This shade is free from any chips as you can see and is in very good overall condition. It comes with a brass fat boy paddle socket and antique 2 1/4" brass fitter. This lamp has been professionally rewired and is tested working. The diameter of the lamp shade is 9 3/4" an d the fixture hangs a total of 40" from the ceiling. Exact age unknown. We are told the more inclusions of bubbles in the glass the older the piece. This globe is loaded. Really a unique wonderful piece of glass. Hand painted but we think this was done in more recent times. We see the artisan had a few spots of paint outside the lines on the glass. Presented"as found" We see that this is slightly dirty and could use a careful cleaning. No chips or cracks but we do see some fleabites ... moreon the fitter flange. As the glass sits in the base this fixture measures approx. 8 1/2" tall. 4" fitter. The widest part of the glass measures approx. 7 1/4" diameter. The cast iron base measures approx. 6 3/4" diameter x 1 3/4" tall. It has some casting numbers. The glass attaches to the base with three set screws. The center to center mounting holes(base to ceiling) measure 3 1/2" diameter. Please look closely at the photos as the photos are integral to our description and is the best depiction of condition. The woman who sold them told me they were art deco but I believe the style is more art nouveau with the swirling curves. They are a very superb pair of sconces made of brass and are very solid and weigh over a pound. The mounting plates have a hammered texture and the rest of the sconces have a smooth surface. I have not polished them and have left the original patina. I only cleaned out the old candle was residue although there is still some left. The back of the mounting plates are marked Ges Gesch 21. I believe the sconces are either from Germany or Austria. They measure 8 1/4" long and are about 5" high when measured from the ... moretip of the scrolled base to the edge of the candle holder. ANTIQUE VICTORIAN FOYER CEILING SLAG LAMP CIRCA EARLY 1900'S
Here for your consideration is a beautiful antique Victorian style foyer slag lamp that was purchased from the estate of a home that was built in the 1920's. This piece is as breathtaking as it is unique. It is 18 inches in height. 10 1/4 inches wide, has a 6 inch chain, and a ceiling cone that is 4 1/4 inches wide by 3 1/4 inches tall. It features four slag"S" shaped curved caramel swerve colored glasses. All original, all in excellent condition. Also features 4 more"S' shaped narrow glasses that are located just behind each of the four ornately decorated gorgeous corners of the lamp. There are 4 crowning screw-in pieces located at the top corners of the lamp to allow easier access to the interior. To say that this lamp is a work of art is an understatement. Despite its wonderful features we are obligated of course ... moreto tell you of any defects. The tube that connects the chain to the ceiling has a little bit of build up. Or lite rust. However this does not stop it from screwing securely to the lamp and going through the cone. The lamp appears to have been spray painted gold and has some areas that are flaking, underneath reveals are beautiful dark patina. One of the small ornaments just above the larger"S" shaped glass appears to have been chipped and may have been repaired. It should be noted that this piece is small and not very noticable. Not a difficult repair should you decide to go that route. The bottom of the lamp has some scratches do to it being placed on the floor. The electrical wires have been updated. However we can not guarantee that they work. All in all it displays breathtakingly as it stands with just a few touch ups. Or it can be completely restored with its lovely dark patina underneath. Beautiful ANTIQUE ART NOUVEAU ceiling light fixture from an old hotel in Hillsboro. Tx. with the period Acanthus leaf details. We have had this since the hotel was torn down in the mid 1970's. My husband's family owned this property in Hillsboro which was built around 1900. Around 1969 or 70 some of the hotel was turned into dormitory rooms for the local Hill Junior College. Then around 1975 the property was sold and it was torn down for a grocery store. My husband and I grew up in Hillsboro, before moving to Austin for UT in 1974. This is one of the pieces I thought we had lost but I recently found. It's mixed metal. brass, cast iron, maybe more. There are some holes in the electrical canopy for whatever reason. Antique Wrought Iron Chandelier, 5 Bulb - Late 1800's Early 1900's
