The leg opening is 23 1/2" tall and 19" wide. It is sturdy and in good condition. It has minor wear. There is a veneer pull on the bottom left hand drawer edge. The hardware is original. New York City Circa 1920-40 Item# 130001OTY27 This ... moreis a French Louis XVI Style Antique Writing Table or Desk crafted in solid mahogany and mahogany veneers by Jacques Bodart. Inc. The desk retains the original photograph from when it was retailed by Jacques Bodart, Inc. during the first quarter of the 20th Century, noting this as#1681. It is a gorgeous piece, the original gilt highlighted tooled green leather preserved in remarkable condition, framed in well patinated molded mahogany over five drawers. The desk rests over four tapered and stop-fluted legs with square brass caps over each leg and terminating in plain brass capped feet. Jacques Bodart. Inc. crafted very fine reproductions of Louis XVI 18th and 19th Century antique furniture, marketing these to interior designers and decorators around the country from their showroom in New York City. This is a simply outstanding selection, only more so due to the fine patina and character developed throughout, perfect for home decorators and those passionate about original French designs. Measurements: 55 1/8" wide x 28 1/4" deep x 30" high; wings are 12 3/4" across when fully extended. 21 5/8" deep. Condition Report: Nice patinated and almost certainly original surface. Sunbleached on the front and sides, color well preserved in the back. Very minor dings and abrasions here and there throughout, including minor blemishes and stains to the leather top. No key. Overall excellent condition. Please review all images in the slideshow for a full overview of condition.

I am not sure about the carving. The desk has 3 leather panels on top. The desk is approximately 54" wide. 28" deep and 30" tall. It has 8 drawers. The bottom right drawer is a deep file drawer. Note the pretty carvings on either side and the raised panels on each of the drawers. Sides, and back. Key which operates all of the locks properly. One thought was to remove the lock in hopes of finding the maker, but we did not, as we did not want to perhaps damage the screw heads. There are slight marks to the lower right of the Inlaid star on the top. There are two holes with brass cylinders on the front(top) edge.not sure what they are for.no accessory hardware for them either. The star(top) is composed of 16 individual inlaid pieces in the veneer. The wood is unknow to us, if we(I) had to guess I would say walnut, with maple or ash pinstripping forming the boarders on the top and side edges. The bottom is cover in green felt(no picture) somewhat worn, but not ripped, just some rolled edges(comprised of three pieces of felt) one having the number 033 marked on it. This item came with an auctioneer tag from Gaston& Sheehan Auctioneers Inc. in Pflugerville, Tx. with alot number of 680 on the tag. We called them, but without more information, relative to the piece it was impossible to search just the lot number 680. French Louis XVI Style Fruitwood Leather Top Antique Writing Desk Second Quarter of the 20th Century. Stamped"Made in France" Item# 130006OLV15 This is an outstanding find for any serious interior designer or anyone passionate about Neoclassical forms true to the spirit of Louis XVI furnishings. A French Louis XVI Style Antique Writing Desk executed in solid fruitwood. Presumably Cherry, this piece was crafted during the first half of the 20th Century- this date could probably be further isolated with research into the Circular Crowned Fire Breathing Dragon brand impressed beneath the desk beside the"Made in France" brand. The broad leather top is tooled along the edges. The surface remaining in overall quite good condition despite years of use; it is framed in fruitwood edged by brass tubing, the corners of the frame ... morepinned with exposed pegs. The top projects over three drawers, these hand dovetailed with golden oak secondary woods in the sides, back and machine-chamfered bottom. The original key is retained, working the lock on the middle drawer quite effectively. Each corner of the frame is embellished with gilded ribbed rectangular panels over the legs. The desk rests over turned and tapered legs beneath round brass rings and terminating in capped brass ball feet. It is sturdy and stable. An absolutely perfect piece for regular functional use in a home office or home library. The fruitwood glows throughout with a deep well oxidized patina beneath a polished finish. Measurements: 51 1/8" wide x 27 1/2" deep x 30" high to top; 24" high to underside of apron where the chair would pull under Condition Report: Brass rim with some dents. Breaks and little pieces of tape here and there(we can remove these upon request if they are distracting) Numerous dings, wear and abrasions to the surface throughout- none are distracting and most just add character to the piece. Very rare to find the leather both on the top of the desk and on the 2 pull out trays on either side in great condition. The drawers all move in and out with ease. The front of the desk has four drawers on either side with a wide pencil drawer in top center and a leather top pull out tray on either end. Beautiful original condition