I purchased this beautiful light ficture over thirty years ago and hung it in an old style American kitchen in my home in New York City. When we sold our house. ANTIQUE VICTORIAN FOYER CEILING SLAG LAMP CIRCA EARLY 1900'S
Here for your consideration is a beautiful antique Victorian style foyer slag lamp that was purchased from the estate of a home that was built in the 1920's. This piece is as breathtaking as it is unique. It is 18 inches in height. 10 1/4 inches wide, has a 6 inch chain, and a ceiling cone that is 4 1/4 inches wide by 3 1/4 inches tall. It features four slag"S" shaped curved caramel swerve colored glasses. All original, all in excellent condition. Also features 4 more"S' shaped narrow glasses that are located just behind each of the four ornately decorated gorgeous corners of the lamp. There are 4 crowning screw-in pieces located at the top corners of the lamp to allow easier access to the interior. To say that this lamp is a work of art is an understatement. Despite its wonderful features we are obligated of course ... moreto tell you of any defects. The tube that connects the chain to the ceiling has a little bit of build up. Or lite rust. However this does not stop it from screwing securely to the lamp and going through the cone. The lamp appears to have been spray painted gold and has some areas that are flaking, underneath reveals are beautiful dark patina. One of the small ornaments just above the larger"S" shaped glass appears to have been chipped and may have been repaired. It should be noted that this piece is small and not very noticable. Not a difficult repair should you decide to go that route. The bottom of the lamp has some scratches do to it being placed on the floor. The electrical wires have been updated. However we can not guarantee that they work. All in all it displays breathtakingly as it stands with just a few touch ups. Or it can be completely restored with its lovely dark patina underneath. Up for consideration is a fine set of 4 or 2 pair of Antique French Wall Sconces. The sconces date from about 1910 or so and measure 14 1/2 inches tall by about 10 inches by 5 inches deep. This set consists of 3 arms on each piece with great casting and super casting. As with good fine quality French Sconces they are cast in many separate pieces. The backplate consists of 3 separate pieces. There is a lacey bowtie top cascading down and tying into the top of the torch with descending bell flowers in the center body of the torch. Up for consideration is extra fine pair of French Bronze Wall Sconces in original Paint. They measure 15 1/4 inches tall by 10 inches wide by 5 inches deep. They are in incredible condition with fine jewelry quality casting. They are marked numbers on the back please see photos. The sconces are made of gilded bronze with enameled paint. One sconce has been rewired one has original cloth wiring. They date from about 1910. Sconces of this style and form do not get much better than this in quality. Up for for consideration is a large Architectual exterior Wall Sconce. It measures 23 inches tall by about 10 1/2 inches deep by 8 inches wide. The sconce held curved glass pieces which made up the shade. The cylinder type shade held 4 piece around and 4 smaller pieces on the bottom. It looks to have a newer socket from the 1940 or 50's. The piece weighs about 15 lbs. It has it's original mounting bolts. The exterior foliage pieces that mount on the frame are thinner pieces of Copper. I think the set this was hand painted and is simply stunning All lighting worked when it was taken off the walls. But has been sitting for may years now and will need rewired. The hanging light includes the ceiling plate and measures: 19" long from top finial to curved legs on bottom. This 19th century Chinese wall lantern is gorgeous. It was originally a candle sconce and was converted to electric at some point in time. The glass panels are all here. The wiring works. But I would personally rewire, or have rewired, such a beautiful piece of art if I were to purchase it. The lamp measures approximately 14" tall x 8" wide at the top x 5" deep. The gold paint depicts a Chinese man holding a stick with a bird on the end, while another bird sits above them on what appears to be a small temple. ANTIQUE CIRCA 1885 GAS WALL SCONCE - HEAVY FILIGREE and DEEP ETCHED SHADE
ANTIQUE ALL BRASS HIGH END GAS WALL FIXTUE with original hardware. Deep etched shade with 5 inch fitter- ELECTRIFIED This is an awesome late 1880s-1890s gas wall fixture with all of its original parts. Back plate. Antique 5 inch fitter with rosette screws and heavy cast filigree and wreath gas cock. The fixture has only been cleaned and the original patina has been sealed. The shade is a high-end. Deep etched design with birds, leaves and flowers. The top rim is"rough cut" from the factory and there are a couple of small flakes on the very top that are hard to see. I almost couldn't tell if they are part of the manufacturing process or nicks from the gas lighter. The lamp has been wired with a bronze candelabra base socket that blends right in and looks as close to a gas burner as you can get. The lamp takes a candelabra base ... morebulb up to 60 watts and looks great on a dimmer switch. The back plate is about 4.5 inches in diameter so it will fit over your wall mount electrical box. ANTIQUE, CIRCA 1900, DRAGONFLY STAINED GLASS LAMP SHADE- VERY NICE
This is an outstanding estate find. It is old and not a reproduction. I cannot find where it is signed. But it is stamped'5" under the top part of the globe on the bronze piece. The top of the shade is either solid brass or bronze. It looks like it is slightly damaged. I am not sure, but it looks like the opening is too large- but it may have been made that way- it also has a slight dent. The glass portion of the shade is real colored glass, not plastic or painted, and the dragonflies are in raised relief. There are a couple of panel that have a hairline crack, but overall it gets a 9. All panes are original to my knowledge. It is gorgeous. I am not at all an expert on these. I have found pictures of similar shades in the thousands of dollars- but do not know how to evaluate them. This one came from the estate of an old merchant ... morefamily in Alabama. I am selling it at no reserve and low opening bid. I want the bidder to get a good deal on this item, but this is not my area of expertise, so feel free to ask lots of questions.
