is normal for these ... morekinds of lights. But it's nothing major. You can barely see them. You can mainly feel them when you run your hand around the rim. Also. I believe the chandelier is bent just a little bit, because when you put the glass shade in place one of the uprights next to it is closer than the other side. That makes me think it's bent just a little. I believe that shows in one of the pictures. I'm sure if someone takes the fixture apart, which I would think you would do to replace the wiring, it would be an easy fix. The canopy is very large on the top, and is beautiful. The two place candle pieces that hold the bulbs are broken, but can be replace easily. I will be shipping this in two different boxes to insure the shade doesn't get broken. I really have no idea what this gasolier is worth. But I do want to sell it. I'm putting a"buy it now" price on it, but if it's more than you think the chandelier is worth please be sure and make me an offer. High quality bronzework is nicely patinated to a very pleasant antique gilt finish. The wiring and all of the lights work, but the wiring is old and should be replaced before this chandelier is put into regular use. We are pleased to offer this beautiful pair of antique to older vintage wall lamps. The pair date to the early half of the 20th century and still retain the old. Blue, Union Made stickers. The pair of a gilded brass or bronze with exquisite and detailed patterns in the French, Louis XVI manner. They have a large, round center back plate with deep relief, neoclassical pattern. There is a ribbon detail at the top and a large, corded tassel detail at the bottom. Each has two lighted arms with flower pattern. Each arm houses 5 leaded, cut bead and spear crystals. Each arms utilizes one 40 watt bulb. In the center of the lighted arms is a smaller appendage that houses one bead and spear crystal. Each sconce contains 11 bead and spear crystals.
