Antique Mission Oak Library Desk I can find no markings on this except a#17 in pencil in the drawer slide and a# 17 in pencil in the drawer. I assume they did this so they would know which drawer went with which desk, and does not allude to who made the desk. I got this from my wife's uncles estate. He was 96 when he passed and he got this desk from his parents estate in Spokane Wa. when they passed. It is made from solid oak and on the ends of the top board you can see that the top is tongue and grooved. Very hard to show in the pictures. I don't know tiger oak from quarter sawn oak so you be the judge. There is some what appears to be grey paint on one corner of the top. please see pictures. Someone drove 2 finish nails about 2' long into the top of one of the legs. One leg has a chip out of it at the bottom about the size of ... morea quarter and another leg has a little grey paint at the bottom of one side. See pictures. I have made no attempt to repair. Clean or restore the finish on this desk, it is in the condition it was given me in. All in all this desk is in great vintage condition given its age. This is an antique Solid oak mission desk/ library table that I found up in New Hampshire in 1983 and had it restored back then. It is in very good condition. A few scratches on bottom shelf, and a couple repairs of scratches on top, see pictures. it has the origianl tag on bottom that reads BOHM Cabinetry Rochester NY. I was told it is from 1928. lease see pictures and feel free to ask questions. The actual color of the desk shows in pictures 3,5,6 and 10, and is a rich oak color. We are pleased to offer this wonderful antique desk. The desk is constructed of steel and has heavy brass(does not accept a magnet) around the bottom of the legs. The desk was produced by Art Metal and manufactured in Jamestown. NY. It is dated 11/26 in both the drawer and on the inner section of the desk. The desk retains the original, chocolate brown paint on the sides, front and the back. The top has no paint(maybe originally designed this way) and is a silver, steel color. Each exterior side of the desk features a large, stenciled, Art Deco styled medallion. I think this was probably added to the desk at some point and do not think it is original. It does give the desk a unique look, however. The desk was made for reading or writing. It does not have side storage but does have a large center drawer. A partial foil manufacturer's sticker ... moreis located inside the desk. In their most prosperous years, Art Metal won exclusive rights to furnish public libraries, offices, etc. with their noncombustible furniture. They made excellent quality pieces and this desk is a fine representation of their quality. The desk is in very good structural condition. It is heavy and quite sturdy. The finish has a general aged appearance(which I happen to like) The paint has peeled in areas and the top has some aged, rusted spots. If you don't care for the aged character, you could strip and refinish pretty easily. The desk measures 28" tall. It is 29.75" wide and 24" deep(front to back) It has a knee space height of 24" The drawer is 17" wide. 13" front to back and 1.5" tall(interior space measurements) THE DESK IS EXTREMELY HEAVY. Antique Mahogany Library Table Desk with Single Pedestal - Priced to Sell!
This graceful. Pedestal desk is in good condition for its age. It was refinished many years ago after it was found abandoned in a Chicago area alley and has belonged to my husband for over 40 years. There are no manufacturer marks on it. It has one locking drawer with hand-made key. Drawer knobs are wood, but are probably not original to the piece. Drawer is 23 ¼” wide x 19 ¼” deep. India ink stains in the drawer give an indication of its age. Drawers have dove-tail construction and are solid wood. The top writing surface is in good condition, but there are some gouges and dents that give it‘character’ The pedestal is 31 ½” wide and is 19 ½” in depth. There is some veneer chipped off of one of the pedestal ends and some surface scratches on the base of the legs as shown in the pictures. Wood panel on bottom of drawer has a split as can also be seen in photo. Overall good condition, nice tiger oak pattern of wood grain. Left side of table top has 2 very minor spots where tip of screws from underneath have made minor wear to the top. Not very noticeable. See photos for overall condition. Antique Pine(?) early 1900's Youth Library Desk made from paid mail instructions
Came from SE Georgia. USA. Desk top has staples holes all along its edge from old lace that was on there when I purchased it. Has a compartment under the desk top above where the student would sit, panel to the left of the"student's legs" has a crack that needs wood glue. Beyond that, it shows wear, has a lot of indigo/ink marks from old pen wells that sat in various places. Perfect rustic piece. Smells like heart pine.

