But these had there time. You can still use them and I would as it gives the chandelier more character. This chandelier dates back to the late 1800s and was used with candles before it was electrified. That is also the reason why the wires are on top of the arms. Also the wire that goes into the ceiling is connected to the outside of the stem. In the bobeche are small holes made to run the wires trough.
