I believe this is an early French fixture which was completely restored in the 1980s. Solid bronze, very heavy. Overall good condition. One drop shade is cracked and repaired. Another shade with several small chips. Oxidation to the gilt surface. Especially around the drop bulb sockets. All wiring is good. ELEGANT EARLY 20TH CENTURY WROUGHT IRON / BRASS LAMPS
Beautiful large pair of early 20th century wrought iron lamps with brass trimmings. These lamps are in amazing condition for their age- they will just need to be rewired and the bulb sockets replaced and of course new glass will need to be installed. One of the lamps is missing one of the small metal grapes that hangs from the bottom. With a little effort these lamps will be ready to install on your lovely home. I would date these lamps to the 1920's with their ceramic light sockets and lead shielded wiring. These lamps are very large- the overall height of the lamps including the wall bracket is about 27 inches. Early 20th Century Cast Aluminum Five Light Hanging Fixture- 1st of 2 available Mouse over images to see larger version Click to view supersize image This is a very ornate and nicely detailed 5 light hanging ceiling fixture complete with canopy. What makes this fixture special is the opalescent glass with cameos. The fixture is complete and is in unrestored condition. The electric should be updated. The fixture itself should probably be cleaned and rejuvenated. A creative restorer could do some wonderful things with this chandelier. Most of the materials are made of cast aluminum but it also has some chrome pieces. No markings of note. The fixture measures about 17" inches across and the height is about 12" not including chain and canopy. Please review the pictures carefully- they are part of the description. The first few pictures ... moreare showing the fixture hanging and are the same for this and the second identical fixture available in another auction. The rest of the pictures(the close-ups) are of this fixture. The light bulbs are not included. This is a used and old chandelier. Early 20th Century Style Craftsman Chandelier
This auction is for a 20th Century Craftsman style chandelier originally from a prairie style home in Swedesboro. New Jersey. This chandelier has had a refinishing of the original bronze finish to a silver or brushed aluminum finish. It has also been rewired. The original finish can still be seen on the underside of the chandelier. It comes with 12 prisms, but am not certain if they are original to the candelier. This is a nice antique early 20th century powder blue Venetian glass chandelier. In pretty nice shape as the pics show with some fading as well as it having losses to the gold decoration and it is missing a leaf or flower. I'm not sure which, and it comes exactly as shown. Although not shown it does work. It measures approximately 17 1/2" x 17 1/2" x 22" and has no chain. Pair Early 20th Century 2 Arm Bronze Sconces w Gilt Leaves Acorn Finials & Brass
Here we have a really great early 20th century pair of 2 arm bronze sconces with both gilt& brass leaves and acorn finials. These heavy sconces have a super deep time aged patina and we believe they date to the turn of 20th century. Each sconce has two arms and seven gilt leaves staggered along the length of the main bronze shaft. One sconce has four brass leaves between the gilt leaves and the other sconce is missing two brass leaves leaving two. All of the leaves have curved copper stems which are also used to hold the leaves to the main bronze shaft. These sconces are in untouched as-found condition with a wonderful deep time aged patina and we have not cleaned or dusted them. The patina is very deep and it is possible that it is remnants of red or brown paint. Each of these sconces will need brackets. Lighting parts, rewiring and ... morehave loose acorn finials. They each measure 13 1/4" tall. 4 1/4" across the arms and weigh 1 pound 10 ounces. This is a really interesting early 20th century pair of sconces with gilt leaves and with a little attention will make a wonderful usable pair. Diminutive vintage ceiling light fixture chandelier from the early 1900s. It looks Edwardian in style to me- maybe early 1920s. I don't think it's any later. The copper ceiling wires are covered in cloth or fabric. It came out of the hallway of the attic of the Cota Struzziero funeral home in Somerville. MA, which is closed and being torn down. The building is a Victorian era building. I took this light off the ceiling. It was working when I found it. Although one of the old bulbs was burned out and one of the bulbs is a modern replacement. I will send the two old bulbs along ... morewith the light because they are kind of neat to see but I cannot guarantee the one that still works will still be working when it arrives. This has the look of iron and I believe it is iron though it's not too heavy. It is quite delicate in style so maybe that's why it's not too heavy. It is a lovely smaller size. Perfect for a hallway or powder room. The length of the chandelier itself is approximately 14.5" The length of one side- from arm to arm- is about 10.5" The chain and ceiling plate add about 19" to the overall length. It was filthy when I found it- with about a quarter of an inch of dust on it. I photographed it with the dust on it but in one photo I wiped the dust off the arm and you can see it is a nice black finish. NOTE: All three of the old black candle covers have problems. Two are cracked and one has chips out of the top of it. These are old plastic covers- celluloid or something like it(not metal and not cardboard and not modern plastic either I don't think) These are replaceable if it bothers you- but honestly I didn't notice the damage until I took the bulbs out and I would not bother replacing them. Dad got these out of an old fancy house here in southern NJ about 50 years ago. Dads gone now and we are clearing out because I turned into an old guy. These sat on a cellar shelf for over 50 yrs. There is a matching pair and both are marked MADE IN FRANCE. They date from the early 20th century and were probably made not long after the invention of electricity. They both need to be rewired. They are both Gilded FRENCH BRONZE. One sconce has been touched up with gold paint. The other still retains an original aged distressed guild finish. One sconce is missing its bottom of candle cap/ rim as shown in photo. These are high quality French Bronze Sconces that once adorned the walls of a very wealthy home. I believe that a good portion of the gold gilding may still be clinging under the paint and age grime. Each sconce weighs about 10lbs. The ... morefront measures about 14 3/4in wide from end to end. Up for your consideration a rare Moe Bridges exterior cast iron/wrought iron/brass light fixture manufactured in the early 20th century.very high quality construction! The fixture is all original including the glass globe but has had new wiring added due to safety reasons. The condition is superb with no chips or cracks what so ever on the original etched glass globe. The fixture measures approximately 15" high. Extends 9" from wall, and is 6" wide and weighs 8 lbs.