The desk is constructed of steel and has heavy brass(does not accept a magnet) around the bottom of the legs. The desk was produced by Art Metal and manufactured in Jamestown. NY. It is dated 11/26 in both the drawer and on the inner section of the desk. The desk retains the original, chocolate brown paint on the sides, front and the back. The top has no paint(maybe originally designed this way) and is a silver, steel color. Each exterior side of the desk features a large, stenciled, Art Deco styled medallion. I think this was probably added to the desk at some point and do not think it is original. It does give the desk a unique look, however. The desk was made for reading or writing. It does not have side storage but does have a ... morelarge center drawer. A partial foil manufacturer's sticker is located inside the desk. In their most prosperous years, Art Metal won exclusive rights to furnish public libraries, offices, etc. with their noncombustible furniture. Flat feet, and gently curved decorations. This antique Queen Anne desk follows the style perfectly. Made in England around the year 1900 of fine mahogany wood, this desk would be a wonderful addition to any home! Fine black leather adorns the top. This leather is new to the desk having recently been replaced. Gold tooling borders the edges of the leather providing ... morea nice contrast to the wood. All four Queen Anne style legs are the perfect proportion for the desk and connected with a decorative apron in the front. Beautiful brass handles were used on the two drawers. The drawers are constructed with hand cut dovetails giving a glimpse of the skill and quality of construction that went into this antique Queen Anne desk. Finally. A fully finished back allows you to place the desk anywhere in your room. Overall this desk is in very good and sturdy condition. The front right foot has a good bit of wear at the bottom as shown in the photos. There is an age separation on the back and two very small ones on the top. Minor wear in the form of tiny marks are present on the piece as well and help to give it character. The height from the floor to the bottom of the desk is 21.5″ except where the decorative apron comes down which is 19.75″ This front right leg has some wear by the foot. The finished back has one small age separation. The shaped apron extends around the sides as well. Both sides look great! The black leather makes a wonderful writing surface for this desk. 5 feet wide x 3 feet deep the height from floor to top is 30 1/2 inches. From floor to bottom edge of drawers is 25 1/2 inches has a small phone connection box inside on bottom left side. Can be seen in pic, no wires has scratches and other surface issues throughout; two indentations on front top right corner. Can be seen in pic, I do NOT know if the white spots on inside of right side are paint or something else that will wash off there are NO drawer'pull' type hardware. But looks as if it had it at one point has two small drawers on each side with the'wood burned' imprint inside; the larger drawer in the center has the paper label underneath has 2 pull out writting/work surfaces on each side above the small drawers. Left one has a piece of wood broken off, can be seen in pic has small brass pieces on the bottom of each leg. ... moreI think all four are there(sorry it is hard to tell and my back is out so I couldn't bend down to check each leg) needs a very good cleaning but otherwise still a beautifull piece under all the dust/dirt have NO idea what type of wood it is made out of not sure if this is considered a desk or library table. I'm guessing its a desk because of the drawers have no idea what the age is very heavy and I do not think it comes apart. But I do not know has been in storage for 18 years. Do not know any other information about it buyer must make ALL shipping arrangements within 2 weeks. I do not have any idea how much it weighs.

Here for sale I have an old mission style desk. This has been in my family for many years. I believe this is called a library desk. It has a drawer on either side and book shelves on either end. Looks like but I don't know if it's Stickly or not. Could not find a name. It measures 44" long, 28" wide, 30 3/4" high measuring from wheels attached to legs. Type of wood, not an expert but looks like tiger oak. It has been well taken care of, not damaged but of course from age and usage has blemishes here and there. Local pick up only
