For your consideration is a Mission Style mahogany slant front writing desk made by Novelty Wood Works(1897-1912) in Union City. PA. The desk is 30.25" wide, 37" high, and 14.5" deep(from drawer) When opened, the writing surface is 27.5" from the floor. It features original brass hardware, a single pull-out drawer beneath the desk, and six compartments inside to store letter, bills, etc. I estimate the age of this piece to be approximately 110 years. It is in good to very good condition as indicated in the Condition description. There are some light scratches and cup marks as pictured. From a New Hampshire estate and for your consideration is a Mission Style mahogany slant drop front writing desk produced by the Novelty Wood Works Co. 1897-1912) of Union City. PA. The desk is 30.25" wide and 32" tall and 15" deep. The height of the writing surface is 15. I estimate the age of this desk to be approximately 110 years. It is in good to very good condition with some light surface scratches and cup marks as pictured. More wear is shown(appropriately) inside on the work surface. There is evidence of use(and age) by the scuffing marks on the inside walls from opening and closing the desktop. This desk does not take up much space so would work great in smaller areas. There is no reserve on this really beautiful antique walnut slant front drop lid secretary desk with bookcase top. The bookcase top has 2 shelves above the base of it. The desk is 80 inches tall. 39 inches wide, 17 inches deep. There are 2 dove tailed drawers at the writing surface level, one on either side of the 8 divided storage sections. The writing surface is in good condition. When the drop is open it is supported by 2 wooden boards that pull out under it. When the drop is closed, you can access 1 long dove tailed drawer and below the drawer 2 doors open to a base with 1 shelf in it. All the brass hardware is original and in good condition except a repaired handle on the left side of the bottom of the base. Excellent condition. Buyer must arrange and pay for pick up and delivery.

This Winthrop slant top ball and claw secretary desk dates from the 1940s. It has all the original brass Chippendale hardware on the front. As you open up the breadboard writing surface. Automatic extensions come out to support the writing lid and it also exposes a wonderful multi-cubby hole section with 3 deep drawers. This interior has a carved door storage area and two cleverly designed units behind multi turn spindle posts. When I was little my parents always used to hide things in those drawers and it took us years to figure out where they were. This desk was made by Maddox out of Buffalo. Antique 1900-1950 Slant Drop Front Oak Secretary Desk - Lionhead
I am not an expert but an antique furniture appraiser looked at this piece recently and stated this is a unique desk that he's never seen one quite like it. It was likely made in the early 1900's. Made of oak. And has a spooncarved front. There are no identifying markings. It is in excellent shape and it has the original finish. Brass fittings show a bit of tarnish but should clean up easily with a little TLC. Three of the posts on the brass rail at the top are loose but can be easily secured with a little bit of attention. One of the rail ends is stripped so that will need to be secured as well. Otherwise this piece is ready for your home. I would be happy to provide more detailed photos if requested. I hate to part with such a beautiful and unique item but we no longer have the room and it just doesn't fit our decor. Antique Drop Front/Slant Front Secretary Desk 1940's
Antique Drop Front/Slant Front Secretary Desk- 1940's- Solid wood. Has Ball and Claw feet. And all original brass hardware. One brass drawer pull is broken, but I have the piece that broke off. It has three drawers, and inside of the drop down has three drawers, a door and six cubby holes. The drop-down locks, but I don't have the key for it. The dimensions are 43" high x 34" wide x 17" deep. With the drop-down open, it is 29" deep. It has a 2-1/2" x 3" section of the lower left front corner where a piece of the veneer is missing. It has a few age and wear scratches. The support hinge on the left side inside of the drop down is broken, but still sits level with the good one, so it does not sag. It may be able to be repaired, and if not, can be easily replaced. These flaws can all be seen in the photos.
