It dates from the early 1900's around 1920. It is a signed Electrolier fixture. This company made high end lighting in the 1920's and 1930's. This fixture comes with the slip shade. The glass shade is free from any chips or cracks. This lamp looks quite nice hen it is lit. The sconce has the original gold paint and it is free from any signs of rust which is nice. This slip shade sconce has the original switch on it and it is still active and working. This lamp has been tested working however it still has the old cloth wires so you may want to have them replaced. The sconce measures 6 1/2" x 10 1/2" and projects 5 1/4" from the wall( with the shade on) The slip for the shade is 4 5/8" at the top and curves in over 3 1/4" As you can see there is some white wall paint on the one corner. This could easily be cleaned off but we did not want to ruin any of the original gold paint so we will leave it up to you. Never Any Reserve! All questions will be answered promptly! This auction is for 2 antique/vintage hanging ceiling light lamp fixtures with a 4" fitter. These are all wired up and the sockets work great. You just need to find 2 bulbs to fit the 4" fitter and you have 2 gorgeous hanging ceiling light fixtures. They hang 18" from ceiling to bottom of the fixture. Original Antique Brass Ceiling Light Fixture Flush Mount, 2 Drop Sockets 1920
I recently renovated an old 1920 two story house that had almost all original period lighting. I removed 22 old fixtures of which the majority was still working at the time of removal. This fixture came out of an upstairs bedroom. The light was working at the time of removal. The fixture is made of brass but has a cast iron finial. Is 12" in diameter and the sockets hang down 6 1/2" to where the fitter for the shades are at the bottom of the sockets. The sockets are Weber Fat Boys with paddle key switches. The fixture is being sold as is with the expectation that this item will be refurbished to todays electrical standards by the purchaser. The fixture is in the condition that it was removed with both dirt and paint on it which is mainly around the edge where it was mounted to the ceiling. Original Antique 1910 Hanging 2 Arm Brass Light Fixture / Hubbell Sockets
This beautiful. Vintage 1910, fixture hangs about 31" from the ceiling and. That could easily be adjusted with the heavy chain. The fixture is about 15" wide without the shades installed. The brass is fairly heavy gauge. The pair of shades were on the fixture when I acquired it; they're perfect. They have frosted interiors and have a nice ring when plucked. The 2 Hubbell paddle switched sockets are in excellent condition and have a strong click when turned. This good looking fixture is ready to hang with new restoration, as you can see. (2) Set of Antique Double Arm Solid Brass Wall Light Sconces-Rewired-w/sockets
I used to polish all my brass lights until I learned. Not all buyers like the high polished look. Some like them just like you see these. If I polish them, I loose a little of the market of buyers because they like the patina left on the light. If you prefer yours polished, these would look amazing and it wouldn't be hard at all with just a little time and some brasso. I found these in the rafters of an out building at an estate sale. They wasn't in terrible condition but the sockets were pretty much toast. The lights used to have the type socket with a roll switch on each socket. One of the pics shows where the flange just below the bulb has the place cut out for such a socket. If you want, you could put this type socket back in it. The opening can be turned to the back so it can't be seen. I just think it limits as to where ... morethe lights could be used if the switch was on the socket. You could just turn it on before mounting them and the switch would then work them but most of the time these will be used where you can't reach the light to use that type switch. Anyway, it has brand new sockets and wire in it, so they are ready to use if this application fits your needs. These are solid brass and not plated. Judging by the sockets that was in them and the wiring, I'd say 30's or 40's but I don't think they are any newer than that. Beautiful matching set and well made. You should know their size by the pics I took with a tape measure. The shades are pretty common and you can still find many different ones to go with these. These are also versital because you can turn them up or down. Each shade holder only has 2 out of 3 of the screws that holds the shades in the light. Plenty enough if they are turned up, if you mount them turned down, you will probably need to make sure you have all 3 screws in the holder or the shade will fall out.
