This sale is for a early Victorian Wall Sconce to hold your oil lamps. This one is an Antique piece and not a reproduction. This is a rarer item as it ... morefeatures a double shelf to hold two oil lamps. It appears to be in original cast iron surface with no visible paint. There are two round bases or shelf's. The larger one measures approximately 5 1/2" so it will hold a 5" lamp and the smaller holder is 5" so it will hold a 4" lamp. From where it would mount against your wall to the outter edge it measures 15" It is missing the wall mount but you can find them easy replacement. You could paint this white or black to add a newer look. I personally like it the way it is gives it a antique charm. I see no damage other than the wall bracket. It is approximately 7" tall. Very nice detail in the cast iron. There is a little rust in both of the holder cups steel wool will remove it but I will leave that up to you as some prefer an old patina look. These double holders are getting very hard to find. Email me with your questions.

This lamp was found in an 1800's cottage on lake Ontario in New York with the beautiful globe seen in the photos! Beautiful ornate Victorian cast metal/copper swinging wall sconce. Marked Pat'd June7, 1887. The globe is a soft off white color with floral transfers and some hand painted additions. Simple clear glass oil lamp base-appears newer. Oil lamp in some of the photos has a filling cap- the one for sale is the same but does not have a filling cap. The lamp has long ago been electrified and will need rewiring to current standards. The wall mount/bracket plate is included with the lamp. Measurements: sconce is 12" from wall to exterior holder; The holder part for the oil lamp measures 5 1/2" diameter on each. Globe measures 6 3/4" base diameter; 6" height. Glass chimney(the one included is not original) measures ... more8" height. 2 3/4" base diameter. The metal sconce has a repair at the bottom near where the metal dangle piece is- see the photos. The globe is very pretty with no chips or cracks. The sconce measures 12-1/2" long and is 6-1/4" at its tallest part. The platforms are two different sizes. The larger of the two has an inside diameter of 4-3/4" and the smaller one has an inside diameter of 3-1/2" The wall bracket measures 5-1/2" x 2" at its widest part. Measures about 13-1/2" from wall to outer edge of holder. The flat portion of the inset in the holder(round part) measures a little over 4-3/4" and tapers out a bit further. It has some wear. Some surface rust, and what looks like a very tight stress crack on a small portion of the holder. It works beautifully, swinging from side to side with a hand made wall bracket that will be included. Awesome antique cast iron hanging parlor lamp frame/part Originally designed to hold an oil lamp(I think) It looks like someone had converted it to an electrical light many decades ago, as there is a socket in the"bowl" part that has cloth cord/wiring pieces attached to it and a hole on the side of the bowl for the wire to go through; these wires were snipped off since then and it looks like it wouldn't be too difficult to remove the socket piece to revert it back to an oil lamp holder Smaller in size than some of these old frames you see. It measures approx. 15" long and 7" across; probably designed to hold a smaller lamp-the bowl is just under 3" across at the top, narrowing down to just under 2" across as the bottom The iron is ornate and looks Art Nouveau in style. And the bowl piece was painted? a copper ... morecolor; the rest of it is more of a grey color, with what looks kind of like brass tones showing through in places; there's a small hanging hook at the top on the inside part as well as the top hanging ring, so you could easily turn this into some other type of hanging décor piece for your antique home or garden This piece is very old. Very ornate Victorian cast iron double oil lamp holder and bracket. I am sure this was once black and has been painted blue but easy to paint it back to black. This would hold two different sizes of oil lamps. One is 4-3/4in across and the to the back is 4in across. I have seen a lot of the ones that hold one lamp but a double is hard to find.