This is a great 5 bulb wrought iron chandelier. An estate item from a 50+ year old grandson who explained he had his grandmother's things. The fixture itself is 16" high and 18" in diameter +/ with another 16" of chain/post(9" chain& 7" post) then a 6" diameter ceiling plate. The acanthus leaves are steel, not iron, flexible, and are very sound. The wiring was original and unusable. I took the time to remove it and brushed the whole lamp down, leaving the patina or getting you that much closer to refinishing/rewiring. I hope it stays"rusty" The paper candles are dirty and a few wax drips are off. As well as the tops a little rough. I didn't try to clean them. The retainer tabs for the wiring are intact but one. I put a picture of a part of the wiring for dating, if you know about that. I ... morelooked up wiring and that fabric insulation ended by 1930 or so and started about 1875 I believe. I did not find any brand or maker's marks. All the finials/threaded parts turn and thread freely, not seized. The leaves at the bottom do have tiny holes at the tips to add crystals. No crystals are with it, but there was a tiny wire on one leaf that made sense when I looked at other examples. If you have any questions or would like additional pics, please ask. I reply fast. The rest of the canopy is pressed brass and has a couple of small dings in the smooth part. There is no nut and threaded tubing for the center of the fixture. The clear& frosted glass shades have a lovely ruffled edge and pleat design. The pleats are frosted on one side and clear on the other side. It gives the appearance of a very light frosting. No chips or cracks and they have a lovely bell tone when flipped with your finger. The gracefully curved arms have an engraved design on them. There are 2 matching sconces listed also that look like they were used with this one or in the next room. The glass is similar but does not match the glass on this ... more1 exactly. Fitter helps date this to early 1900's. Sides have raised shapes that are reminiscent of a claddagh. Frosted finish rounds out these pieces. These shades could be used with ceiling fans. Chandelier lamp styles, wall sconce, table, bath vanity or other light fixture that will fit a 2-1/4" fitter. Individually crafted with lots of bubbles within the frosted glass. Characteristic to crafting style. One shade measures about 4-3/4" tall and 6-3/4" by 6" at the top opening. The opening on this shade is rounded. But when measured seems a little more oval. This shade has an area on the side that is folded. Again not sure what this means. Maybe shade got hot ... morefrom light bulb and melted, or maybe this happened when it was being made. The other shade measures about 5" tall and 6-1/4" diameter wide. This shade is a little more round at opening than the other shade. The fitter hole for these shades is 1-7/8" diameter for inside fitter and 2-1/8" diameter for outside fitter. These shades will fit any light fixture with a 2-1/4" screw hardware mount. The globe has been fitted on a vintage solid brass cast canopy& shade holder fixture. That I have rewired with a new porcelain socket& wiring. MINT! 1900-1910 brass antique Mission style 4 arm ceiling fixture chandelier
Up for auction is a large 30"x18" antique brass light/ceiling fixture from 1900-1910. Craftsman or mission style. It is in absolutely MINT condition. Has turn switches and original fitters all with shade screws. I included one picture where I fitted the light with period shades, looks great; but the shades are not included in the auction. It looks to have been re-wired but I haven't tested it; always recommend a rewire on old fixtures. The fixture is just in terrific shape. Buyer pays shipping of $29.95 USPS Priority mail. Antique E.F. Caldwell Empire Style 2 Light Bronze Sconce RARE Lion & Ducks 1900
This listing is for an antique signed Caldwell(diamond- C) bronze sconce circa 1900. It has a winged loin head on the backplate. And duck heads on the arms. This model is extremely rare. The sconce has been completely rewired, and the candlesticks are replaced with modern plastic. I gently cleaned the sconce- as not to disturb the bright original finish. The sconce is very heavy(8 Lbs. 15 oz. and measures 12.7" wide, 8.1" deep, and 18.6" tall overall. It is in excellent condition with some minor age-appropriate wear. 1900's Antique HAND Forged GOTHIC Renaissance RARE & UNUSUAL Wall CANDLE SCONCE
Everything I know about this hand wrought iron and metal GOTHIC style SPANISH Revival WALL SCONCE came through the words of my grandfather about 55 years ago. He said that it was made in a iron foundry near Schwenksville. Pa. and that my nana HATED it! I guess foundry workers were left to design some of their own ideas at the end of the day. It has no foundry marks on it. But, I do know that my Pops friends father had a foundry in Schwenksville, for about a 100 ears in the Driehaus family. I am not saying for sure that it is attributed to that foundry. It just makes sense, unless it was from the foundry in Macungie, Pa, but they mostly did cast iron. No matter where it was made I'll bet t has a story to tell. Notice how the actual candleholders appear to have dripping wax in the design. But, I know that my Pop and dad were both metallurgists at the Bethlehem Steel Works and they had mutual friends that made items for such places as the Brigantine Castle in New Jersey and even older places like Dorney Park in allentown, Pa. I just wish I would have