leather topped Mid Century Modern late 1940's Edward Wormley for Dunbar desk. The color is a dark shade of green that almost looks bluish. Please enlarge each photo and inspect the many areas of wear. Slight peeling of leather top on the sides. Abrasions along the corners and edges. Knicks and bumps here and there. This measures: 44.5" long x 22" deep x 30" tall. The chair has a matching color leather seat, but is a Morredi import from Sweden. If you want the chair it will be included. We are pleased to offer to the market this great antique desk. This is a school master's desk that is being sold as is as shown. The desk is structurally sound but has some losses. The front and back rails that connect the banks are missing. The front molding is also loose. The drawers are missing the carved moldings on the keyholes and there are a couple of drawers that are missing the stops. The desk measures 29.5" high x 51" wide x 27" deep. The height of the kneehole is 26" and the width is 21" The top of this has a thin writing surface taped on that we believe is leather. Due to the age we are not 100% positive. The tape is beginning to peel up in several places. There are age and use appropriate scratches and dings and there are also some spots inside the drawers. Here is a beautiful vintage 8-Drawer Wood Desk. Circa 1940's. I couldn't find a maker's mark- although I didn't look underneath- but it looks a lot like Desks made by Maddox of New York. This Desk is well-built and solid- each Drawer features Dovetail construction. This Desk has an imbedded red Leather Top. With gold detailing, Brass Drawer/Side Handles and a 3/8" thick piece of Glass on top. There are three Drawers on the top- a smaller Drawer on each side and a large Drawer in the middle. Below these top Drawers there are three Drawers on the left side and two Drawers on the right side; the bottom right Drawer is a two-Handled File Drawer. This Desk is in good condition for it's age. But does have various blemishes here and there, including some nicks, scratches, scuffs, dings, stains, etc. Some of the Drawers are ... morea little tight when pulled/pushed in and out and could use some lubrication/wax. Made during the Edwardian period. This desk was created around 1910 in England. It was a fine time for furniture making and this desk shows that. The selection of mahogany used is quite attractive. ... moreThe wood has a lovely color and patina. A key is present and all but the upper right hand drawer lock. That lock is broken. The drawer pulls are solid brass. The type of handle is a swan neck pull. A writing surface of fine, red leather adorns the top. The care and attention to detail that went into the construction of this antique writing desk is evident through the hand cut dovetails. Dovetails are the strongest way to join a drawer. They take careful precision to do properly. But offer the greatest longevity to the piece. You will also notice the back is fully finished which allows you to place the desk in the middle of a room if your layout requires that at any time. Overall this desk is in very good condition. It is strong. Sturdy, and will last for many years. The leather has sustained the most wear of the desk. You will notice in the accompanying pictures that the right side of the leather has a number of parallel lines which are hard to see unless you are looking closely. There is also a light colored stain near the middle. The mahogany has minor surface wear here and there, but is overall in very nice shape. The height from the floor to the bottom of the desk is 23.7

Old Vintage Antique :Leather Top Partner's Desk Liverpool England Fine Mahogany
Thrift store fresh. It has a name on it that we can't make out that appears to start with the letters"M-O-S-T" and was made in Liverpool England. Large, heavy piece-measures about 70" long by 46" across, and stands about 30" high. Condition is good with a few expected bumps and bruises, and two handles that are there, but need to be put back on. A few pieces of missing beading strips are missing, but there are a couple pieces of it in the drawer, and can be put back on with a couple dabs of glue. One of the long beaded pieces around one side is somewhat loose, but again, it will take all of 2 minutes to re-glue it back into place. It has only a couple minor dings where the wood has small losses, and that one split that will need to be re-glued down, and stained over(see close-up) We were tempted to polish it up ... moreand re-stain a couple areas ourselves, but the patina and wear is so fantastic, we decided to leave it alone in case some of y'all liked it that way. One of the side doors(with faux drawers) is loose, and will need a second hinge before it can be reattached properly(see photo) All these are simply minor details, and with about a 1/2 hours worth of TLC, you will have a piece worth multiples of what we are asking. the leather top is in great shape, with no rips or tears, and only the expected wear for an old piece like this. Due to the size of this one, it is offered with local pick-up only here in the Chattanooga area. Not to sound mean, but the price is FIRM upon pick-up, as the last two local pick-ups turned into haggling sessions in my driveway, and that is not going to happen on this one.