listened even more back in the 60's and 70's when he was trying to teach my the family history. Anyway. It is unique, in that it comes off the wall about 7 1/2" and has a back plate to attach to a wall. It is 11" tall and 8 1/2" across. Still has some old wax from candles on it, that I have left on it for years to add to the character of the piece. I try at all times to represent my item fairly. And truthfully. I do not use glamorous words, unless they are truly called for, and when I do, you can bet the item is as I have stated. This fixture begins with an understated canopy and chain, moving down to a twisted loop finial that connects to the lantern's domed roof. Each side of the lantern features a grouping of six arched cut-outs, allowing the beautiful amber granite glass panels to show through. Up for consideration is an Antique late 19th Century French beaded Empire 9 light Bronze and crystal chandelier. It measures 44 inches tall by 18 inches across. The fixture has 6 exterior lights with 3 interior lights. The piece has wonderful crystal drapes along the outside of the ring and large crystal ball on the bottom. Vintage Antique Early 1900's Bronze Ornate Porch Light Tudor Moorish 20" Tall
For your consideration is this exquisite solid bronze porch light from the turn of the century. This gorgeous light is 20" tall and 6 3/4" across and stands out from the wall 9 1/2" It takes a single standard Edison base light bulb. The backplate measures 10" tall by 5" across and the finial is 3 1/4" tall. The wonderful patina is mostly natural. In photo#6. It shows the back of the roof that did not take as much weather, there are remnants of the original black and verde gris finish, most of which is gone now as shown and only natural patina remains on most of this ornate bronze light. Photo# 7 shows some old paint on the back of the lantern from carelessness in house painting many years ago. Photo#10 shows the screws holding the roof to the lantern have been replaced with Philips head screws and are rusting, ... morebut holding securely. There is one repair to the light, the top steel rod holding the light to the back plate rusted through, so we resupported it with another steel rod, there is a split in the bronze tube covering the steel rod as shown. This porch light does not take any glass panes, but the socket and bulb are well protected by the roof. It is a very solid light, weighing 9.2 pounds. Antique Brass Mirrored Wall Sconces for Candles - early 1900's
Handsome pair of antique candle sconces with rectangular beveled mirrors and 2 candle holders for each sconce. Top of each depicts oval shield with a lion on each side and scrolling throughout is ornate. There are extra disks for the candle holders for catching wax and the reflecting candle light is really pretty when the candles are lit. These sconces hung in my aunt's home for years and as a little girl. Admiring the candle light, I was told they were antiques from Europe. Since I'm now 70 yrs old I'm guessing these were from the early 1900's. As happens with old mirrors, there are a few dark spots and an area along the right side and corner where the mirror has begun to loose its silvering. I've tried to show these in the photos. Each sconce is about 17"long and about 7 1/2" wide. An unusual pair of antique. Circa 1900, electric sconces in Louis XV Rococo style. Ormolu brass with screw secured cut and frosted glass three shades(one missing. Three(of four) removable ormulu crowns rest on the tops of the shades. Unmarked, probably French made. The sconces total measure 19" tall, the sockets 7" from the wall and 9" from each other. The wall plates measure 11" tall by 6-3/4" wide. The shades are 4-1/2" tall 3-3/4" diameter, the fitter rims 1-3/4" diameter. Both with new cord and sockets. Missing the wall bolts for mounting. Minor base chip to one shade. Fine original ormolu finish unworn. The pair is for one price.

ANTIQUE, CIRCA 1900, DRAGONFLY STAINED GLASS LAMP SHADE- VERY NICE
This is an outstanding estate find. It is old and not a reproduction. I cannot find where it is signed. But it is stamped'5" under the top part of the globe on the bronze piece. The top of the shade is either solid brass or bronze. It looks like it is slightly damaged. I am not sure, but it looks like the opening is too large- but it may have been made that way- it also has a slight dent. The glass portion of the shade is real colored glass, not plastic or painted, and the dragonflies are in raised relief. There are a couple of panel that have a hairline crack, but overall it gets a 9. All panes are original to my knowledge. It is gorgeous. I am not at all an expert on these. I have found pictures of similar shades in the thousands of dollars- but do not know how to evaluate them. This one came from the estate of an old merchant ... morefamily in Alabama. I am selling it at no reserve and low opening bid. I want the bidder to get a good deal on this item, but this is not my area of expertise, so feel free to ask lots of questions.
